Polar Butterflies

Hi stampers!  I hope that you're staying warm wherever you are!  For a good lot of you, I hope you're holed up in your studios with some hot coffee or tea and stamping!  It's business as usual here.  It's cold but not Antartica cold.  I'm usually a little homesick but I can't say that I am right now :-)

I have a springy card here so I hope it warms your day just a little!  I used the butterfly elements from the SAB offerings!

Have you ordered yet and got your free items?  Things are poplar and selling out quickly (the butterfly DSP and foil sheets) so you may want to grab them sooner than later!

Mailable Monday - You Otter Be

Hi stampers!  Happy Monday!  January is SO close to being over!  I better get going on some Valentine's!  I got a start this weekend with this adorable set, Hey Love!  I tried to resist it, but I finally caved.  I mean, you OTTER be????  So cute!

I colored these cuties in with my Blends and it made a cute and simple card!  And a little tip here: I actually used a Thick Whisper White card base and just glued my real red panel on so that it's easy to stamp and write inside.  It just looked better with a full red mat.  The other alternative is to put a white panel on the inside of the card.

Fancy Cupcake - Fancy Friday Blog Hop

Hi stampers!  Happy Friday!  It's been a long week so I'm excited that it's Friday!  Jon was gone all week so I'm glad he's back even if he is at work 90% of the day, ha!  Anyway, I'm feeling better this week than I have all month, so that's a win, too!  I still can't believe we STILL have one more week of January left though!  It seriously is the longest month EVER!  But at least it's time for some Friday fun with Fancy Friday!

If you're new to our hop, we are group of Stampin'  Up! Demonstrators who either are currently are on the Artisan Design Team or have been and we team up to bring you pretty things to look at now and then! All you need to do is follow the links and see what everyone has to share!

This month's theme is all about our favorite Sale A Bration items!  Don't forget that these are items you can get totally FREE with a $50 order!  It's the best time of the year and like Christmas after Christmas :-)

I may have used two items on my card because they are both my favorites!  I combined the Hello Cupcake Stamp Set with the Grapefruit Grove Foil Sheets (you actually get Lovely Lipstick foil sheets as well) and it couldn't be cuter!  The colors from the card REALLY reflect in that pretty, holographic paper! <3 p="">

I did a watercolor wash and once it was dry, I stamped my background and also did some splatters.  I pulled out my doilies because try as I may, I can never seem to use them but the fit perfectly right here!  My cupcake is fussy cut but it's a pretty easy image to cut.  I really wanted to make my cupcake fancy so I used the Fine Tip Glue Pen to outline the image and then sprinkled it with glitter!

I mean how could this not be your favorite SAB set and how could that paper not be your favorite either?

Now it's time to head on over and see what Jennifer has for you!  She's fabulous and her project is too!

Mailable Monday - Cacti Edition

Hi stampers!  Happy Monday!  Is anyone else kind of over January?  I've said it before, it's the Monday of months, LOL!  It's always kind of a let down when the magic of the holidays is over and then it's usually cold and gray (has really been gray here although thankfully the sun IS shining today), we don't usually have much going on for fun, and it just kind of serves no purpose for me, LOL!  I'm ready to get on with the year but it's still hanging around;-)

We do have some fun things coming up this spring, but that seems a LONG way off right now!  One of those things is a trip to Arizona which I'm super exited about!  I've always wanted to go and never have.  I had a great uncle who lives there who is the coolest person.  He was actually a POW in the Pacific and has an amazing story, which I'll save for another day!  But, we may have a chance to go see him and that would be awesome!  I'm super exited for warm weather and to see some cacti!  I love cacti!  I used to have an big indoor plan grow light set up (so, so nerdy...what young child wants to be a horticulturist when they grow up, yeah that'd be did I even know that word) and we had a bunch of cacti and I loved them!

Anyway, I tried to beat the cold this weekend with this card and I kinda love it!  I did a bit of a watercolor wash for the sunset in Mango Melody, Calypso Coral, Powder Pink, and Berry Burst.

I really can't wait to play with this set some more, it's so, so great!

So do you love January or are you just putting in your time until it's over?    I swear, it feels like the longest month, ever!

Fab Friday 155

Hi stampers!  Happy Friday!  If I had a diary, it might look something like this: Dear Diary, the sun hasn't shined in eighty seven days!  LOL!  Seriously, it is SO GRAY here and my photos are suffering!  But I had to take a photo on this gray day for the latest Fab Friday challenge!

This one really is much  prettier in real life.  I could NOT get the colors to photograph well at all with this crummy weather.

The cakes and the ruffled ribbon are a perfect match!  As are Soft Seafoam cardstock stamped with Mint Macaron ink!  I also added a few wooden elements from the SAB catalog that I dyed be gently pressing them into a pad.

Make sure to check out what the design team did and play along with us!

Happy stamping!
