A Card For Myself

Hi stampers!   It's been a while, I know.  Truth is I'm struggling a bit.  I don't do well when my normal routine is disrupted and moving will do that!  I also have a hard time finding a new routine!  The gym usually helps but since I'm a gym snob and picky about them I haven't found on yet.  While I love our new house it's kind of weird to not have any friends (yet) or family nearby.  It's also a bad habit of mine to get something done to about 90% then quit...aka unpacking and organizing :-)  I've kind of stalled out there and need to just suck it up and do it!  I've also been kind of avoiding a new routine I'm sure because I know in just a few months it will change BIG time again :-)  I also miss teaching aerobics but again, with what's coming I didn't want to say hey hire me for a few months then I don't know when I'll be back.......

I am planning to try to ramp up my SU business but I'm sort of waiting until we have a garage sale so one, I can clear out a TON of stuff hopefully and two, meet people!!!!!  Just found out we have a neighborhood sale the first full weekend in June so I need to get my rear in gear and get my mom up here to help me :-)

Anyway, I have stamped a little but both stamping AND blogging together is a feat in and of itself, lol! And three of the projects are for the Control Freaks hop which is officially tomorrow (but posts this evening so keep an eye out) so I couldn't show you those anyway.

But I've had this card done for a few weeks and I think I need to send it to myself :-)  I need to show my Occasions mini items a little more love!!!!

Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Geometrical
Paper:  Whisper white, bermuda bay, daffodil delight, strawberry slush, kaleidoscope DSP
Ink:  Bermuda bay, daffodil delight (markers)
Accessories:  Hexagon hive thinlit

I was at a loss how to use that bold DSP but I think it works here! And I free hand stamped the hexagon shapes on the hexagons.  I didn't want them to be perfect anyway!  And I finally broke out that die!  Just DON'T forget to use some wax paper in between it and the paper!  My first try I forgot and it was NOT coming out of there clean!

I'll be back soon!

Happy stamping!

The Return of Mailable Monday

Hi stampers and happy Monday!!!!!  I'm happy to finally try to get back to stamping and blogging!  I made TWO whole cards this weekend, lol!!!!   How sad is that, coming from someone who could crank out 10+ in a weekend.  Oh well, progress I suppose!  I had to CLEAN my stamp room (and still have a bit more to go....I left all my bills and non-fun stuff over in a pile in the corner, lol) because...well honestly because we finally had someone look at our house Saturday but honestly I needed to do it as my new cameo needed a home....oh yeah so now my printer is on the floor, lol!  Baby steps.....

Anyway, I'm hoping to be able to stamp some during the days this week since my hubby is now busy working so I need to leave him alone :-)  But, I've also got a to-do list a mile long because I was saving stuff up to keep myself busy so we'll see how that goes.  I really need to get a routine going!  It was much easier to budget my time when working because I knew I only had that little amount of time to stamp!    Now, it's kind of like, eh, I'll do it later...then later then later...you get the point, lol!   But it felt good to get organized, get out my occasions and SAB stuff, and make some things!  I had forgot I hadn't even put up my holiday things let ALONE got out the new stuff!!!!  Who AM I????

Ok, so the idea for this card came from a sample in the mini that used a different set but the same embossing folder.  I did use the retired shimmer paint to make the splatters.  I think that they used the silver ink pad on the sample but I wanted splatters instead of the look they got with the pad.  The card didn't turn out quite as "stunning" as it did in my head but it's still cute and kind of a very different look for me. And it's prettier in person although I think I should have used the green or blue for a card base....

Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Banner blast (SAB)
Paper:  Whisper white, basic black, sahara sand, crisp cantaloupe
Ink:  Pool party, crisp cantaloupe, pistachio pudding
Accessories:  Cameo, silver shimmer paint, arrows embossing folder

So, are you wondering where the big hello came from???  Do we have a new die???  Nope, I used that cameo e-cutter I got for Christmas to take an element from MDS and cut it out.  I enlarged it to the size I wanted and ta-da!  Very cool!

The little banners use a SAB set and a punch exclusive to SAB!!!  And the colors are pulled from the gorgeous SAB DSP.  By the way, the colors are totally not ones that I would put together but I LOVE them.  They are a bit retro but fresh and fun and cute!!!!!  SAB is coming right up and I need to get to work using more of the neat stuff!  I hope to show you more of that this week!  If you need catalogs, please let me know!

Happy stamping!
