Storms Of Life

Hi stampers!  The title of my post is basically the theme for this week weather wise here in Tulsa.  I love spring but I hate storms!  And I really dislike dreary days when they just keep goooooiiiinnnnggggg.  If things continue like this like they are supposed to, I won't have any light to take photos all week.

Anyway, I'm sharing a make and take from OnStage today.  They actually didn't have the dies at the event so I waited until I got home and got my order to finish this card, which I did over the weekend.

This suite really isn't super "me" but the samples on the cover of the catalog and the suite's page inside did me in!  I figured it was a good masculine set to have as well.

This sample is notecard size.  The background is watercolored in Balmy Blue, I think.  I've slept since the event, ha!  I really like the dies that come with this bundle!  It's the Come Sail Away Suite in case I didn't mention it,  I can't add most of this to the supply list so I'll do a little bullet list here:

  • Sailing Home Bundle (Sailing Home Stamp Set & Smooth Sailing Dies)
  • Come Sail Away DSP
  • Baker's Twine (Night of Navy and Sahara Sand)
  • Sail Away Trinkets
  • Watercolor Paper
  • Whisper White Cardstock
  • Crumb Cake Cardstock
  • Soft Suede Cardstock
  • Balmy Blue Cardstock
  • Night Of Navy Inkpad
  • Soft Suede Inkpad
  • Balmy Blue Inkpad
I love the stitched accents in some of these dies!  And this DSP is gorgeous!  I really don't think this card does it justice!  Some of the colors and prints are just so pretty!

In Color Desert

Hi stampers!  Happy Monday!  It sure is a Monday and I'm IN A MOOD for various reasons!  Hopefully, I'll have a few minutes to zone out in my craft room, we'll see.  I'm probably still in emotional distress from Endgame over the weekend haha!  I'm a crier at TV and movies (and anything really) so I spent most of the three hours in tears.  Anyone else?

Anyway, I did get a little bit of stamping done over the weekend and I combined a few of my favorite things, old and new, together!

I am really sad that Flowering Desert is going away after the Occasions Catalog.  If there were one must have, I say it's it!  I combined it here with some of our new in colors!

My background was made by simple putting a few drops of Seaside Spray Reinker on my Silicone Craft Mat and adding some water and swishing it around.  I just put my Watercolor Paper right on it, press down then lift up.  Easy watercoloring.

You'll find Seaside Spray, Purple Posy, Terracotta Tile, and Rococo Rose used here with some core colors.

It's a different look than what I've done previously with this set but I like it!

Fab Friday 162

Hi stampers!  Happy Friday!  It's been a pretty busy week here.  Figures since I got some new stuff and haven't really had time to use it much.  Anyway, it's time for another challenge over at Fab Friday!  I just love these colors together!

Sadly, I do not love my card.  At all.  LOL!  Since I was so busy it was crunch time to make one and I had a couple of backgrounds that turned out so well but I got too complicated and stamped on them and didn't end up liking the end result and then just couldn't get either one to work on a card.  I finally ran out of time and this is where we ended up.  Don't judge LOL!  Sometimes you learn the hard way to leave well enough alone, right?

Gah, it's even worse posted here.  LOL!  Oh well.  I tried really hard to use a set that was retiring so I chose Another Wonderful Year and tried to do an ombre type technique with the sentiment..  Meh, lol!

Anyway, PLEASE show me all the amazing things you'll do with this combo and play along with us!

Fancy Friday - For Family

Hi stampers!  Happy Friday!  I've finally gotten it together to join the Fancy Friday Team! If you didn't know, we are a group of past and current Artisan Design Team members who like to hop and get fancy!

This month's theme is for family so cards for family members.  I made a Mother's Day card for my momma because we received the Mosaic Mood Specialty Designer Series Paper at OnStage.  It's probably not one I would have purchased on my own BUT as soon as I saw it, I knew my mom would love it.  She loves birds, especially hummingbirds.  She has many feeders at her farm and MANY birds.  They are feisty little things and swoop and buzz and fight over the food.  It's one of my favorite things to do in the summer, sit on her porch and watch them!  I love the little chirps they make at each other, too!

Anyway, I fussy cut the bird and the flowers out of the DSP which is a great use.  Of course, there are stamps that go with the paper BUT I love how our products can stand and shine on their own as well!

My background looks fancy but was made easily with a little bit of our Brusho Crystal Color.  I just spritzed my watercolor paper a bit and then shook out some color.  I love that the yellow has just a few sprinkles of a red tint that pull in the colors from the DSP.

I added my sentiment (once I knew it was good and dry or it will spread)  from Strong and Beautiful which is in the Occasions Catalog.  It really says exactly how I feel about my momma!

A few pearls from the Share What You Love Artisan Pearls finished it off.  Can you see I tried to use some things here that are retiring with the new DSP?  Make sure you grab those things before they are gone and I LOVE that our products flow together so seamlessly it doesn't matter if they are old or new!  I also purposefully tried to use not a lot of products but still make a fancy card and I think I did.  To me, the way that DSP is printed, really makes it look like the bird is flying off the paper!

Make sure to check out my Instagram at BadaBingPaperCrafting to see another fun view of this paper!

Now you're off to see my fancy friend, Rhoda!  You're going to love what she has for you!

Happy Stamping!

Bye Bye Birthday Cheer

Hi stampers!  I'm trying to use a lot of my goodies that are retiring!  This includes the Birthday Cheer Stamp Set and the 6x6 paper stacks!  I combined them into this card!

Tip:  I mounted the DSP on a cardbase of Thick Whisper White Cardstock.

This grouping of in colors are not my favorite but I thought it's probably time I get to using them so I did!  This is kind of bright for me but I don't hate it!

Are you frantically trying to use up retiring items?

Blue Bird Ballad - Sneak Peek

Hi stampers!  I know, I know!  I've been majorly slacking!  I've just not been into stamping or blogging lately.  I don't know why but sometimes it just happens.  BUT, Onstage was motivating as always so I'm going to try to pick things back up.  The retiring list always makes me sad but I'm always excited for new stuff, too!  Like the Bird Ballad Suite.  I got to play with the stamp set for the make and take and was lucky enough to be able to take the stamp set home from our table supplies!  I also won the Birch Background Stamp as my prize patrol!

My mom inspired this one since she loves birds, especially bluebirds!

I've paired it with a couple of retiring products and a couple that are carrying over!  I'm sad to see Banners For You retiring so I made sure to dig it out for at least one more go-round!  The Well Said Bundle is carrying over BUT it will no longer be at a bundle discount in the new Annual Catalog so if you want the 10% off, get it now!

I'm also super sad the current DSP 6x6 color family stacks are retiring and changing prints.  I LOVE the current ones.  Oh well.  Get ready to see a lot of that paper since I have a lot to use ;-)

I'm going to try to still stamp with a lot of outgoing products since I need to use them up!  And I hope to sneak in some sneak peeks as well!

What are you sad that is retiring?  What are you excited to see?

Happy stamping!
