Lost love

Hi stampers!  So I ran across a Valentine that I totally forgot to post!  Better late than never though I guess, right?  I didn't get a whole lot of V-day cards done this year for some reason so I probably should have used another sentiment on this card...I'm pretty sure I made it on the 13th so I KNEW I was out of time.  Oh well:-)  I mean it's not like we are supposed actually give out the cards we make, right? :-)
Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps: Sweet cake
Paper:  Whisper white, concord crush, wisteria wonder, calypso coral, sweet shop DSP
Ink:  Wisteria wonder, calypso coral
Accessories: calypso coral baker's twine, fashionable hearts embosslit, in color glimmer brads, dazzling diamonds

I stamped the cake stamp twice and cut out the cupcake wrapper in calypso coral ink for some dimension and to pull the coral together.  I really like the combo of the two purples as well and I need to remember to use concord crush more often since it will be going away come June 1!  Remember, the catalog is expiring a month early this year which is sad but getting a NEW catalog a month early more than makes up for it:-)

I popped up the main panel (white) AND the image which I cut out.  The little glimmer brad is the perfect finishing touch...but when I was all done I just HAD to cover the frosting in dazzling diamonds.  This stamp just does NOT look right without some sparkly frosting:-)

Maybe I'll remember to send this one to someone next year, ha!

I've been a little MIA from blogging and stamping because my cousin had a little baby so I've been going to see her the past few nights!  While I love stamping I just can resist cuddle time with a brand new little baby!  I got to hold her when she was only an hour or so old!  I can't wait to have one of my own someday...even if it does cut into my stamping time;-)

Happy stamping!

Fresh cake!

Hi stampers!  I almost ran out of time to play at Freshly Made Sketches this week but I'm glad I remembered because I loved Rita's sketch!  I haven't gotten around to a FMS challenge for a while!  So in keeping with making more birthday cards you know what I made:-)
Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Sweet cake
Paper:  Whisper white, wisteria wonder, sweet shop DSP
Ink:  Wisteria wonder, calypso coral
Accessories:  Dazzling diamonds, polka dot in color brads, fashionable hearts embosslit

So, I was afraid that the use of both embossed patterns from the DSP would be too busy but I think it turned out well.  A bit busy, yet, but still cute because the white space seems to balance it out.  I wish I had a whole pack of those two embossed prints!  Those are going to be the sheets in the pack that go the fastest!  The cupcake paper was stamped in wisteria wonder and then I cut it out.  I added a brad on top for the cherry and some dazzling diamonds because you can't have naked frosting!  Annnnd now I need to go find some cake:-)

Happy stamping!

Mailable Monday - More cake

Hi stampers!  Time to start another week with another edition of mailable Monday.  In my quest to make more birthday cards it is of course just that, a birthday card.  I've been using the same basic sketch a lot lately so this may look familiar:-)  I have been wanting to use the cupcake print pattern from the sweet shop DSP so I combined it with the cupcake punch!  I just LOVE how our products, even those in suites, coordinate to well with other products!
Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Create a cupcake, petite pairs
Paper:  Whisper white, soft suede, pool party, calypso coral, sweet shop DSP
Ink:  Soft suede, pool party, calypso coral
Accessories:  Labels collection framelits, circle punch, smooch illuminate accent ink

I based my color combo off of the DSP and normally I'd be afraid to use a brown on this card but it goes well with the DSP and I think it looks like chocolate!!!!!  I didn't have any cake at my birthday party last night so now I think I want some cake...chocolate cake:-)  This card will have to do I guess.  It's hard to see in the photo but I did cover the cupcake with smooch accent ink so it's kind of shimmery!

And just a note about my "mailable" cards as I've had a few comments and questions on them.  I KNOW that I can mail some of my more embellished cards by backing them with a scrap piece of cardstock or taking them to the PO to see if they fit through the template BUT I don't always have time to mess with that, especially going to the PO so I like to have some cards that I know I can pop in an envie and mail off from home without worry of them coming back to me or being damaged.  Plus, our PO seems to be rather strict about any cards with lumps or bumps and always wants to charge me extra postage.  I even had one lady scratch through the envelope trying to find out what the "bump" was one time...it was just something popped up on dimensionals:(  So, these are all cards that can be mailed without a second thought.  I even do mail some of my heavily embellished cards using our padded envies but only when I have time to go to the PO.

Happy stamping!

Mailable Monday - Sweet Cake

Hi stampers!  Mmmmmm, cake!  My birthday is next month and I'm already trying to decide what kind of cake I want my mom to make me.  It's usually between a strawberry jello poke cake and her no-bake cheesecake.  It's such a hard decision that I usually ask for both, LOL!

I tried really hard to resist the sweet cake set and sweet shop DSP in the occasions mini but I finally caved.  At least it doesn't have any calories like REAL cake, right?  :-)

This set it totally cute and kind of mod or retro.  And I really bought it because I loved the font on the sentiments, lol!    And I couldn't pass up the fun patterns and bright colors in the coordinating DSP.  And this DSP is special because a couple of the patterns are embossed so they really stand out! I just love how SU makes it so easy to put together projects with so many coordinating products!

This is my first card with this set and I love it!  I was going for a bright and kind of monochromatic look here and again, trying to use more white space:

Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Sweet cake
Paper:  Whisper white, calypso coral, poppy parade, sweet cake DSP
Ink:  Calypso coral, poppy parade
Accessories:  Two-way glue pen, dazzling diamonds, fashionable hearts embosslit

Isn't it fun?  And bright?  Haha!  But I love it.  It's very sparkly in real life and I love the dimension the hearts on the DSP add.  I can't wait to send this to someone!  Cake without the calories;-)

Happy stamping!
