Mailable Monday - Easy Events

Hi stampers! And so starts another week!  This one's sure a busy one!  We are hosting the girls basketball regional this week so I'm going to be basketballed out by Friday night!   Anyway, what a better way to start a busy week than with a simple and mail-able card!

This one is SUPER simple for me!  So simple that it makes me slightly uncomfortable to look at it....I want to stick more things on it, lol!  Now, don't take that to mean that I don't like it...I do...I just have a hard time with simple...probably why my life can be so hard occasionally, ha!!!!

So, here's a cute little Valentine....just in time!  I'm way behind on V-day cards so IF I get them out, they'll be a bit late:-)  It totally snuck up on me!!!!
Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Easy events
Paper:  Whisper white, calypso coral smooth and textured, wild wasabi, subtles DSP stack
Ink:  Staz-on, calypso coral, wild wasabi, crumb cake
Accessories:  Triple heart punch, labels collection framelits, dotted scallop border punch, illuminate smooch accent ink

The one detail you probably can't see is that the little heart on the tree and the textured calypso heart are covered in the smooch accent ink.  It adds a nice little shimmer.

Ok, I gotta run and stick lots and lots of embellishments on a card now;-)  I'm having withdraws!!!!

Happy stamping...and mailing;-)

Happy 2012

Hi stampers!  Happy new year!  I'm back with a challenge card today.  I haven't gotten much stamping in as of late and boy is my mojo suffering for it!  I don't think I have a single idea in my body!  I had the day off on Thursday and by the time I got all the stuff I NEEDED to get done (and there was plenty left I could have worked on too) I didn't have much time or energy left!  But, I sat down to work on a card and used the Create With Connie & Mary sketch challenge.

This card was hard fought!  I just had a hard time coming up with ANYTHING!  And I'm not in love with it but it's better than nothing!  Here's to hoping that my mojo perks up quick!

Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Easy events, PS I love you
Paper:  Whisper white, crumb cake, blushing bride, calypso coral, lucky limeade
Ink:  Staz-on, calypso coral, lucky limeade, crumb cake
Accessories:  Twitterpatted buttons, crochet thread, edgelits, edge embossing folder, blushing bride pleated ribbon, dazzling details

I used a lot of neat occasion's mini catalog goodies on this card!  It's the first time I got to use the little adorning accents embossing folders.  I LOVE the little hearts!  I totally messed up on my first pre-order and got the edgelits instead of the folders.  I wasn't planning on getting the edgelits either but I have to say I like them!  Can you see that my scalloped edge is scalloped?  There are teeny tiny scallops on each scallop, how cute is that?  And what's cool is that the folders and edgelits work together to cut and emboss!

Anywho, I also used the twitterpatted buttons and satin pleated ribbon which you've seen before here on my blog.  And a little bit of dazzling details over the heart on the tree is the perfect touch.  Maybe the card is growing on me a little:-)  And don't forget that you can get your own occasion's mini merchandise starting on January 4th!

Happy stamping!

Easy event - wedding

Hi stampers, in honor of labor day here is an EASY card I made the other night.  It's one you can make without a lot of labor:-)  I told you we had a wedding on Saturday and I made a card AFTER a 12+ hour day of work at about 11 at night on Friday (so you KNOW it had to really actually be easy, lol) as I didn't know if I had a wedding card and it was more fun to make one than to actually look for one.  I had to laugh in the morning as my hubby kind of freaked out about not having a card when we woke up.  I just looked at him and said it was taken care of....and then he said "and that's why I married you."  :-)  Guess it was the fact that he'd never have to rush out to buy a card ever again that reeled him in, LOL!  He actually tells people that, hahaha!

I usually do more "elegant" wedding cards but I'd been itching to use the wedding stamp from easy events simply because it was cute.  Thinking back I wish I would have embossed the image with black as to be a bit more fancy but it still turned out well I think...what about you?

Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Easy events, tiny tags
Paper:  Whisper white, island indigo
Ink:  staz-on, island indigo, real red, lucky limeade
Accessories:  Jewelry punch, polka dot embossing folder, real red taffeta ribbon, crochet thread

The color combo of island indigo and real red is a bit out of the box for me but with all that white I wanted something striking.  I usually try to make a card in the wedding colors if I can but I wasn't sure what they were this time around.  I also realized I forgot to put some bling (either dazzling diamonds or dazzling details) on the heart but that's what happens when you stamp after that long at work and that late at night, haha.  I COULD have been home at 9:30 but I sent a kid to the ER so I had to go there to wait for him....BUT he never showed up...I was pretty mad since I had things I could have been doing at home and had to sit there waiting and then they didn't show up AND because he really needed an x-ray....guess we will see how that plays out tomorrow at practice!  Just a day in the life of an athletic trainer:-)  Anyway......

So that's my card and it was so easy!  And now also in honor of labor day I'm going to continue to do NOTHING and NOT labor....we DID go to the grocery store and I did take a nap so I've done SOMETHING today, lol!  And I do plan to go for a run since it's in the 60's here which is amazing and I do plan to stamp a little something tonight too....maybe ;-)  Hope you're enjoying whatever you're doing (or not doing) today!

Happy stamping and happy labor day!  Be sure to come back tomorrow for a new challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments!  Oh and I didn't forget about the SCS Creative Crew projects, I just didn't have as much down time as I thought I would at my mom's (which is always the case) since I was busy running around her new house deciding where furniture should go and what color to paint what and how to decorate and all that fun stuff!

Easy Peasy!

So I never would have gotten this set if it were not a convention set but it is SO CUTE!  And you know how we had the little chat a while back about how I don't do much in the way of other sizes of cards?  Well, I started doing some 3 x 3's with Easy Events the other night and before you know it my desk was COVERED in them!  I made it my personal mission in life to do a card with each of the eight images, lol!  Check these little babies out!

See, aren't they cute????  I tried to showcase our new in colors with them although I did use some other colors here and there!  I kept the layout the same on all the cards for ease of stamping and I'm really liking the Borderlines set that I also got at convention with my plus fun class.  That's where all those polka dots came from.  I actually took the idea from one of the squares in my shadow box for that class (and I'm working on it SLOWLY so one day I WILL have a finished project to show you, hehe).  The images were also fun to color with my classic inks and blender pen.

After I had them all done though, I needed SOMETHING to corral some of them so I put together this cute little box:

Look familiar?  That's because it's actually made with the scallop envelope die!  You just cut out two and lop off the bottoms so that they fit together.  Bend the front envelope flap down and use some sticky strip to stick it down and tie a ribbon on (oh I guess I did stamp it before I assembled it) and you're done!  You could add a tag or embellishment which I probably will do at some point if I end up gifting this to someone.  These would make a great little gift for sure!  Of course they don't all fit in there so I better go make some more;-)

Happy stamping!

And PS:  I'm not listing all the colors and supplies I used since there were so many, please forgive me but I'm working a TON of hours right now and I'd rather stamp than type:-D  If you have questions please feel free to ask!
