I Love This Card Watts & Watts

Hi stampers!  Do you ever make a card and amaze even yourself?  I've really been struggling with my creativity and will to stamp (lol) so to speak!  I sat down Saturday to stamp and didn't get much accomplished so I took a break and cleaned up my stampin' space which needed to be done badly!  And then I just played around with some things for a while.  I didn't get anything actually made but I did make the focal point on this card with some Brusho.

The Watts of Occasions Stamp Set is in the annual catalog and surprise, I'd kind of forgotten about it.  But how perfect is it for Valentine's Day????  I embossed it in clear powder and then used the red and yellow brushos.  I did the red first and let it dry a while and then added the yellow.  The red was initially more defined in the heart but I had to add more water for the yellow so it blended and spread more.  At first I was a little miffed but I still think it looks really cool.  That's the fun of Brusho...it's like Forrest Gump and his box of chocolate...you never know what you're gonna get :-)

I layered that on some of the Myths & Magic Glimmer Paper, which isn't showing up well in the photo.  And my background was applied with a sponge in Craft Ink and I embossed it in clear powder as well.  It's very subtle and kind of cool looking, I think.

Hopefully my "clean" space will inspire more creativity and experiments....and as a side note, one of Ian's favorite words right now is experiment :-)  I have no idea where he got it from but he talks about let's do an experiment all the time and it's the cutest thing :-)

Petal Passion Paper

Hi stampers!  How's that for alliteration?  Stampin' Up likes to do that :-) But have you SEEN this DSP?  It's amazing.  Personally, I love a good black and white print because it's so versatile and modern!  What's also fantastic about this paper is how you can color it!  Can you believe I colored this DSP with my Blends markers?  Add to the fact that I color about as good as a first grader (I am at least a little better than Ian lol) and it makes it all that more remarkable!  Isn't it gorgeous!?!?!  There is some shading on the paper already that looks like you REALLY know what you're doing when you color ;-)

Do yourself a favor and grab a pack of this paper!  The geometric designs are great for backgrounds and the florals are great for backgrounds or your main image, such as here!

Mailable Monday - Sure Do Love You

Hi stampers!  Happy Monday!  It's a new week over here and I'm preeeety glad!  Jon was gone ALL last week and I do NOT adult well alone!  I usually have my mom visit or go to her house if he's going to be gone (even for one night lol) but it just didn't work out this time and being eight hours away versus four and no Amtrak, makes it even harder!  So, I didn't stamp or blog much...or get anything else done ;-)   And speaking of my mom, I reallllly miss her and home!  I haven't been home since Thanksgiving with Jon's melanoma scare and that's a LONG time for me, especially when I'm usually gone two weeks over Christmas!  We've been busy this month and then I have a wedding in February so I didn't want to make the trek too many times right in a row.

Anyway, I'm happy to have my partner home this week!  Ian is pretty good company these days but it's nice to have adult conversation and moral support, too ;-)  Hopefully, I'll have plenty of motivation this week to do all kinds of stuff, including stamping!

For this card, I used my Brusho Crystal Color for my background.  I love how it looks more pink than red (which is the actual color of the powder).  I had seen a friend of mine post a card where she mopped up the excess water instead of just letting it dry and it made it more pink, so I used a paper towel and that's what I did!  These backgrounds are just so fun!

Picture Perfect

Hi stampers!  I just love the Picture Perfect Birthday Suite!  If you didn't know, one side of this paper was made with pictures of various things like candles and party hats and confetti and donuts.  The artist actually made all of the paper things out of the reverse side of this paper which is just various patterns in fun colors!  How cool is that?  And the paper itself and the photos are gorgeous, like these candles here!

I just love the fun and bright colors!  If you purchase all the fun things in the suite, you're well on your way to earn the "level 2" Celebrate You Thinlit Dies which are SO FUN!  You should note that they will be in the next catalog but why not earn them for FREE now!

My birthday is quickly approaching and sadly, this paper doesn't have near enough candles, HA!  I'd totally be willing to skip it this year! ;-)

Happy stamping!
