Fab Friday 171

Hi stampers!  Happy Friday!  It's a happy day around here as Jon comes home from being in Belgium all week!  Yay!  And followed by a long weekend!  It's also time for a new Fab Friday challenge!  We have a sketch this time!

I've had this background just waiting to be made into a card!  I'll link the video I did a few weeks ago for the masks and Pigment Sprinkles below!  It's such a fun technique!  This sketch was perfect for this background because it doesn't need much to make it stand out!  For my letters, I just stamped them and cut them out with the dies, then you can just trim off the layering parts leaving just the letters.

I stuck pretty true to the sketch and didn't need much to finish this one off!  Hope you like it!  And I hope you play along with us and check out what the rest of the team did!

Here's the video which works for any of our masks, this is just the one I chose to use!

Fancy Friday - For the Guys

Hi stampers!  Happy Friday (or Thursday night if you're a bit early;-)!  It's time for another edition of the Fancy Friday Blog Hop and I was actually organized enough to participate this month!  If you're new to the hop, we are a group of past and current Artisan Design Team Members who love to show you fun stuff once a month!  Keep clicking and soon you'll have traveled all around the globe and seen a bunch of amazing projects!

This month's theme is for the men and masculine cards.  When I saw the Wrapped in Plaid DSP in the Holiday Catalog, I immediately thought how great it would be for any kind of masculine cards, not just Christmas (which of course, is what I did here though).  I also thought it was perfect to pair with Rustic Retreat!   I suppose what I did isn't super fancy but I still love it!

I colored with Blends on Crumb Cake.  I will say, the crumb cake seems to absorb and spread more than Whisper White, so just be careful getting close to the lines.  You can see mine went over a bit but I didn't care as I think it makes it just a bit more rustic looking.  I also added some Shimmery Crystal Effects for a little bit of snow or ice on the roof of my cabin.  A couple of stars from the Snowflake Sequins were the perfect finishing touch.

It's time to move on over to Jeanna and you are going to LOVE what she has for you!

Thanks for hopping with us and we hope you're inspired to make a few masculine cards!

Check You Out

Hi stampers!  Happy Thursday!  It's Thursday, right?  HA!  I'm not used to having Ian in school four days in a row yet and now a short week is going to really throw me next week!  I meant to have a post for you yesterday but I got a headache Tuesday night which turned into a migraine over night and I was up for hours in pain and got sick!  UGH!  I haven't gotten sick from a headache in a very long time and I'm really hoping it doesn't become a "thing" again.   Thankfully, my mom is here visiting so she could help me out.  I was able to do a little stamping today as well as take a nap which I never do!

Anyway, I've been meaning to share this card for a while because I'm in LOVE with this guy!  I left this off of my initial Annual Catalog order and that was SO STUPID!  He's so cute and I love books.  I also love that this set is perfect for #simplestamping!  I actually have very few just stamp and go sets and you NEED to add this one to your collection!

Seriously, I just can't with this card!  It's so simple and so cute!  I adore these colors together and they are making me long for fall or at least for some cooler temperatures!  You could step this one up a bit by cutting out the books and popping them up and adding a sentiment popped up as well.

A+ Teacher

Hi stampers!  Ian started his second year of pre-k yesterday.  He could have started kindergarten but as a really young 5, we didn't think it was the best idea.  He also has some sensory and motor issues so we are working on that.  I think a growth year (obviously not physically since he is in like the 96th percentile for height hahaha) will be so great for him to really succeed in school!

Anyway, I'm pretty sure he's grown sick of me everyday over the summer :-)  He barely told me goodbye and when I asked him how his first day was, he answered with, "it was a piece of cake!"  Ha!

I got the idea for this card from the catalog but changed it up to a regular sized card.  Of course, I forgot to take it with us.  I'm lucky I remembered him, his lunch, and his backpack ;-)  But I really did love this card with the Terracotta Tile gingham DSP!

For my apples, I used sponge daubers to add my color and blend.  I started each one with Daffodil Delight and then blended with Granny Apple Green and Real Red.

Now, will I remember to take this to school with us???  If you need a cute teacher card, this one is great!

Happy stamping!
