Happy World Card Making Day!

Hi stampers and happy World Card Making Day!  Make sure to make a card today and send it to someone!  Everyone loves some happy mail so I'm deeming Monday World Card Sending Day :-)  Here at my house instead of cards we'll be making Halloween banners and hopefully I'll be making some cards after my class.  Hopefully because I'm exhausted.  The dog didn't let me get much sleep while I was at my mom's the other night and then I guess I got used to sleeping alone because the Mr. has been in Budapest all week.  I knew it wouldn't be a good night when I went to bed and found him all the way over on my side, ha!!!!

Anyway, I should have planned better and had a card class today but I guess I forgot about WCMD!  Don't forget you can get my exclusive class for FREE online by purchasing the supplies through my online store!

You can find the details HERE!

And now for a LOT MORE stuff!  In honor of the "holiday" I'm going into blogging/sharing overdrive because who doesn't love to look at pretty stuff, right?  And because I'm home and it doesn't take 10 minutes to upload each picture like at the farm, hooray!  First up is a card with one of my all-time favorite sketches!  I think maybe it was a retrosketch but I can't remember.  I'm sure it will look familiar...I use it a lot!
Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Oh hello
Paper:  Very vanilla, pear pizzazz, afternoon picnic DSP
Ink:  Perfect plum
Accessories:  Subtles candy dots, pear pizzazz taffeta ribbon, very vintage designer buttons, linen thread

I feel a fall version coming on soon ;-)

Next, how about some happy?  I LOVE this stamp as you know and I pretty much love everything about this card!  It's a great way to use the acetate sheet from the DSP too!

Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Yippie skippie, mosaic madness
Paper:  Whisper white, bermuda bay, summer starfruit, strawberry slush, quatrefancy, in color 2013-2015 DSP stack
Ink:  Bermuda bay, strawberry slush
Accessories:  Chalk talk framelits, large rhinestones, bright candy dots

And now, how about a little bonus in the form of another convention display project?  Yes, I still have lots of those left to share!!!  If you're wondering why all of my display cards are on a little easel it's because they are only card fronts and not whole cards so they don't stand up :-)

And finally SU released yet another nifty product yesterday and I didn't get to share it with the Fab Friday post and being busy with my mom and going to pick up the world traveler and all!  The new Pop & Place kit is a super quick and easy way to add a handmade touch to all your Christmas gifts!  Even if you're not a cardmaker or scrapbooker you can still get crafty with this kit!

There are a couple of options offered in bundles so make sure to check those out.  You can get everything you need including a clear block and ink spot in the "big kit".  You can get everything separate as well or just the stamp set and tag booklet.  You can find it all in my store HERE!  Make sure it says Mindy Bingamon on the top right hand side, ok? :-)

Here are your options:
134975Pop & Place Holiday Gift Tags Book$9.95
134623Christmas Tagables Photopolymer Stamp Set$13.95

I was dirty again!

Hi stampers!  Quick post today!  I was all hyped up on diet coke and coffee last night so I decided to play along with some more of the Dare To Get Dirty Challenges over at Splitcoast!  If you want to find out all the details you'll have to go over there as it's super secret for the Fan Club Members!!!  Being part of the fan club is a great way to support an awesome online community!!!

I used lots of fun new stuff finally!  I hadn't stamped all week since it was a crummy week and I was always pooped from work :-)  So, here are my last four cards!
Uses the new snowflake dies!  FUN!  Also love the A Banner Christmas set!  Very vintage or retro looking!
Nothing new but it's still cute, no?
New Halloween set!  Toil & Trouble and first H-ween card of 2013!
Ack!  The new thinlit dies!  LOVE them!!!!!  Also love the pattern from the July paper pumpkin stamp!

Happy stamping!

Quick swap

Hi stampers!  Ok, quick post today of a quick card.  I'm trying to show all my samples and swaps but I'm so slow at photo editing...I hate doing it basically, lol!  So I did one quick and now I gotta go to work.

I did make a few quick swaps the day I left for my mom's.  I hate mass production so I just made a handful of quick cards so I could have a few to trade with my friends.  I got a few extra free sets for convention since I already had the convention sets.  One of the ones I chose was tape it and it's so cool!  I can't wait to play more!  I also pulled out my neglected old olive and I love this color combo, just look!

Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Yippie skippie, tape it
Paper:  Whisper white, old olive, coastal cabana
Ink:  Old olive, coastal cabana, strawberry slush
Accessories:  Wide oval punch, modern label punch, basic rhinestones

ACK!  Isn't it so cute!  I think this was the first card to be swapped and is my favorite of the ones I made!  It makes such QUICK and cute cards!  I love the washi tape look and you can have "washi tape" of any color with this set!

Ok, off to work!  Happy stamping!

I don't always swap....

...but when I do...it's always organized!  LOL!  Hi stampers!  Can you tell I'm loopy and sleep deprived???  Haha!  I'm sitting at the airport with my roomie Marla waiting to fly home (insert SUPER sad face here) so I thought I'd share some stuff from convention since I was totally overwhelmed (again) and got nothing blogged, haha!  I did try to update via twitter and Facebook.  I'll try to share a lot in the coming weeks because I have a LOT to share!!!

Anyway I'm not a big swapper...I don't need many since I don't do a lot of business and it kind of stresses me out to have to make them, get them there in good shape, lug them around (anyone else feel like a sherpa all week???) and then it's kind of chaotic actually swapping.  Not being a fan of large crowds, this one was really freaking me out :-)  BUT, I always at least do my friend Lyssa's swap which has a lot of my friends in it which is fun and they are always amazing!  So, here is what I came up with:

Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Yippie-skippie, daydream medallion (extra rubber)
Paper:  Whisper white, bermuda bay, crisp cantaloupe, 2013-2015 core'dinations CS, brushed gold
Ink:  Bermuda bay, crisp cantaloupe, strawberry slush
Accessories:  Honeycomb embossing folder, chalk talk framelits, basic rhinestones, basic pearls, doilies, strawberry slush ruffled stretch trim, bitty butterfly punch, sanding block

I really loved how this card turned out and I hope everyone in the swap did too!  I got some really fabulous stuff back!  And speaking of FABULOUS....here's a cute little picture of a few of the Fab Friday members!  We had a meet and greet and a swap planned but just happened to run into each other the at Lydia's happy hour.  So, I'll share all that with you later :-)  But for now...enjoy the fabulousness because each and every one of these stampers ARE FAB-U-LOUS!

And sorry instagram cut some people off :-)

Happy stamping!

Leftovers

Hi stampers.  We TRY to get rid of our leftovers here in the Backes household but we don't always do so good.  Jon gets tired of eating the same thing for lunch and the same thing for dinner sometimes and I like a lighter lunch than what we usually have for dinner.  But we try!  And something that I often forget about are my rubbah leftovers!  Huh?  What do I mean?  Well sometimes a stamp set has some leftovers.  Like daydream medallions...it has a little circle that punches out and being the hoarder...I mean....frugal person I am I can't throw that away!!!!  :-)

So, when I started out making this card I knew I wanted to do some kind of fun background and polka dots seemed like they would be good since they make me happy!  BUT since my very favorite polka dot stamp of all time distressed dots is retired I wanted to do something else...not that I'll stop using it or EV-AH get rid of it but I just wanted different.  So, I went on the hunt for a polka dot....I knew I had a few leftovers in my stash and I ran into the one on this card!  Perfect!!!

Stampin' Suppplies:
Stamps:  Yippie-skippie, gorgeous grunge, daydream medallions
Paper:  Crisp cantaloupe, canvas creations
Ink:  Crisp cantaloupe, strawberry slush, Bermuda bay
Accessories:  In color details, itty bitty punch pack, basic rhinestones

Isn't it just super cute!  I also FINALLY broke out my canvas creations sheet (so glad those showed up in the big catalog since I never used them) for my banner.  Gotta use those more as they are really cool. As for the dots, if you don't have any leftovers you could always use sponge dauber!  They make good polka dots too!

I got the sewing machine out too!  I'm NOT good at sewing on my cards but I need to try it more!  I thought it would be cool with the canvas sheet!

It's been a rough week so far so I've got this card hanging up in my stamp space because just looking at it makes me a little happier!  You really can't have too much happy :-)

And speaking of....happy stamping :-)

Oh and happy three year anniversary to me and my wonderful-stamping supportive- hubby!  He comes and visits me and gives me kisses when I'm in my stamp room and always humors me by looking at my creations when I visit him in the man cave!  I love him....I think I'll keep him ;-)  As long as he got me a card today unlike the Valentine's Day card fiasco, LOL!!!!

Mailable Monday - Diet advice

Hi stampers!  Happy Monday....ok does anyone REALLY believe I'm happy about Monday after being on vacation?  No, I didn't think so, lol!!!!  But, at least I've got a cute card to share as well as some diet advice!

I'm pretty excited as well because I'm playing in a new challenge today!  I recently found the CASE study blog while looking for inspiration for display stamping and my convention swap (which I still have no clue what I'm doing).  So, here is my debut using this card/sketch/inspiration:

I wanted to keep it simple and use fun colors so here is what I came up with:

Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Make a cake, gorgeous grunge, yippie-skippie
Paper:  Whisper white, crisp cantaloupe, coastal cabana, 2013-2015 in color DSP stack
Ink:  Crisp cantaloupe, coastal cabana, strawberry slush
Accessories:  2.5" circle punch, perfect pennants die, strawberry slush ruffled stretch trim

And see...diet advice!  Eat the cake already!!!!  LOL!  Seriously, I LOVE that little stamp and I LOVE me some carbs...so carbs, schmarbs is my new mantra ;-)  And we all know I'm a bit of a health nut/exerciser but I do like...ok LOVE food too so I try not to restrict myself from anything....sometimes I do good and sometimes not, hahaha!

Anyway there ya go!

And now I want some cake!!

Happy stamping!

Mixing it up

Hi stampers!  I got up "early" today so I could share with you, yay!  :-)  And drink my chocolate donut coffee, lol!

I had a busy night last night after getting off, working out and then driving across town to get my hair done.  I really like having it short but to keep it looking right I have to go every FIVE weeks, yikes!  But for some reason I got out about a half hour earlier than I usually do (maybe because I'm growing it a bit and she didn't have to cut much?) so I was actually able to stamp when I got home!!!!   I don't know about you but conditions have to be "just right" for me to sit down and stamp most of the time.  I like having a good chunk of time to work with and I never seem to be able to get into it if I start late.  Anyone else like that?

I went with something simple because it was late and I didn't want to make a mess and pull a bunch of supplies out.  So, I decided to pull out my May (I think it's May, eek) Paper Pumpkin kit, the one that was a cute little mini album.  I love that you can repurpose some of the supplies to make whatever you want and this one has lots of leftovers!  And while I wouldn't really call this card manly it's not really girly either!  This card is probably going to find it's way down to the man cave this week to apologize for the crazy that was me earlier this week :-)
Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Show & tell 1 and 2 photopolymer, yippie-skippie
Paper:  Whisper white, basic gray, smokey slate, MPP May kit DSP
Ink:  Basic gray
Accessories:  Epic day washi tape, hearts collection framelits

It was really pretty simple!  I absolutely LOVE the yippie-skippie set and couldn't wait to get it!  It has such cute little sayings.  I wanted to add some candy dots but stupidly I didn't think I needed any neutrals so I didn't order them.  WRONG!  I think I need them ALL!  I LOVE those things!

I also used smokey slate which I'm not sure I've shown you on my blog as of yet.  It's a really pretty soft gray color.  And those clear stamps are just cute!  Plain and simple.

Ok, I'll try to share more but it's crunch time for the display stamper samples....so we'll see what happens.  I think I have 7 or 8 left if I counted right...some to just finish and some to completely design then stamp......

Happy stamping!
