Happy Halloween!

Hi stampers!  Happy Halloween!  I know I say that I can't believe another month is almost over often, but October went so fast (I'll change my tune in the middle of winter, I'm sure)!

This is the first year that Ian really "gets' Halloween so it's been fun!  We've gone to FOUR "punkin patches" and he loves them!  He wasn't a huge fan of his costume so we practiced trick or treating at home for M&M's and he's figured out if he wears it, he gets candy.  He didn't like mine for a while either, lol!  Last year his costume was just regular clothes.  That probably would have been a good route to go this year.  Toddlers...you live you learn, right?  We have also gone back home for the past two years since we don't know a lot of people here and it was on the weekend so his grandparents could enjoy him but this year we are staying here to take him trick or treating!  Our town had a trick or treat event in the cute little downtown area over the weekend so we took him for some real practice and he did great even though it was CRAY-to-the-ZEE!  Dad has a costume too, but it won't make an appearance until today!  Ian is obsessed with Nemo and more so, Dory, so.....

Ignore my ugly sunglasses.  I have to wear my glasses for a while and am super sensitive to light so I have the awesome sunglasses you wear over your glasses, lol!  I'm not a glasses person so please pray that I get the ok for contacts on Tuesday!

And now onto the card if that wasn't enough cuteness for you :-)

Since I finally remembered that teeny tiny wishes was current, I had to get some use out of it :-)  The pumpkin is from jar of haunts and I cut it out of watercolor paper.  I actually like something I colored!

I hope everyone has a happy halloween!

Fab Friday 99

Hi stampers!  It's Friday or Fri-YAY as I may call it from time to time :)  The weeks sure do seem to go faster now that Ian is older and we can get out and do more!  I am dreading colder weather since we will be stuck inside more but I do love the holidays between now and New Years!

Since it's Friday again already, it's time for a new challenge at Fab Friday!  This week we have a sketch for you.

While I probably should have tried to crank out a few more Halloween cards or even a fall card, I totally went with Christmas on this one.  Shocking, I know ;-)

I really like how stamping with emerald envy on mint macaroon turns out.  It's very bold and pretty!  And more interesting that just on some whisper white which would have gotten lost in the DSP.

Make sure to check out what the rest of the team did and play along!

Are You My Mummy?

Hi stampers!  Just a few days until Halloween now!  Ian said Halloween for the first time today although he's SO NOT into wearing his costume...or letting me wear mine so we'll see how that goes. I guess we should have practiced earlier or went with something that was just normal clothes.  Toddlers...you live you learn, right?

At least I have a few more Halloween cards to share :-)

Two things.  First, I recently realized that one of our framelits looks JUST like a tombstone with the bottom cut off!  Second, I totally spaced out while making this card and some others that teeny tiny wishes was STILL current.  I didn't have any/many Halloween sentiments that worked so I pulled out a retired set.  DUH!  The TTW's sentiment would have been perfect here but this works too.

In Stitches!

Hi stampers!  I don't have a project for you today but I have an awesome announcement!  SU just announced that on November 1, you'll be able to order a brand-new thinlit set that will be in the 2017-2018 catalog!  I couldn't be MORE excited that they are releasing these STITCHED dies!

Of course, these are all the rage right now and I love them and can't wait to get my hands on them!  How fun are they?  Please note that the graphic says today but it's November 1, ok?  And there will be some sets from the current catalog that coordinate with them on sale as well.

I'll post more info on that on the 1st but I wanted to give you a quick peek!  And make sure to check out this little video from SU as well!

Aren't they just the perfect finishing touch?

Grateful Freaks!

Hi stampers!  How can it be time for a Control Freaks blog hop already?

Wasn't it just September????  Anyway, this month's theme is gratitude and I'm so grateful for all my stamping friends and my little hobby!  Speaking of great stamping friends, you may have just come from Cindy's blog where you saw her awesome projects!  Don't worry if you didn't, we make an endless loop so just keep clicking and you'll get all the way around!

My first project uses acorny thank you, which tends to get overlooked since it's in the main catalog.  I combined it with the sweater DSP because it's awesome and I love cozy sweaters in the fall!  The top of the acorn is also embossed in copper.  I pressed the whole thing into my versa mark pad and then heat set it.

I also made a Thanksgiving card.  I love Thanksgiving!  Who doesn't love family and food????  I recently bought some felt balls to make a garland for November and thought the colors were perfect for a card!  I used cherry cobbler, cajun craze, pumpkin pie, tangerine tango, and delightful dijon.

You may need to click and enlarge this one.  I used an embossed a strip of vanilla CS with the woodland folder so it's tone on tone and hard to see here but it looks cool!  I also totally forgot about Teeny Tiny Wishes still being current, ha!  So after using it for some Halloween cards I kept it out for the sentiment here!

And now it's time to keep hopping.  You're off to Amy's blog to see her fabulous projects!

Fab Friday 98

Hi stampers and happy Friday!  It's time for a new challenge over at Fab Friday.  How can it be the middle of October already?  Fall is going too fast and I'm not ready for Halloween yet!  Guess I better get our costumes ordered!  Anyway, this color challenge is perfect for Halloween!

Of course you could do anything with it but as usual, I went with the obvious.

Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Labeler alphabet, goulish grunge
Paper:  Whisper white, basic black, old olive
Ink:  Basic black, old olive, perfect plum
Accessories:  Doilies, enamel dots, large number framelits, sparkle embossing folder

It's been a while since I felt inspired but I have to say this card did it!  I was thinking about what I was going to do the other night since I don't have many current Halloween sentiments.  It dawned on me pull out the number framelits!  And I like the use of the feminine doilies with the spooky Halloween elements!

I hope you feel inspired to play along with us!  Head on over to the site, check out the rest of the team's designs and link your project!

Pom Pom Inspired

Hi stampers!   So I had dad do bath and bed time the other night so I could get some stamping done.  Now that Ian goes to bed just slightly later, I seem to have trouble getting downstairs to craft.  And Ian is at an age now that he requests both of us (and grandma and grandpa if they happen to be here) at bath time, "Mammo come" he says :-)  And he calls me Mammo...he said it once and thought it was funny so I guess he decided to go with it, LOL!!!!!  When he went to bed before or at 7, it seemed easier to have time to stamp.  Now, it's almost 8 by the time I get down there and then I like to relax around 9 and am often in bed or asleep before 10.  I'm so not a night owl, ha!

Anyway, I got a couple of projects done and felt really good about them!  I love when that happens and I wish it would happen more!  I toyed with the idea of this card most of the day.  I was inspired by a pack of felt balls that I had gotten to make this Halloween garland.  If you follow me on Instagram, you've probably seen me post about making a few of these.  I think they are cute, festive, and Ian likes them!

So, once I strung these up the other night, I thought those are SU colors and I should totally make a card with them!

Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Project life date it, goulish grunge
Paper:  Whisper white, basic black, pumpkin pie, tangerine tango, old olive
Ink:  Tangerine tango, old olive, pumpkin pie
Accessories:  Metallic doilies, large numbers framelits, halloween night baker's twine and enamel dots

Yes, I'm aware it kind of looks like my recent Fab Friday card but it was working for me so I went for it :-)  I made the polka dots with a sponge dauber.  I really, really like these colors together!  I love it when a plan actually comes together, don't you?

Scared...

Hi stampers!  I thought a scarecrow card would be appropriate for my post today because I'm scared! I'm scared to go down to my stamp studio because it smells like SKUNK!  UGH!

I was watching TV last night around 8:30 and thought I smelled skunk and pretty soon it was apparent that one prayed outside our back door.  There are two windows to the basement back there and it smells SO bad down there.  The main floor was fine this morning but with the door closed to the basement it was trapped all night.  I don't want to leave it open while we are home because the smell gave me a headache ALL last night and this morning so I'm in no hurry for the smell to come back up here and I won't leave the door open with Ian because of the stairs.  I'm hoping it will air out when we go to the gym and I'll spray some febreeze.  I'll also be picking up an industrial size box of baking soda and maybe some charcoal!  Anything to get that smell out!

Anyway, here's a cute little card I made with the cookie cutter halloween stamp.  This is probably my favorite image in the set!

The sentiment is from the acorny thank you set from the main catalog.  Don't forget to mix and match your sets from both catalogs!  Isn't this guy just darling?!?!

I Think I'm Clever

Hi stampers!  It's been a while.  I was gone for a week in Florida/Alabama with my in-laws and I'm just getting back to "normal"...if I ever have normal, ha!  Ian did amazing on our flights and on the vacation although he really missed him and asked to go home often about halfway through.  He wasn't a fan of the sand on the beach and I don't blame him, I don't like the beach either!  He DID enjoy going to the pool everyday.  He'd wake up and say, "I go pool today" each morning :-)

I intended to get a bunch of photos edited and blog posts typed up to share but that didn't happen.  Probably because I started a book series and got sucked in...I didn't realize there were at least four books...and I'm not done with the fourth one yet, eek!

Anyway, I'm taking a break to share a little card with you since it's OCTOBER already, how did that happen?  I think I'm pretty clever with this one even though I know I'm really not :-)

See what I did there?  LOL!  I crack myself up, I swear! :-)  If you're wondering where I got that black doily, I simply sponged the back side of one of our metallic doilies with black ink.  I think it looks a little spooky!  But it's not TOO spooky since that little guy is kinda cute!

Happy stamping!
