Resolutions

Hi stampers and happy 2014!  So I kind of unofficially took the holidays off from stamping and blogging and I'm not sorry :-)  Sometimes you just need a break, right?  And I know I've said it a million times but life is kind of nuts right now with eventually moving.

I'm a planner and I HATE not really having a plan or knowing when things are going to happen.  That's probably the biggest reason I haven't stamped or blogged.  I tend to feel overwhelmed when I'm not sure what's going on and I kind of just don't do anything, lol!  But I'm going to work on getting over that....because really it makes no sense right?  I should do SOMETHING just to do something.  Anyone else like that?  It's like I can't focus on the task at hand because I'm distracted thinking about how I hate not having a plan, lol!

I had plans to stamp yesterday but after hauling my behind to the gym where I spent a lot of extra time chatting with an old friend from school (which is a big deal for me because I'm a get in, get my workout done, get out kinda girl in the gym....drives me nuts when people just chat it up there, lol....whoops) and then I had some shopping to take care of.  All was going well until I sat down for a minute and saw The Lord of the Rings movies were on.  Ugh!  I've seen them a jillion times but I love them!  Not sure why but they suck me in!  Every.  Time.  So I couch surfed for the rest of the day....again, lol!

So, I don't usually make resolutions because let's face it, I never keep them, lol!  BUT this year I think I'll try to have a few goals.  The first which I posted to facebook is one I KNOW I can keep....I vow to wear sweatpants more (as if that were possible, lol)!  Pretty sure I can keep that one until it gets warm ;-)  But in all seriousness, I'm going to try to make myself stamp and blog at least a few times a week if not more and I really need to get getter about SENDING cards.  What's the point of the thousands I have if I don't send them.  I still owe my stamping bestie a birthday card!!!!!  I really need to try to grow my business as well but that might have to wait until the move with things up in the air!  Ok, enough of my ramblings right?

Anyway, how about a card?  I've had this one made for a while with the another thank you photopolymer set.

Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Another thank you photopolymer
Paper:  Whisper white, basic black, coastal cabana, strawberry slush
Ink:  Whisper white craft
Accessories:  Whisper white embossing powder, itty bitty punch pack (I think), chalk marker, dazzling details

It's hard to see but there's some sparkle on the heart.  I'm kind of obsessed with the chalkboard technique.  I really should shoot a video.  It's really pretty easy as I just sponge craft ink on the black cardstock.  I'm not sure how others do it but that's how I do it!  I want to make my own real chalkboard for the new house too!

Ok, time to go teach at the gym if I can get out of my drive with the snow!!!

Happy new year and happy stamping!

Thankful Thursday

Hi stampers!  I'm still on a roll with fall/thanksgiving/thank you cards!  I really like the way this one turned out!  Although I can't say the same for the photo...I'm still having issues with my editing program or the way my pictures are coming from my phone.  Not sure which it is!  I need to ask the Bada-Bing IT department....aka the hubs ;-)

Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Truly grateful, fabulous phrases
Paper:  Whisper white, sahara sand,
Ink:  Whisper white craft, basic black
Accessories:  Thankful tablescape kit, autumn accents bigz die, linen thread, chalk marker

I'm kind of obsessed with the birchwood paper from the tablescape kit and of course with chalkboard looking stuff both of which you have probably already figured out if you've seen my blog lately :-)  The little placard from the kit also makes a really easy "chalkboard".  I just stamped on it and used my chalk marker (that thing is cool) to draw some lines on it.

Happy stamping!

Confession Friday

Hi stampers!  I have a confession...or two!  I'm obsessed with chalk board stuff right now!  Chalkboard cards and home decor prints specifically!  I've been playing in MDS for home decor items and making up lots of cards!  I hope you won't get tired of them when I share, ha!  For whatever reason chalkboard stuff is hot right now and I have to say I love the look!  Now, if I can just get my MDS stuff finalized and sent to print!  I'm kind of bad about that...guess that's yet another confession.

And while we are talking obsessions I might as well tell you I'm totally obsessed with the endless wishes photopolymer set!  It was SO popular it was sold out last week!  But it's back now so make sure to get yours!  You can make endless combinations with the greetings!  I love it!

So, I couldn't wait to combine a couple of my obsessions into this chalkboard card using the set!  It has a major chalkboard look!

Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Endless wishes
Paper:  Whisper white, basic black, coastal cabana
Ink:  Craft white
Accessories:  White embossing powder, basic rhinestones

The chalkboard look is really easy to do.  If I can find my memory card I'll try to make a video!  It makes a big impact too, I think!  I just love this!  I think I should have added some real red but I'm not sure where.

So what are you obsessed with right now????

Happy stamping!

In need of some sunshine!

Hi stampers!  I've got another card with the single sunshine stamp.  Why?  Well because we got some snow!  I'm so over snow....I want spring and sun!!!!  I like snow at Christmas and it's about it, ha!   I'm also ready to run outside and it's just been too cold to bring myself to do it and now that there's white stuff on the ground it's really not going to happen!

I also tried a new technique for this card....the chalkboard technique!  Chalkboards are ALL the rage right now so I had to hop on the wagon and this stamp works great for it!

Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Sunshine (single stamp)
Paper:  Basic black, pool party, polka dot parade DSP, brights and 2011-2013 in colors DSP stacks
Ink:  Craft whisper white
Accessories:  Pennant builder punch, pool party baker's twine, subtles glimmer brads (retired), white embossing powder

It's actually really easy and I think it looks so cool!  You simply take some basic black cardstock and emboss your image with white embossing powder.  After it cools for a few minutes then you sponge the edges with white craft ink and then use a sponge to gently swipe a bit of the ink all over the cardstock to give it a look of chalk dust.  So easy!  And I have to say I really find the results stunning!  Just remember to have a light hand with the sponging.  You can always keep adding more but you can't take it off if you go too heavy!

Happy stamping!
