Tour De Freaks Time

Hi stampers, it's that time...well it's kind of past that time, but convention was last week so we delayed our blog hop for a bit since many of us were in sunny Salt Lake!

Convention was freakin' awesome as usual and even more fun in a way since Baby B and his grandparents went with me!  What wasn't freakin' awesome was the three adults plus my hubby getting really sick when we returned home.  Boo!!!  So far the little man seems to have escaped and I'm hoping that holds true!

Of course one of the highlights is swapping with the Control Freaks!  I just love these people!!!!!!  In fact, I love them so much that because of a time change I had two swaps at the same time so I had to pick where I went and I chose them :-)  Love you guys!!!!  Although I am sad I didn't get to see people at my other swap and I'm really thankful for a couple of people who acted as my proxy to get those cards out and get mine in return!  Speaking of awesome people and projects, you should have just come from Heidi's blog.  If you didn't, don't fret as we make an endless loop so just keep clicking!

Anywho, since we swap two cards I'll share the first one I made first.

Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Lots of joy, And many more
Paper:  Whisper white, crumb cake, cherry cobbler,  mossy meadow, gold foil sheets
Ink:  Crumb cake, cherry cobbler, mossy meadow, whisper white craft
Accessories:  2.5" circle and tree punches, cherry cobbler baker's twin, lucky stars embossing folder, pearl basic jewels

I love all things Christmas so I had to do a Christmas card!  And I love the tree set in the annual catalog  And here's a little tip...I tried tying the bows on the tree but I found tying them separately and using a glue dot to stick them on worked way better and was way easier!

The next card had me struggling.  I really wanted to use no bones about it but for whatever reason, ideas were slow to come.  I think I finally came up with something that I liked and I hope the freaks did too!  I really need to get used to making boy cards now!  My first prototype used another embossing folder but I felt something was lacking.  I then remembered I had bought the new stencils and it just so happened that one of them reminded me of trees you'd see long with dinosaurs...and Ian's favorite cartoon is Dinosaur Train so I'm becoming an expert ;-)

Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps: No bones about it
Paper:  Whisper white, soft suede, night of navy, old olive
Ink:  Soft suede, crumb cake, old olive, hello honey, versamark
Accessories:  White embossing powder, happy patterns stencils, burlap ribbon

I hope you (and the freaks) enjoyed my swaps.  Everything I got back was wonderful and I'm missing you all already!  Don't forget to click on over and visit Connie and her fabulous projects!

And thanks for touring with the Freaks!

Happy stamping!

FAB Friday!

Hi stampers and what a FAB Friday it is!  That's because I'm in Salt Lake City at convention!!!  To make it extra special this year, Ian and my parents came along!  So. Much. Fun.  And so tired, lol!  So, this post may be short and sweet.  And my editing software still is on the fritz and obviously I haven't had time to mess with it :-)  Sorry!  I really am and I can't stand the photos but it is what it is.

So we have a fun color challenge over at Fab Friday.  My card is for a special little friend who's birthday I missed...better late than never :-)

This set is so cute and the colors were perfect.  Ian loves the Dinosaur Train cartoon on PBS (and I actually like it too, yay) and these colors fit just perfect for the dinos they show :-)

Make sure to check out everyone else's amazing work then play along!

I'm off to drool over the NEW Holiday Catalog!!!!!!!!  Of course Ian went to bed late on the night I wanted to study it, hehe!

And hopefully I'll be able to find some time to share some convention goodness and Ian goodness with you soon too!

Happy stamping!

Fab Fridy 68

Hi stampers!  TGIF!  This week has seemed kind of long after we had a couple of short weeks with a trip for our anniversary and then the holiday.  This 5 day work week is for the birds :-)  But I have managed to get myself organized and get some stamping in.  I'm in major convention prep mode meaning I'm making all sorts of lists of what not to forget to pack and making some swaps!

However, I had to take a break to work on this sketch for Fab Friday this week!  It's pretty simple but a great one to get you going and you can take it in many different directions!

Again, please excuse my lack of editing.  I still can't get my editing software to work since updating and it's not high on the list :-)  But you can see here I swapped the stitching for some of the new thin metallic thread!  It's so fun!  I'm not good at doing that technique yet though!  And how did that retired ribbon end up on there??? :-)

Now, make sure to check out all the inspiration we have for you and play along!

Happy stamping!

Happy 4th of July!

Hi stampers!  I totally forgot to edit and post this card yesterday as we spent the day with my best friend and her hubby and little guy!  My editing software isn't working still and I'm having trouble with iPhoto so you get  a naked picture, sorry :-)  So, here you go while the little guy (who's 11 months tomorrow, holy cow) is napping ;-)

I hope everyone has a happy and safe 4th!  God bless America!

Happy stamping!
