Fab Friday 147

Hi stampers!  Happy Friday!  If you're here for the Fancy Friday Blog Hop, scroll down to the next post.  Even if you're not, check it out after you check out this one!  It's time for another challenge at Fab Friday!  It's a sketch this time around.

I really like this one and it was just screaming for the Sprig Punch!  I didn't get the coordinating stamp set (not that I still won't, ha) but this punch is a stand alone!  I love it!  I simply cut my copper spring in half here.

This one is super simple but I super love it!  That embossing folder is a must have, too!  I did have to trim it up a little after embossing since the texture makes it "shrink" up a little on the long sides.  The products from this card span two suites, and I love how our suites mix and match with one another!

Make sure you check out what everyone else did and play along with us!

Happy stamping!

Fancy Friday Blog Hop - A Color Challenge

Hi stampers!  Welcome to another Fancy Friday Blog Hop!  We're so happy you're here!  If you're new, we are a group of friends who have been honored to be on or are currently on, the Stampin' Up Artisan Design Team and we love to show you pretty things once a month!

This month's theme was a color challenge and I'm not gonna lie, I may have gone, "whoa" when I first saw it :-)  It's a lot of colors and kind of un-me.  BUT it is a challenge for that very reason I guess so I dove in!  We didn't have to use all of the colors if we didn't want to but I say go big or go home, right?  :-)

I was afraid I'd struggle to figure something out but almost immediately the Eastern Beauty Stamp Set and Eastern Medallion Thinlits came to mind thanks to the inspiration photo.  It's very boho!

The colors are Mango Melody, Powder Pink, Pacific Point, Smokey Slate, Whisper White, and Rich Razzleberry.  Whew!

I hadn't use this set in a long while but it was fun to dust it off.  It works perfectly with these colors and I can totally see this in that room!  I added just a little bit of gold in the middle.

I wasn't sure at first how to make this very Fancy Friday worthy but I think my Embossing Mats did the trick!  Instead of cutting out the middle portion of the medallion, I use the dies and mat to emboss the pattern instead and I LOVE it!  If you don't have the mat you need it and if you do, USE the thing!!!!

And here's one more tip.  Practice if you have an idea you're not sure will work out.  I actually made a couple trials of this card on just scratch paper and played around with the cutouts in the middle and which colors I wanted where.  When I found one I liked, then I recreated it for real on my good and precious cardstock ;-)

So, there it is!  This was a challenge for me for sure but I hope I made it work and I'm happy it inspired me to do something not very "me" and dig out an older stamp set!  They need love, too :-)

Now it's time to hop on over to my fancy Friend, Cindy!  You are just going to love what you see!

Happy stamping!

Catalog Case

Hi stampers!  I'm failing at blogging again, lol!  My to do list has been long this week!  Anyway, here I am, sharing another card!  The inspiration for this one was a project in the catalog!  It was a cute treat box but I thought it would make a great card!

Don't forget that our catalogs are perfect sources of inspiration and you can change them up anyway you can dream up!

I LOVE the color combo of Basic Black, Gorgeous Grape, and Pumpkin Pie!

And don't forget about shapes and labels in random die sets!  The background die cut is from Foliage Frames Framelits and totally not Halloween related at all BUT it works!  I love that the concept artists pulled it out for use on the project in the catalog.  Don't forget to mix and match!

Happy stamping!
