Farewell Favorite Colors

Hi stampers!  Here's another card I made using retiring items.  This was the most fun card I've put together in a long time!

I'm pretty sad to see this collection of in colors go and I'm hoping I see at least a few of them back sometime!  I wouldn't be mad if we had another impromptu color change RIGHT NOW if Lemon Lime came back! HA!

I watercolored each color and let them all bleed together.  I then let it dry and came back to add some drips and splatters.  I added the smaller splatters with the markers by flicking them in their cap.  I'm not usually patient enough to do multiple layers but it's really worth it!

Some heat embossing with white powder and a few pearls finished it off!  A complicated (yet easy to do) background and a simple sentiment were perfect for each other!

Happy stamping!

Retirement Party

Hi stampers!  Well, we've had three weeks of grandparent fun but the last set went home yesterday so here's to getting back to normal and being lonely!  Maybe I can get some more stamping done though!  If the goofy bad weather stays away.  I just can't wrap my head around this flooding and it keeps raining and storming.  And I can't handle much more tornado anxiety!

Anyway I did get a good bit of stamping done a few weekends ago.  I did a thing where I tried to use up a lot of retiring items.  I need to get better at that! Anyway, I kind of had my own little retirement party in my stamp room, lol!

Let me first say, I was excited to see the masks in the new catalog!  I love those things and don't use them enough!  For this one, I did kind of a gradient or ombre thing with greens since we have to say goodby to Lemon Lime Twist (how am I to go on without it?) and Tranquil Tide.  The middle green is Call Me Clover and I just love how well it pairs with the two other greens!  I used our Stampin' Sponges and just made sure to blend where they met really well.  Such a fun look!  I also taped my mask down with washi tape.

I'm also sad to see the Celebrate You and Bunch of Banners Thinlits going as well as the stamp set!  They are all so great!

Are you using up your retiring items and putting them to good use?  Are you so sad to see Lemon Lime Twist go????

If I don't float down the river tomorrow (or blow away), I'll be back with another ;-)  And don't worry, we should be safe, from the water at least.  But please pray for the people in Tulsa who are not!

Can't Make This Up

Hi stampers!  Happy Monday!  Boy has it been crazy around here!  I've been MIA while we started off summer to a trip to Six Flags, which I may have posted about.  I got food poisoning in the middle of the night.  Then, once my parents were back here with me, we almost had a tornado form behind our house.  If that wasn't enough fun, my step dad came down with a wicked virus and guess who caught it?  I have spent the last three days feeling like I was run over.  To add insult, we had a tornado at 1am Saturday night a few blocks from our house!  That was fun!  And THEN last night, our power went out (note, we had power during said tornado...a snake managed to knock it out...you can't make this stuff up)!  YEESH!

So.  I have some stuff to share but I just haven't gotten around to doing it!  Hopefully I'll be a little less busy and stressed and sick this week to share it all!  We are still expecting rain and possible severe weather.  Please say a little prayer for those who are flooding.  It's going to get worse before it gets better!  And please pray that it STOPS storming and raining!  There are chances the next TEN days!

Anyway, here is a card I made a few weeks ago in an attempt to use up some of my retiring items!

I love the combo of tide, petal pink, and mint.  I'm going to miss Tranquil Tide a lot and I didn't use enough of this gorgeous DSP!  Make sure to cut into yours if you have some!

Fab Friday 164

Hi stampers!  Happy Friday!  I've been MIA because it's just been a crazy week!  I had every intention of blogging from our hotel while we took a little trip to Six Flags in St. Louis with my parents as is our end of school tradition but I didn't have time.  I came down with some food poisoning, eek!  Then we spent the day at the park and tried to get going early the next day to avoid bad weather driving back to Tulsa.  We still hit some and then ended up having horrible weather here Wednesday.  The river is flooding pretty badly (we are ok but close enough to make me nervous) and we almost had a tornado form basically in our back yard.  CRAZY!  So, I spent a lot of the time I was going to blog, watching the weather!

Anyway, I did manage to get a card done for Fab Friday!  Of course, my pre-order came right when I left town!  So, I pulled some of it out to play today!  But first, let me show you the colors!

It's super springy!  I feel like we passed spring or waffled back and forth between winter and summer here!  So, here's some spring from the new catalog!

I used sponge daubers to color in my flowers with the three colors.  How fun is the little cutout I used from the Perfect Parcels Die?  This was a fun and simple card and I think it works perfect with the colors!

Make sure to check out the design team and play along with us!

And let's hope the weather calms down!

Mother's Day Hibiscus

Hi stampers!  I hope you all had a great weekend!  We had a nice Mother's Day weekend, just the three of us.  We are actually seeing all three of our sets of family in the next three weeks :) so we will celebrate with all of them soon!

It's a day late but I'm sharing the card for my step mom today.  She LOVES hibiscus flowers and bright colors so this was the prefect card to make for her!

I did a good job at using some of my retiring products over the weekend!  This card features the Humming Along Stamp Set, Tropical Escape DSP, and Calypso Coral Ombre Ribbon all of which are retiring.  I love the Calypso Coral along with the greens in the DSP!  I really hope Cheryl is going to like it!

Happy stamping!
