Watercolor Wednesday

Hi stampers!  Is your head still spinning from all the info I threw at you yesterday?  Mine, too! ;-)

I've dug out all the colors that are returning and I'm so happy!  Now, if I could just get some time to stamp with them, that'd be great!

I'm sharing yet ANOTHER card that uses Hanging Garden.  I just can't stop!

I pulled out the combo of coral, tide, and lemon lime twist again.  It watercolored so nicely for these succulents!

I couldn't get a great photo with that paper.  Frustrating!  But I think you get the idea!

BIG Changes

Hi stampers!  WOW!  That's all I have to say about OnStage over the weekend and the release of  the new catalog to demos.  It's the 30th anniversary of Stampin' Up this year and they are making some big changes!  I did a live FB to try to explain some of them yesterday.  It may be helpful if you can't follow ;-)

I'm going to explain a little so hang tight for today's card which is a sneak peek!

The retiring list is here!  Make sure to check it out and get what you want quick before it's gone forever!  Things are while supplies last.

NOW, don't freak out if you see all of our inks on there!  In addition to a color revamp (woohoo) they are redesigning the ink pad cases so they are all listed as retiring.  They are the same width and a bit shorter and will now interlock as to stack if you wish.  They are also adding a de foaming agent to the pads and re inkers to help get better images.

So do you want to know what colors we are saying good-bye to?

  • Always Artichoke
  • Chocolate Chip
  • Elegant Eggplant
  • Island Indigo
  • Marina Mist
  • Perfect Plum
  • Pink Pirouette
  • Rose Red
  • Soft Sky
  • Tangerine Tango
  • Tempting Turquoise
  • Wild Wasabi
  • Wisteria Wonder
  • As well as the 2016-2018 in colors BUT flirty flamingo is coming back!

They are putting basic black, whisper white and very vanilla in a basics category so that means we get three extra colors!

Here are the brand new core colors!

And the new color families.  See how they moved some around here and do you see your favorite returning in colors?

They are:
  • Mossy meadow
  • Poppy parade
  • Flirty Flamingo
  • Coastal cabana (my all time favorite)
  • Mint macaron (second favorite)
  • Blackberry bliss
And then your in colors!

Is your head spinning?  Let me know if you have questions!  I'll be getting a few new goodies soon, so be on the lookout for new stuff!

I have one quick sneak peek from the cute set we got in our bags this weekend.  Check it out!

EEK!  How cute are they???

Let me know if you need a catalog!  The new catalog will start June 1 and don't forget to grab your retiring products before they are gone!  I'll still be sharing plenty of "old" stuff in the near future, too!

Motivated Monday

Hi stampers!  I'm back from the OnStage even in Ft. Worth and totally motivated!  Or as motivated as I get, LOL!  I've seen the new catalog and there is big stuff coming and I'm super excited.  I'm still crying over a few of my favorite things that are leaving but the new stuff is always exciting!  And I have all kinds of ideas forming!  I also need to start some classes up but you know I'm lazy...so we'll see ;-)  It was so fun to see everything and see some of my friends.  I'm just bummed it was in a lot of locations and we were all spread out.  It's not the same without everyone!

I did NOT enjoy driving in Ft. Worth.  YIKES and I'm not usually afraid to drive anywhere.  I mean Chicago and LA no problem!  Texas....hard pass lol!

I WILL enjoy sharing more things with you once I can later today (at 2 pm Central time) so be watching FB and Insta!  Maybe I'll even get a special post here depending on our day!  I'm behind from not being able to grocery shop...or not wanting to after a 4.5 hour drive home, ha!

As for my card today, it's more hanging baskets.  And I am in LOVE with the color combo of sweet sugarplum and tranquil tide.  In.  Love.  They were sitting on my desk and scraps and I said hey!  Perfect succulent colors!

Do you see how well they watercolored into the succulents???

Time to get unpacked I guess.

Busy Busy

Hi stampers!  I meant to get some posts ready the past two nights but it just didn't happen.  Jon's been late from work and Ian's been upset about it so I let him stay up late on night and then we were late with soccer last night so I just vegged out on the couch both nights!  Today's busy as I hit the gym and then pack and take off for Fort Worth and the OnStage event tomorrow!  I'm so excited so see friends and see the new catalog!   I hope the boys have a good weekend without me! :-)

Here's a pretty quick and simple card!

Gotta go!  If you're in Fort Worth, say hello!

Watercolor Wednesday

Hi stampers!  Happy hump day!  This week is totally weird from being gone on Monday and then going to OnStage Friday!  It IS Wednesday, right? :-)

Here's a cute little card I whipped up a while ago.

For my background, I used my emerald envy marker to do a little splatter then I spritzed it.  Once it was dry, I added some little accents with black.  Sadly, that stamp set is retired now (SAB) but we have a lot of little accents that would work just as well!  I'm really going to miss emerald envy.  I don't know that I loved it when I saw it but I LOOOOVE it now!

For my main image, I stamped with markers and for the leaves, I used my blender pen to fill them in after I stamped.

Easy and cute, right?

Terrific Tuesday!

Hi stampers!  Happy Tuesday...that's going to feel like a Monday around here.  We just got back from Illinois yesterday so I'm going to be off all week!  I'm hoping I remember to take Ian to school and get some groceries, lol!  It's going to be a weird week in general as I'm off for OnStage and Ft. Worth on Friday.  Having Jon come home early on Friday for a SAHM is truly terrific, lol!

And so is this card!  It's one of my favorite cards I've made as of late!  I'm probably going to keep using these thinlits even though they were from SAB because you'll be able to get them in the upcoming catalog (THAT I GET TO SEE ON SATURDAY...YES, I'M PRETTY EXCITED ABOUT THAT).

I find that for glimmer paper, I usually have to run it through my big shot twice for it to cut out really well.  This was sort of a happy accident.  Running it through once cut it out but not the insides of the letters and I kind of love it!

The background is simple sponged a little and then I stamped over that randomly.  I've seen a number of cards like that lately that totally inspired me.

The little flowers are dies from the bundle and I just run the not-sharp-end of my paper piercer over the middle of them on top of my foam mat to make them 3-dimentional.  Add a bunch of other fun elements with bright colors and it's perfect!

I may have to add the supplies a little later.  I type these up the night before and the 8+ hour trip has me pretty worn out...plus a kid who has decided he's no longer the world's best sleeper....yawn...

Mailable Monday Cozy Cottage

Hi stampers!  Happy Monday and I hope you all had a happy Easter!  We went back to Illinois where it SNOWED!  I guess it was a white Easter, crazy!

I have a very simple card for you today that may be one of my favorites ever!  I did some watercoloring which isn't my strong suit but this set makes it easy!

Cozy Cottage is a host set in the Occasions catalog and it's super cute!  It makes it easy to create a cute scene.  It's a great one to practice your watercoloring skills.  I stamped my image in versamark and black ink and then heat embossed.  That helps me watercolor because it keeps the ink from bleeding AND it kind of creates a little raised image which helps keep my colors separated and stay within the lines.  One of the keys to images like this is to let it fully dry in between layers.  I worked on this on and off for a few days ;-)

I'm not going to list all the inks I used as I can't even remember.  If you want to recreate it, just mix your colors until you get the look you want!

You can get this set for FREE with a $150 order!  It will only be available until the end of May with the Occasions catalog!
