Merry Patterns Cards - Stampin' Up Artisan Design Team Blog Hop

Hi stampers!  It's time for a trip around the world with the SU Artisan Design Team and we have something super exciting for you today!  It's a little sneak peek of the host promotion that's coming in a few days!  Introducing....Merry Patterns!

Starting Friday, on the first of September, and through October 31st, you can get the Merry Patterns Stamp Set FREE.  All you have to do is host a party with $300 (US) in sales!  That's right!  This SUPER cute stamp set for free!  That's in addition to the regular stampin' rewards you'll earn too!  Merry Christmas to you indeed!  It's a limited time offer so make sure to contact your demo today and get on his or her calendar!

I think this set is super cute and I knew exactly what I wanted to do when I saw it!  I wanted to combine it with the Lovely Laurel Thinlit Dies.

But the front of the card really isn't that idea :-)  The front is pretty simple and while it's simple, I think it's really cute all on it's own too.  I just layered my oval over some gold metallic thread and some of the greenery from the laurel thin its   I actually made little mistake stamping the green in the season (see how it's off just a little bit) but the more I looked at it, the more I liked it offset a little bit.  My mistake turned out to be kind of great.  I think it really makes the word stand out!  It's all mounted on some festive striped paper from the Christmas Around the World DSP.  But let's get to the idea (because they usually don't come to me this fast...at all lol).

You see, growing up we always had an advent candle set that sat on top of our TV surrounded by greenery and I loved lighting it each week.  So, I thought those candles would look awesome as a pop up with the greenery from the lovely laurel dies!  I fussy cut out the candles and then adhered them to the pop up part of the banner.

Supe cute, right?  I think it's a fun little surprise for sure!  These candles are super fun to stamp, too!  I had a fun time trying out different color combos.  They are photopolymer so it's easy to line them up as well as the flames.  Three of the candles are on one stamp and three on another so you can have every other one a different color.  I used emerald envy and real red here.

And then, simply because I wanted to take a photo with my new phone (hehe...it's way better than my old one) I whipped up a second super simple yet adorable card the other night so you get a bonus today!  I just love this deer!

And how perfect does he pair with the Be Merry DSP?  FYI, that real red ribbon is tiny and adorable and ties like a dream!

I hope you enjoyed my projects today and I know you'll love what everyone else has to share as well!  Keep clicking along to see them all!  Next up is Miriam in the Netherlands!  She's just fantastic!

Happy hopping and happy stamping!

Hocus Pocus

Hi stampers!  Ian started pre-school yesterday and it was great, both for him and me! :-)

Hard to believe it's almost fall...maybe because it's still pretty hot here!  But, I love fall and Halloween so here's a cute Halloween card!

Ack!  Aren't those little beakers just the cutest?  Maybe it's because I'm a huge nerd and loved science...but they are adorable! I made a quick mask out of a post it note and stamped them twice.  It's a two step stamp so filling them up was super easy!

Seasonal Lantern

Hi stampers!  I'm trying to get back on the stamping and posting train!  I had big plans over the weekend and then came down with some allergy or sinus infection (I think) kind of thing.  UGH!  Hopefully I'm feeling better fast!  I've got a lot to do with Ian starting preschool on Tuesday and having TIME TO MYSELF.   Like, I don't even really know what that is after the last three years :-)  I'm sure I won't get near as much accomplished as I'd like but we'll see!

I did manage to ink up the Seasonal Lantern set last week though!  I loved this set as soon as I saw it!  I love lanterns and the possibilities of this set are endless!  I also love when sets encompass multiple holidays like this ones does!  Add in coordinating framelits and it was a no-brainer for me!

Now, I probably should have started with a fall card (I'm TRYING to not put the Christmas horse before the sleigh) but I couldn't resist I guess!

Like I've been trying to do lately, I kept it simple.  While I LOVE the dies, I was wanting to create something quickly and easily and I like to show that while dies are fantastic, if they aren't in your budget, you don't NEED them.  You could easily step this card up by cutting out the lantern and candle and it would be fantastic-er :-)  And can we talk about the Merry Music DSP for a second?  LOVE it!  I think the black adds a very nice pop for your cards!

I'm also really happy with the way my "holly bough" turned out.  I had a little scrap left over from one of the boxwood embellishments so I put a few real red enamel dots on it to make some holly.  Do you like it?

Did this set catch your eye or did you overlook it?  I haven't seen much chatter about it or many samples with it.
