Fab Friday 92

Hi stampers!  Happy Friday!  How is it nearing the end of July already?  I'm pretty sure I say the same thing every week but man, summer is FLYING by!  Which means, before you know it, it will be Christmas time!  So, we have a perfect challenge for you over at Fab Friday!  It's Christmas in July!

Of course, feel free to make your project with any theme you choose but really this IS perfect for Christmas in July!  Everyone knows I LOVE Christmastime so I had to make Christmas card!  I have to say, I'm not very inclined to use garden green but it really is a great color for the holidays.

Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Peaceful pines
Paper:  Very vanilla, cherry cobbler, garden green
Ink:  Garden green
Accessories:  Softly falling embossing folder, peaceful pines and lots of labels framelits, metallic foil doilies, metallics sequins assortment

Make sure to check out all of the design team's projects and play along with us!

Thankful Thursday

Hi stampers!  Look at me posting every day!  Don't get used to it, ha!  Anyway, since we had a break from the hello lovely color combo yesterday, I don't feel so bad showing AGAIN today;-)

I really do think this is one of the last things I have made up with it for now though.  For this card I cased a design by Amy O'neill and it's one I've used before.  I kind of love it!

Stamps:  Thoughtful banners, watercolor wings
Paper:  Whisper white, basic black, peekaboo peach, watercolor
Ink:  White craft ink, old olive, soft sky, peekaboo peach
Accessories:  Sweetheart punch, duet banner punch, circle punch, gold metallic thread, in color enamel shapes, hello lovely PL accessory kit, gold wink of Stella brush, white embossing powder,

I did some watercoloring for the background and then added some splatters with my wink of Stella pen.  The dots are actually from the watercolor wings stamp set and then there's some gold thread back there which is harder to see.  I really love the sweetheart punch and I forget to give it some love most of the time.  And then I finally broke down and got the thankful banners set.  You can see I bent my sentiment to fit within the banner.  I didn't do a great job so next time I'll be more careful and check it ;-)  But that's the nice thing about PP stamps, you can bend them!

And then there's the washi tape from the PL kit.  I LOVE it!

Washi Wednesday

Hi stampers!  We've made it half way through the week, yay!  I got the pop of pink stuff long ago but have yet to use it so I pulled it out the other day.  It looks great with the stamps from the oh happy day kit.

Stamps:  Oh happy day kit
Paper:  Whisper white, basic black
Ink:  Basic black, versamark
Accessories:  Pop of pink washi tape, sequins metallic assortment, gold embossing powder

The friend sentiment it embossed with gold and I kind of love it!  I especially love the two fonts here as well.  Simple card but so cute, right?

Tangerine Tuesday

Hi stampers!  You're seeing the same color combo I've been obsessed with AGAIN.  Sorry not sorry though, it's really a great one.  It's taken from the hello lovely project life kit which I said I focused on last week and I've been continuing to use it.

I really like this stamp in two colors and it's easy to do with sponge daubers.  I use one dauber to apply the lighter color, peekaboo peach here, and then another to add the darker color around the outer edge.  I think this gives a much softer and more blended look than the rock and roll technique.

This card is also cased from a sample in the catalog.  In the catalog it's a gift bag I believe but I made mine into a card.
Stamps:  Scenic sayings
Paper:  Whisper white, basic black, soft sky, serene scenery DSP stack
Ink:  Peekaboo peach, tangerine tango
Accessories: Sparkle embossing folder, metallics assortment sequins, metallic foil doilies, pool party stitched satin ribbon

I really don't use old olive or tangerine tango much these days but this combo is sure making up for that!  It's funny how that happens!

Mailable Monday

Hi stampers!  Happy Monday, I hope your week is off to a fabulous start!  I'll be visiting my best friend this week so I tried to get some pretty things made over the weekend and ready to go up on the blog all through the week!  Go me!  Hehe!

Today's card is super simple but it's cute and totally mailable!

Stamps:  Scenic sayings
Paper:  Basic black, peekaboo peach, playful pallete DSP stack
Ink:  Basic black, peekaboo peach
Accessories:  None

The scenic sayings stamp sets is one of my very favorites.  I love large stamps that make an easy card and that's exactly what this set does!

I stamped directly on the DSP and then stamped it again on peach cardstock then cut the banner out.
I have to tell you that I really didn't care for this paper upon first glance (or the 20th or 30th).  The colors and patterns were a little too early 90's for me and I've heard a lot of people say the same.  There is literally a pattern or two that I'm pretty sure the designer stole from the comforter in my bedroom circa 1993 ;-)  BUT, as usual, I saw people make stuff with the paper stack and I came around and had to have it...funny how that works!  But I still don't want that comforter back ;-)

Lovely Globe

Hi stampers!  This week seems like the longest one ever after a short week last week I guess!  Anyway, here's another card I made with the hello lovely PL set.  I paired it with the globe from places you'll go and I love it!

Stamps:  Places you'll go, project life hello lovely accessory pack, gorgeous grunge
Paper:  Whisper white, basic black, soft sky
Ink:  Versamark, basic black, going gray, old olive, tangerine tango
Accessories:  Project life hello lovely accessory kit, copper EP, black baker's twine

I used the sequins from the kit as well, love those!  And I totally missed the black baker's twine in my first 100 or so catalog pass throughs!  I'd seen and gotten the black and white twine but I'm loving the plain black!  And as I mentioned earlier this week, I love the color combo in this kit!

Hello Lovely

Hi stampers!  Can I just take a minute to say that in a crazy, crazy world, I'm so glad we have this hobby and art form to make beautiful things in an ugly world!

Anyway, I struggled to focus this weekend so I tried to come up with ways to create something.  Sometimes I get overwhelmed with choices so I need to give myself some limits.  This weekend I decided I'd break out the hello lovely project life accessory kit and focus on the items and colors in it. I would never put all the colors together on my own but they are SOOOOO pretty!  That really helped me to get going and gave me a good goal.  I ended up making a number of things and incorporating a lot of different stamp sets and items.  Sometimes I need to think small to come up with BIG ideas :-)

I really love the washi tape in this kit and the colors which is why I decided to focus on it.  Oh, and the sequins!  They sequins are to die for!  Don't forget that project life accessory kits make great cards as well as the actual card kits themselves!  This kit is really beautiful!  Here's my favorite card from this weekend!

Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps: Hello lovely (PL accessory kit)
Paper:  Whisper white, basic black, soft sky, peekaboo peach
Ink:  Versamark, basic black, old olive, peekaboo peach
Accessories:  Hello lovely project life accessory kit, linen thread, metallic foil doilies

And if you haven't noticed, they changed up the way the accessory kits and stamp sets are offered for Project Life this year.  Each new accessory kit has a mini stamp set included.  They are really cute!  Don't forget about them if you get a kit and they make great cards!

Fab Friday 91

Hi stampers and happy Friday!  This week sure was quick with the holiday!  It's time for a new challenge at Fab Friday and this week is a sketch.

The challenge graphics may look a little different for a while as my hard drive crashed.  I was stupid and didn't have thing backed up so I need to find some new fonts and see if I can get my hands on some of the downloads I once had.  My watermarks may look a bit different as I try to figure out one I like as well.

At least I have all of my cards and projects documented on my blog!  I watercolored the label shape and I embossed the "hello".

Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Sunshine sayings, labeler alphabet
Paper:  Whisper white, basic black, pool party, dapper denim, flirty flamingo, watercolor paper
Ink:  Basic black, pool party, dapper denim, versamark
Accessories:  White perfect accents, white EP, lots of labels framelits, sunshine wishes framelits, sparkle embossing folder

Make sure to check out all of the samples from the design team and we'd love to have you play along!

Foxy Baby

Hi stampers!  How is this week almost over already?  The summer goes so fast while cold and dreary seasons drag oooooonnnnnnnn!  Granted, this week was a short one but man, it's gone fast.  I think that's part of the reason I don't stamp sometimes, both during Ian's nap and after he goes to bed, when I stamp the time passes too quickly, lol!  Before I know it, it's time for him to get up or for me to go to bed.   I'm working on it ;-)  Well after I get the laundry caught up from our trip maybe!

Today I have a little baby card to share with you that will be finding it's way to someone very near and dear to Stampin' Up and her new little addition!  I've used this sketch a time or two and it's definitely a good, quick go to!

Look at that!  I made a fox card without even using a stamp from the fox set!  How cute is that DSP? I also love the colors in the DSP.  I feel like this is a gender neutral card even with the pop of calypso coral.

Want some other fun news?  SU is running a first of it's kind special this month!  For every $50 you spend (before tax and shipping) you'll earn a $5 coupon to use in August!

The coupon will come to your email inbox and you can use it August 2-31.  Also, during that time you can use your coupon(s) toward the purchase of a special stamp set and framelit bundle!  Here's a look at what you can get in August!

Of course, you can use it on anything else you'd like as well.  Contact me today if you have any questions!

Time to go do some more laundry ;-)

Home Is

Hi stampers!  I hope everyone had a fun and safe Independence Day and weekend.  We took a barely-belated trip to St. Louis for our 6th anniversary and left Ian with my in laws and then spent some time with them on the 4th before traveling home.  Needless to say, I've not gotten much stamping or blogging in and I've been working on this post all day, ha!  I need a vacation from my mini-vacation...funny how that works!

I made this card for my hubby.  Due to the nature of his job, we'll be moving every so often and probably within the next 6 months to a year (which yes, it scares the crap out of me, ha) so this card seemed rather fitting ;-)
I just love the copper embossing powder.  I blended the ink after stamping with a blender pen.  If you try it, just make sure to wait until it's dry to stamp over it.  I used my heat tool to speed things along.

Hopefully once I get all caught up on laundry I can stamp ;-)

Happy stamping!
