Fab Friday 111

Hi stampers!  Happy Friday!  Thank goodness for Artisan and Fab Friday or I'd never have anything to post, lol!

Moving is the pits and it's still got me down so I haven't stamped much at all.  And then I got the flu last weekend and I'm still kind of recovering from that too.  One of these days I'll get back to stamping and blogging regularly...I hope :-)

Anyway, check out our latest sketch.

Sorry my photo is kind of dark but I didn't get around to photographing it until the sun went down, whoops.  It'll have to do for now.

I love this PL kit and haven't done much with it so I thought I'd pull it out.  Don't look too close at the washi tape, I had a hard time getting it straight and eventually just said, whatever :-)

I trimmed the PL card down a bit to make it fit better on my card.  I just love these colors with the black!

Make sure you check out the whole team over on the Fab Friday site and make sure to play along!

Happy stamping!

Oh So Succulent Gift Set - Global Artisan Design Team Blog Hop

Hi stampers!  It's time for another trip around the world with the Artisan Design Team!  If you're new to us, we are group of 20 demonstrators around the globe who bring you inspiration twice a month.  If you came from Mercedes' blog, didn't you just love her project?  If you didn't, just keep clicking and you'll be around the world in no time!

This month's hop is all about the Oh So Succulent bundle which, I'm super sad to say, is not carrying forward into the new catalog.  So, if you have been eying any of this stuff... Get. It. Now.

I myself, am kind of obsessed with succulents!  If I lived somewhere they would do well outside, I'd totally have a whole garden!  They are so pretty! I don't have any live ones in the house due to Ian but maybe I can someday when he isn't a walking tornado :-)  They are so trendy right now and even if they weren't/aren't you can't deny that they are gorgeous little plants!  I found a few fake ones in the dollar spot at Target and you may notice a couple of those in my photos!

For this hope, I did a whole little gift set with a card, treat box, and gift card holder.  More presents/things to open, especially when they are small in stature, is always a good thing!

For my card, I wanted to go with a planter type theme so I used the hardwood background stamp to create a little wooden planter box.  I sponged the edged of each piece after I cut it apart and I kind of love it!  I made all of my succulents simply by stamping off for the body image and stamping full strength for the outline.

I didn't use the DSP on the card but I wanted to tie the gift card envelope in with it.  I love that you don't have to use the exact same products on your projects to make them coordinate!  I did add another strip of "hardwood" though.

And finally, who doesn't want some birthday chocolate?  I found the cutest little candy rocks at the most adorable candy shop in Tulsa!  They are just perfect for this box made from our clear tiny treat boxes.  I scored some more "hardwood" stamped cardstock to fit inside to make another little planter.

I simply made a succulent with the dies and adhered it to the top of a clear tiny treat box.  It's sponged with old olive on mint macaron.  I'm going to miss mint macaron something awful!  I added a couple of trailing succulents that I bent a little with my bone folder and some ribbon finished it off.

I hope you enjoyed my projects!  Are you as sad as me to see this bundle go?  What about mint macaron?

Our time in Oklahoma is up, it's time to head across the ocean to visit Miriam.  I just KNOW she's going to have something amazing for us!

Happy stamping!

Um...Happy Easter?

Hi stampers!  It's been quiet here, I know.  We are all moved into the new house although not even close to unpacked but not for lack of trying.  The people who packed us did some odd stuff (and the one woman who wasn't nice and who packed up my studio is ON my list right now, grrrrr) and then some boxes got put in complete wrong places in the new house so I'm still sorting things out.  I also have to go through EVERYTHING we have in storage as they took random things out of my tubs for like holidays and wrapped them and put them in boxes.  I get they were trying to protect things but a 5 dollar bunny from Target is the least of my worries, if it breaks, it breaks.  Have I mentioned I hate moving?  LOL!  I work and work and feel pretty good and then it doesn't look like I made a dent, haha!  And I feel kind of guilty if I do sit down to stamp, like I should be unpacking or working on something else.  But I'll get into a routine soon I hope.  I'm taking a break today while Ian naps and not doing much of anything.  Hopefully it will recharge me!  I was all motivated to get some work done last night but then a can of rotten tomato sauce exploded ALL over my new, white kitchen!  Needless to say, after I cleaned it up and made dinner, I was DONE with the day;-)

I made this card back in Chicago and put it in a safe place to bring it and photograph and share it. Well, it was really safe because I just found it last night, LOL!  It's past Easter of course, but I'll share anyway because it's cute and it's something...

I love dying eggs and did it with Ian this year so I kind of love this card.  I always dyed them with my granny so it was fun to do it with Ian with my momma here!  And he LOVED hunting them.  He really got into Easter this year and it was so fun!  He also actually sat on the Easter bunny's lap for a picture!  He isn't a fan of Santa but I think it's because he's a person.  He seems ok with totally non-person characters lol!

I inked with versamark then basic black and embossed with clear powder on watercolor paper then just used a bunch of inks to color them.  Pretty simple.

And I'm sad to see that kraft paper retire!  If you don't have any, you better grab some!

Happy stamping!

Fab Friday 110

Hi stampers!  Happy Friday!  I actually stamped in my very-much-a-mess-but-kind-of-functional stamp room!  I spent most of Thursday setting things up and unpacking.  I had spent the previous days on other rooms and still have miles to go almost everywhere in the house, eek!  But anyway, I had to get set up for Fab Friday!  We have some fun colors for you this week!

I know it's a lot of colors but you can do it :-)  I mean come on, if I did in the state of my studio/house then you got it ;-)

And in case you don't like this one...you can use the one I originally intended but with my moving brain I screwed up!  LOL!  Man, I feel bad for the team on this one.  I got cross eyed and put two challenges together I think.  Anyway, this is the one I wish I'd done and more what my inspiration photo was like...sigh....

So, this week you can pick either challenge!

I used the Eastern beauty stamp set because new stuff is fun and because I thought it would look great in these colors!

You can see on the detailed picture that I had some little boo-boos on my pool party dots.  I didn't fix it because, well things are crazy now :-)  Hope you'll forgive me!

Make sure you go and play along with us ok!  And come help me if you're in Oklahoma, hahahaha!

Spritzed Succulents - ADT Corporate Blog Post

Hi stampers!

So we are smack dab in the middle of our move and I've been without internet and totally overwhelmed in boxes and forgot that my Artisan corporate post was going live! You can see it here or on the SU homepage. There isn't ANY stamping as all my stuff is packed up in my new studio so at least I can share this! Hope you love it and I'm SO honored to have done one of these!

I’m one of those people obsessed with succulents right now so I knew I wanted to do something with them for you but not the same old same old.  As I was playing around with my live love grow set (141905), I thought about spraying them with a stampin’ spritzer (126185) and I LOVED the effect!

I probably made no less than a million of these!  It’s so fun to play around with color combinations and no two will look alike, which I love! I stamped my succulents on our water color paper (122959) in combinations of mint macaron (138326), old olive (126953), and always artichoke (126972) using our classic stampin pads.

Don’t be afraid to experiment with colors and with different levels of saturation.  Start off with just a little spray and go from there.  I got a little heavy handed a few times and it didn’t end well.  You can always add more water but you can’t take it back!  You can see that some of them bled and blended more than others.  The look is subtle and soft and I just love it.

I then cut each one out with our stitched framelit dies (145372).  I accented my cards with the succulent garden designer series paper (142778), succulent garden ⅜” ribbon (142781), classy designer buttons (138393), and linen thread (104199).  I used my stitched dies again to make a few accents as well.  Finally, I punched out my sentiments with the classic label punch (141491) for a fun and modern look.

Here’s a little tip for cutting banners using the big shot (143263) and your layering squares framelit dies (141708).  Simply take a strip of paper and line a die up with the edges to make your V cut.  You’ll have a perfect corner every time!

I used the live, love, grow set but since we have another amazing succulent set in the Occasions Catalog, you could totally use oh so succulent (142992) as well.  Here’s a card I made with it instead.

Thanks so much for joining me today and I hope that you’ll spritz a few succulents of you own!

Happy stamping!

Finally Friday!

Hi stampers!  This has been the slowest week ever since I'm so looking forward to closing on our house!  It stinks that we can't move in until Monday but at least we can go there and just sit there lol! Well, Jon can over the weekend.  I'm taking off for a 7+ hour drive to pick my mom up and bring her back on Sunday for the movers on Monday.  She is refusing to drive in or around St. Louis which is on the way OR fly by herself for the first time lol!  She thinks she can't do either but I know she could...but she's stubborn ;-)  My step dad is on a fishing trip so he can't come...we always have SUCH good timing, ha!  Oh well, no stamping time this weekend and no OnStage for me, just a lot of time in the car!

I've got a super simple card to share because that's all I've been able to muster lol!

I think it's pretty cute though!

Speaking of cute, make sure you check out the ADT blog hop from yesterday if you missed it!  It's a sneak peek of a bundle from the new catalog and I LOVE it!  It also has three of the five new in colors!   I saw a little talk of people being PO'd there were no longer 5 colors, LOL!  Fear not, they are only teasing us with three of the five!!!!!

Happy stamping!
