Have yourself a freaky little Christmas!

Hi stampers!  It's time for the Control Freaks blog hop!  We go live on the evening of the 19th but it's technically the 20th so make sure you come back to make sure everything is working a-ok!

You may have come from my stampy BFF Wendy's blog, weren't her projects merry???  Don't worry if you're starting here though as technically I'm first this time, we make a nice little loop so just keep clicking and you'll get all the way around!

Since the holidays are fast approaching, the theme this month is Christmas of course!  I have decided that Christmas stamping is my JAM and my favorite thing to do.  I tend to make more Christmas cards and projects than anything.  And I always go nuts for the Holiday catalog.  It's just my M.O. I guess and not surprising.  I love Christmas and I collect Hallmark ornaments too!  Anyway, I decided to share one super simple Christmas card today and then the opposite of that :-)  Feel free to click on them to make them bigger and really see the details!

So, here's my first card.
Stampin Supplies:
Stamps: Seasonal snapshot 2015
Paper:  Whisper white (heavy)
Ink:  Real red, pool party, crushed curry, mossy meadow
Accessories:  Gold sequin trim

I used the seasonal snapshot (2015) Project Life set which I LOVE!  It's so great for cards in addition to using with the PL cards!  I cased this card from a pin pinned by SU.  I'm 99% certain it's straight from SU and I'm not casing another demo.  IF I'm wrong feel free to let me know :-)  I love the tradition colors with non-traditional ones like yellow and blue.  It's just happy and merry!

My other project uses one of my other favorite things in the holiday catalog, the home for Christmas suite.  I just LOVE the vintage/retro look of it and those Santas and deer are just the most adorable things ever.  I know you may have seen this background with this suite from me a lot but one, it works, and two, I had some left over from my Control Freaks swap (which I'm not sure I've shared or the prototype either).  I pretty much just piled everything possible on this one :-)

Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps: Holly jolly greetings
Paper:  Very vanilla, pool party, red foil, home for Christmas DSP
Ink:  Pool party, mossy meadow
Accessories:  Tea lace doilies, foil dolies, home for Christmas enamel dots, gold thread, happy patterns mask, Christmas greetings thinlits, snowflake elements

I just am in love with the red foil paper, I mean I want to marry it! It's so gorgeous!  I finally broke out my Christmas greeting thinlits too!  I've cheaped out and not bought the  precision plate for thinlit dies...so I have a little tip for you if you don't use it either.  The design on the die will leave little imprints in the holes in the die.  I just took my bone folder and really carefully rubbed them out.  Perfection!  And it's hard to see but there is a bow made out of the gold thread in the snowflake ;-)

Ok, now it's time to go check out LeeAnn's blog and her awesome projects!

Happy stamping!

It's Freakin' Fall!

Hi stampers!  I'm so ready for fall and it seems to be taking it's sweet time getting here.  It felt like summer was never going to get here this past year and while I'm sad about not being able to take my little guy to the pool, I'm so ready for crisp temps and all things fall!  I may be itching to wear all the fun new fall clothes I've acquired too...bring on the boots and the layers!

Anyway, since we're celebrating fall with our Control Freaks blog hop this month!  Fall and the holidays is the theme this time around which is right up my alley ;-)

The tour actually goes live on the 20th so make sure to check back then if you pop in early just in case there are any bugs we had to work out ;-) You may have clicked on over from Connie's blog, weren't her projects fabulous?  If you didn't, don't worry as we make a never ending circle so just keep clicking!

My first card is actually one of two recent Control Freak swaps we just sent off.

Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Thankful forest friends
Paper:  Whisper white, old olive, soft suede, into the woods DSP
Ink:  Soft sude, old olive, tangerine tango
Accessories: Linen thread, into the woods cotton ribbon, woodland embossing folder

The fox is fussy cut and yes, I cut 20+ of them :-)  I based the main part of the card off of the little Christmas make and take from convention.  It was so cute!

My second card is pretty simple but I kind of love it.

Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps: Acorny thank you
Paper:  Whisper white, crumb cake, blackberry bliss, kraft
Ink:  Soft suede, hello honey, rich razzleberry
Accessories:  Acorn builder punch, linen thread

And there you have it.  Make sure to click on over to Heidi's blog to see her amazing projects if you haven't already!

Thanks for joining us and happy stamping!

Freaking Excited!

Hi stampers!  The new catalog is just a few weeks away and I've been able to play with a few of my pre order goodies as of late!  And even more exciting is that you'll get to see so much more since it's time for the Control Freaks Blog Hop!

I'm sandwiched in between Deb and Debbie…hehe.  If you didn't come from Deb's blog and her amazing projects, make sure you keep clicking and make your around or click the link and go backwards if that's your style.  My mom is crazy like that and reads the newspaper back to front, lol!

Now onto what I have to share with you!

I really like the look of "chalkboard" with the new boho stuff!  The colors are so bright yet rich!  The new set makes it really easy to get the chalkboard look too, with just some white craft ink and black card stock!  I've used this layout a lot.  It helps to have some favorites to fall back on when you're not feeling super creative which has been me lately.

Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Friendly wishes
Paper:  Whisper white, rich razzleberry
Ink:  White craft
Accessories: Linen thread, chalk talk framelits, bohemian washi tape

My other project is tiny and cute :-)  I LOVE the new Ronald McDonald set!  I'm not always a fan of the set which kind of makes me sad since it's a great cause but this one is ADORABLE!  This will be the perfect card for a little birthday gift or even on a gift bag!  The tree is the new in colors mint macaron and tip top taupe…how fun is that to say?  LOL!  Oh and the bird is delightful dijon AND you can punch all of that out with the new tree builder punch! SO FUN!!!!!

Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Sprinkles of life
Paper:  Whisper white, crumb cake, tip top taupe, delightful dijon, mint macaron
Ink:  Blushing bride, pool party, tip top taupe, delightful dijon, mint macaron
Accessories:  Tree builder punch

Now, if you're not like my mom and want to hop forward click on over to Debbie's blog and see her awesome projects!

Thanks for joining us and happy stamping!

Don't Freak Out!

Hi stampers!  Don't freak out but I'm posting more than once in a week :-)  I wanted to join the Control Freaks in this month's blog hop!

We are all about celebrations this month!  There's a lot coming up to celebrate like graduations and Mother's Day and birthdays are always a reason to celebrate!  You may have come from my wonderful friend Wendy's blog, weren't her projects so cute?  If you didn't, don't worry as we make a loop so keep clicking and you'll work your way around.

First up is a card for Mother's Day.  I'm a little late to the party with the wreath framelits and stamps but I finally got them because I wanted to do spring wreaths.  Here's my first attempt to play with them.  I thought they would make a great Mother's Day card!

I used baked brown sugar, pear pizzazz, old olive, blushing bride and coastal cabana.  I think they make a great spring pallet.

And for my other project I actually did something other than a card!  I also finally bought the gift card framelit. And to tell on myself…until I sat down last night I totally forgot I ordered it, lol!  I was looking at the gift card set in the occasions mini and thought to myself, didn't I get something to use with this????  Haha!  There is was, hiding in the box.

I used some of the outgoing in colors just because I can :-)  I sure hope some (ok all) of these stick around!  I can't wait to stick a gift card in here for someone special!  This little die just makes the cutest little pocket for them and they are so easy to put together!  Even if you didn't have time to decorate it you could just use patterned paper!  It would still be cute and fun and better than a plain old gift card stuck in a card like I'm often guilty of, hehe!

Speaking of birthday's, I think I mentioned (or did I, you know I can't remember, lol) that we went back home last weekend to celebrate my Dad's birthday and his 28 years of service to our church through the children's choir.  Here's a little picture of us with my dad and step mom.  I haven't done a very good job of updating about Ian and family going ons.  I'll try to do better :-)  He's getting so big.  And the grandparents weren't happy at all…. :-)

Now, head on over and see what LeeAnn has in store for you.  I can tell you it's going to be great!

Happy stamping!
