Fancy Friday - Christmas-y Challenge

Hi stampers!  Happy Friday!  Happy Fancy Friday (or Thursday if you're reading this the night it goes live ;-)!  That's right, it's time for a Fancy Friday Blog Hop!

If you came from Jennifer's blog, didn't you just love her project?  Don't worry if you're just hopping on now though, just keep clicking through the links to see everyone!  And if you're new, we are group of current and past Artisan Design Team members who love to bring you fancy creations every now and then!

The theme this time was something with a Christmas theme which is right up my alley.  I remembered that I had picked up a few fun items last year (edited to add: I found these at Michael's but it was last year.  I'm sure you can find similar items there this year and other craft stores.  I do not know what size they are, there was not one listed.  They appear to be around 4".)  but never got around to making anything with them so I went to hunt them down, which was no easy task, lol!  I finally found them and decided to do a kind of snow globe!

The Signs of Santa Bundle was more than perfect for this task and I was excited to finally put it to use!  I simple colored and cut out the jolly old guy and made my little North Pole sign.  I also remembered I had these trees for photos so I simply stuck one on with a little Tombow Glue!

I made my items stand up by not QUITE cutting them out all the way.  I simply ran them through my big shot and backed them out before I had cut quite all the way through.  That takes a bit of trial and error but it's not too hard.  Hopefully you get the idea from this photo:

I did a little bit of hand trimming and then scored where I wanted the fold and there you have a standing Santa!

For good measure, I added a little bit of snow that I had lying around but I made sure I had a good layer of glue do it didn't shake around and stick to the inside of the globe.  A little bit of Real Red ribbon was all I needed to finish it off.  I'm excited to add this to my Christmas decor this year!  I hope it inspires you to try a bit of decor as well, especially with this bundle!

Now it's time to hop over to my friend Sue and see her amazing project!

Happy hopping!

No Tricks Just Treats

Hi stampers!  It's almost Halloween!  I figured I'd finally share my cute little Halloween class I had.  I wanted to do something easy for new stampers but cute at the same time. I settled on the matchbooks I've done before for Annie's gummy snacks because they were bats this year and we have the bat punch!

I had the hardest time getting these to photograph well.  Gorgeous grape doesn't seem to want to cooperate!  Anyway, here it is!

And you can see the candy here.  I simply staple one in.  I've made these before and posted all the measurements there so I'm not going to do a tutorial today.  Basically, you just have to measure your treats and go from there.  I cut them at 3" x 8.5" this time and scored according to the size of the package this year.  I leave one quarter inch for the fold over at top.

I think all of my class participants liked them!  They were also pleased to see the bat punch and the fact that it cuts out all three bats at once :-)  I did add one little extra, and had them sponge the moon for more definition.  It really made a difference and they all liked the depth it added.  I hope all their favorite boys and ghouls like their treats!

And if you're looking for a quick but cute treat, matchboxes are the way to go!

Halloween Pillow Box Treat

Hi stampers!  Happy Monday and happy birthday to my momma!  She'll never see this of course, but you can send her some good birthday vibes :-)  I just came back from her house yesterday so I'm sad I missed her actual birthday by one day!  And it's why I didn't blog last week.  I actually planned to but we kept pretty busy and Ian doesn't have to have such a strict (and early) bed time there anymore so I had like ZERO time in the evening to do anything, lol!  I kind of miss him going to bed at 7 ;-)

Anyway, I'm back home now and I'll have to unpack everything, my very least favorite!  Maybe I'll skip that for a bit and stamp, ha!

I can't believe how fast Halloween is approaching and I have a cute little treat today!  I just LOVE these Pillow Boxes.  They go with ANYTHING in kraft and white polka dots!  You just fold them up, pop something inside, and embellish them!

I had sort of forgotten about this punch and stamp set but it was perfect for this!  Need some easy treats?  Look no further!

Stampin with Framelits

Hi stampers!  Here we are at the start of another week and I'm behind as usual :-)  But getting a post up late is better than never I suppose!  I made this pillow box up a while back and never got around to sharing it.  I LOVE our little Kraft Pillow Boxes in the Annual Catalog, I mean you can't go wrong with kraft and polka dots!  All you have to do is fold them up and embellish them and you have the prefect gift card, treat, or trinket holder!

I did something a little odd here and I stamped with a framleit.  Say what?  Yup.  It wasn't perfect but I think it totally worked!  It's subtle but I like it that way.  I used one of our Uninked Spectrum Pads, which if you haven't tried out, are so cool!  You can make them in any spectrum you want with your ink refills!

My colors were Poppy Parade, Mango Melody, Lemon Lime Twist, Coastal Cabana, and Gorgeous Grape.  It's SUCH a fun and bright spectrum!  After I inked it up and stamped it, I cut it out by hand.  I layered it on some Glimmer Paper and added a few more accents and it was prefect!

Have you tried the pillow boxes yet?  And will you try stamping with dies?

Pillow Talk

Hi stampers! Before we get started, let's take a moment to remember our country on this dark day.  We will never forget 9/11.   I'll also never forget my sweet, sweet Grandma Bingamon who was born on 9/11.  You'd be hard pressed to meet a better person than her, so I like to think that her being born on this day makes up just a little bit of the ugliness that has tarnished this date!  I miss her every day and I aspire to be like her! <3 p="">
And now onto my project for today.  I don't often do non-card projects but really, I need to!  The great thing about SU is that you can make your own detailed boxes OR you can fancy up a pre-made item like this pillow box!

I plan on putting a gift card for a friend in this one but there are so many fun little things you can tuck into it!  Aren't the polka dots with the kraft color just the best?  I do have a retired product (eek) because I didn't get this shared in time.  But, you could cut out an oval or any other shape to recreate this!  I just cut a belly band from DSP and wrapped it around my pillow box and then glued my label on after it'd punched a couple of holes for the ribbon.  You'll want to glue it down so it doesn't fall off and then tie the bow!  I also finally broke out my corrugated embellishments!

Isn't this just the cutest?
