Display Stamper Application

Hi stampers!  I hope you all had a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend.  We took Ian to the Milwaukee Zoo yesterday and he had a ton of fun!  The hour drive that turned into two due to the interstate being closed down (for an accident we are guessing) was less fun!  But, all the time in the car helped me get my photos edited for today's post.  SU put out a call again for display stampers for the November event so I thought, why not?  Even if I don't win, it's a good kick in the creative behind!  So here are the 3 cards, two 3D items and one scrapbook page that I made (I probably won't list supplies just because it's already a lengthly post so if you have questions feel free to ask):

I love this card!  I combined timeless textures with the watercolor wings.  You can't see in the photo but the butterfly has wink of stella all over and is super pretty and shimmery!
And there's more wink of stella here on this card.  I splattered it on for a fun effect (and maybe all over the stuff on my desk too, whoops, lol).  I actually don't have the swirly bird stamp set that goes with this die so I used my sponges to create the backgrounds for the die cuts!

I used the hello stamp from the oh happy day card kit here with some washi tape for a cute and simple card!  I kind of love it!

I'm going to use this glassine envelope to hold cookies on July 4th!  The sunburst die makes great "fireworks".  There's some gold thread there too as well as some stars embossed with copper!  The belly band is also embossed with the stars folder although it's hard to see.

These may be one of my most favorite projects ever and the photo does NOT do them justice!  Cacti are everywhere right now and I decided we needed a few for our summer decor!  I browsed some ideas on Pinterest and actually freehanded two of them and used oval dies for the third.  They each use a different stamp for the needles and I just think they are SO CUTE!
And finally my scrapbook page.  I kept it simple with some stamped elements and washi tape.  The title is from the tin of cards set although it didn't photograph well.  It says happy baby because well...he IS a happy baby!

I hope you've enjoyed my entries as much as I've enjoyed making them!  Now I'll wait and cross my fingers :-)  I had some much fun with the April event and met some wonderful new friends!

Happy stamping!

Fab Friday 88

Hi stampers!  Happy Friday!  Well, I didn't die on my stroller run with Ian yesterday but he has gotten much heavier since last summer, lol!  I was able to do around 1.75 miles with him...slow miles...and I"m slow to being with.  Guess I'll have to work up to it! Another reason stamping and blogging have been slow around here (seeing a theme with me...slow????) is the FB event I'm throwing.  My virtual workshop has been taking up some time, make sure you don't miss my upcoming online events, ok?  But at least I'm back for Fab Friday today and I'm super excited about all the new catalog stuff coming up!

But, this color challenge is using a couple of the outgoing in colors, take a look!

I thought the bold colors would look great with marquee messages and I think it did!

It's hard to see, but the sentiment is embossed in white and I used gold wink of stella on the honey "lights' and the clear on the stars.  It's a lot more striking in person....and not really crooked..sorry about that :-)

Make sure to play along with us, ok?

Cover Inspired

Hi stampers!  I've been quiet, I know, but I have a quick post for today.  This color combo was inspired by the cover of the new catalog, I LOVE it!  I combined some new in colors with the project life set from the Occasions and a stamp from the new oh happy day kit!  I love using "old" and new together!

I'm really going to miss those enamel dots from the Occasions.  They are so fun and you don't just have to use them with the It's my party suite!  Hoping to see more of them in the seasonal catalogs!

Gotta run, like literally...I'm going to attempt to jog with Ian (haven't done that since last fall) to the pool preview party.  Wish me luck ;-)

Happy stamping!

Mailable Monday - Washi Tape

Hi stampers!  Quick post and quick card today!  I featured this card on my FB page in a live post a few weeks ago.  You really should follow me over there.  I try to post often and you may find things that you don't see here ;-)  I'm having a virtual workshop this week as well and there's still time to join in the fun if you want!  RSVP on my FB page, send me a message, or email me!

Here's the card which is super simple, super cute, and uses some fun new stuff!

I really like the combo of sugarplum and black!  That's some of the new washi tape and the CUTE sentiment is from the new oh happy day kit and I love it!  Don't forget you don't have to use the stamp sets in the kits with just the kit!

And I hope to see you at my workshop!

Happy stamping!

Virtual Workshop

Hi stampers!  I don't have a project to share at the moment as it's been busy around here with getting new carpet in almost the whole house and then having to go get Ian from Grandma's farm where he spent the week while we got the carpet.  Let's just say that the trip back alone with him yesterday wasn't the most fun we've ever had with him napping exactly 28 minutes out of the 4+ hour drive.  Yeesh....most kids get sleepy in the car...not this kid ;-)

Anyway, I wanted to share with you the virtual workshop I'm having this coming week over on my Facebook page.  Do you follow me on FB?  You really should!  I post there pretty often and you may see things you don't see here!  So, follow me if you don't and RSVP for my party!  Here's the link to my page.

I'll send you a little project to put together Saturday night live with me and I'll be posting videos and tips and inspiration all week!  You can party in your PJ's!

Hope to see you there!

Happy stamping!

Freaking Excited

Hi stampers!  It's been quiet over here with grandma visiting for over a week and the prepping for new carpet we just got.  But, it's time for this month's Control Freak's blog hop so here I am!

This month's theme is pretty exciting, it's something old/something new.  One of my favorite things to do is use current catalog stuff with new pre-order items!  It's amazing how well old products and new ones can work together!  Speaking of amazing, you may have come from Cindy's blog and her amazing projects, but don't worry if you didn't!  We make an endless loop so just keep clicking!

So here's my first project.  We got this stamp set at On Stage (Moroccan nights) and while it's not something I'd EVER pick, I challenged myself to use it.  It works perfectly with the bohemian DSP and washi tape from the current catalog.  I stuck a gold button on there too to try to use those up!

My next card combines the watercolor wings set which is carrying over with some new in colors.  I tried really hard to resist this set but I finally broke down and got it when I saw the new catalog.  You'll see some flirty flamingo and sweet sugarplum for my new items.  The vellum DSP is layered over a panel of sweet sugarplum and it just softens it ever so much.

I hope you enjoyed this month's projects and I hope it inspires you to try something old with something new! And make sure you go check out Heidi's projects and everyone else's too!  It's a freaky good time ;-)

Happy stamping!

Fab Friday 87

Hi stampers!  It's Friday and time for a new challenge at Fab Friday!  I've not gotten much stamping (well I have but for some specific things for later) or blogging done with my mom here.  Grandma keeps us busy :-)  Anyway, I at least got this done the other night when my pre-order came.  This week is a sketch for you.

My card didn't turn out quite like I'd planned but here it is:

Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:
Paper:  Whisper white, flirty flamingo, dapper denim, emerald envy, watercolor
Ink:  Flirty flamingo, dapper denim, emerald envy
Accessories:  2.5 inch circle punch

I only got this ONE stamp set, can you believe it???  I'm saving my pennies for the ones I want that weren't available that I will snatch up on June 1!!!  I didn't think I really needed any flowers but some of the display stampers really rocked this set so we'll see what happens.

And I realized I meant to do something to the inside of the flower while I'm blogging this but I was in a rush to watch some shows after stamping the other night, lol!  Guess I forgot.  Oh well ;-)

Make sure to check out what the rest of the team did!  And don't forget to play along with us!

Exhausted

Hi stampers!  I have been working on this post for two nights!  Ever since we got back from my in-law's for Mother's Day I have been exhausted...like not being able to keep my eyes open at 7pm!  And no, I'm 200% NOT pregnant before anyone goes there ;-)  Maybe it was the travel, or my allergies, or both?  Luckily my mom came back with us for a little visit so I have some help around the house but blogging and stamping have taken a back seat to snoozing on the couch :-)  Hopefully I'll be energized tomorrow night for my pre-order box arrival!

Anyway, I have a quick and simple little card to share today.  This was made with a few of our new in colors and the special stamp set from last month's my paper pumpkin anniversary set.

Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  MPP anniversary set
Paper:  Whisper white
Ink:   Dapper denim, emerald envy, sweet sugarplum, flirty flamingo
Accessories:  Linen thread, gold buttons, lots of labels framelits

I'm still trying to use some of the retiring items like those gold buttons.  I'm sad to see them go :(

Here's to hoping I find some more energy in the evenings to put ink to paper!!!

Happy stamping!

Dash of Dapper Denim

Hi stampers!  I'm feeling rather blah and tired as I'm writing this (on Wednesday) so it will be a short one I think.  No idea what's up but Ian's down for his nap and after my shower I'm just meh!  I think I'll just lay here and look at my catalog after I finish this up!

This card has a touch of dapper denim which is a new in color and oh so pretty!  I am also trying to use up a lot of retiring products so here ya go!

I'm really going to miss the your so lovely stamp set, especially for that circle image!  I'll also really miss those deco label framelits!  They are prefect to layer!

Happy stamping!

New But Retro?

Hi stampers!  I'm sharing a card today with a set that I LOVE!  When I peeked inside our bags at OnStage I was totally excited to see it!  It's called marquee messages and it's totally cute and fun!  Maybe I like it because Vegas is one of my favorite places (I mean who doesn't love a place that has something going on at every single hour of the day and can be completely different from one visit to the next????) and it has a total Vegas vibe!!!  It's got different messages you can put inside the marquee itself, so cute!  If you haven't checked out my previous cards this week you need to!  I combined this set with the it's my party suite and it's just SO cute!  But, it's just fabulous all on it's own, see...

Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Marquee messages
Paper:  Whisper white, basic black, Bermuda bay, it's my party DSP stack, watercolor paper
Ink:  Staz on, daffodil delight, Bermuda bay, peek-a-boo peach
Accessories:  Basic rhinestones, clear wink of stella, stars embossing folder

I didn't intend to cut this out when I started stamping but of course I had an accident and dropped the darned aqua painter and got ink all outside the lines. Sigh.  So I fussy cut it out, which isn't all that hard with this set and it looks pretty fabulous cut out!

It also features a peek at a new in color.  Peek-a-boo peach is pretty bright, I'd almost call it neon!  There's some wink of stella for shimmer on the stars but it's not showing in the photos.

One other tip I have is for the rhinestones.  It uses a LOT of them!  I tend not to use the little strips of rhinestones that come all attached together so often times I'll snip in between then with just the point of my paper snips and it separates them so you can use them like individual jewels.  So if you're hesitant to buy them because you don't think you'll use the strips, just do what I do and grab yourself a few packs!  I also use my paper piercer to pick them up and set them onto my project.

I hope you enjoyed this little peek at a new set and new color!  And I totally should have made a Star Wars card for May the 4th...I've been brought over to the dark side through Jon and Ian ;-)

Happy stamping!

More Party Wishes

Hi stampers!  I'm back with another project from the it's my party suite.  Have I mentioned I'm really sad this only has less than a month left????  Like yesterday, I added the little sparkle image from marquee messages because it's just so cute!  I may stamp EVERYTHING with it!

Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Party wishes, marquee messages
Paper:  Whisper white, basic black
Ink:  Basic black, daffodil delight, melon mambo, mint macaron
Accessories:  It's my party washi tape, it's my party enamel dots, lots of labels framelits

I have to say this card is inspired by my dear friend Wendy!  She's a genius with cutting frames with the framelits which I never think to do, so I'm trying to take a page from her book!

Check back tomorrow for the reveal of marquee messages!  There will be a break from the party suite for at least one day ;-)

Happy stamping!

It's My Party

Hi stampers! So now that it's May, I'm trying to focus on a lot of the products that are going to be retiring soon.  I LOVE the it's my party suite out of the Occasions catalog!  Speaking of parties, I'm hosting my first ever virtual FaceBook party over on my FaceBook business page!  Like my page and  join me the week of May 16th for fun posts, inspiration and a live stamping presentation. You can check it out HERE.  I'm hoping if it goes well I can do more virtual parties and classes so if that's something you'd be interested in, please let me know!

Anyway, back to the suite!  I just love the colors and how festive all these products look!  I've been trying to play with all this stuff before it's run is over at the end of May (major sad face).  I paired it with some emboss resist today for a fun card!  And the suite also pairs well with the everyday chic washi tape (another HUGE sad face it's retiring).

Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Party wishes, marquee messages
Paper:  Whisper white, it's my party DSP stack
Ink:  Basic black, mint macaron, versa mark
Accessories:  White EP, it's my party washi tape, it's my party enamel dots, handheld stapler

I also added some accents from a new set in the upcoming catalog that I LOVE and I'll be sharing later this week!  These little stars or sparkles are just perfect!  It's fun to mix new sets with old ones!

Happy stamping!
