Color Me Happy Christmas Card - Stampin Up Global Artisan Design Team Blog Hop

Hi stampers!  It's time for another ADT blog hop!  I can't believe we only have one more hop left this year!  It's gone so fast and I'm sure to get mushy and sentimental in next month's post ;-)  I still can't believe that I got to be a part of this amazing and talented group of stampers even for a little bit, let alone a whole year!

Anyway,  this hop is an "open hop" so you may see a few different things!  It was suggested at some point, that we could use the Color Me Happy Stamp Set and Kit to do something different with it.  I took that to mean on our hop for the Blends so I did a New Year's card with the lanterns.  But then I got to thinking, that I wanted to do something else to show the versatility of the kit and stamp set!  I have to say, this isn't really anything I would have put together left to my own devices but I love how this team challenges me!  I mean, the colors of the kit just don't scream Christmas, do they?

But, I'm ALL CHRISTMAS like all the time over here right now :-)  So, I wanted to create a Christmas card with the kit and I think I really like how it turned out!

I colored my birdies with cherry cobbler and old olive and I feel like it paired with the blue so well.  The colors are so rich!  I used the celebrate sentiment from the stamp set and pulled in the Christmas from Merry Cafe.  A bit of black really made all the colors pop.  A few of the little star sequins were the perfect finishing touch.

Again, this isn't a card I would have made on my own without the push of an "assignment" but I really, really, REALLY like it!  Find yourself a challenge and step outside your comfort zone, too!

But first, go visit Miriam in the Netherlands and see what she has for you, it's going to be amazing as always!

I hope you enjoyed my project and maybe it helps you see the Color Me Happy kit in a different light!

Christmas In The Making

Hi stampers!  It's Christmas in the making over here!  We got the tree up (a small one...Jon didn't want to mess with the awesome and large one from my childhood...boo) and I need to get the rest of the decorations up this week!  It feels weird since it was almost 70 yesterday, ha!  But I love Christmas as you know and decorating!  Ian is pretty into it this year as well!

I've had this card done for a while and haven't had time to share!  I just love coloring this lady with my Blends markers!  I couldn't decide which snowflake looked better so I used both silver and gold!

I rolled both ends of my sentiment as well.   It's hard to see but it's the perfect finishing touch!  The sentiment is from the hostess set in the holiday catalog.  I try not to get too many of them but I loved this one!   This card took a while to take shape but I really like how it turned out!

Don't forget that there is FREE shipping today!

Now I'm off to try to convince Jon to put up the big tree...and find a place where it can fit :-)

Stampin Up 2018 Occasions & SAB Display Stamper Blog Hop - Day 7

Hi stampers!  It's been quite a week!  We've been to both my parents houses and my in laws, celebrated Thanksgiving and Jon's birthday and drove back to Oklahoma!  It hasn't left much time for stamping which is why I was happy to do this hop!  I hope you've enjoyed all the projects this week!  I need to catch up!  With all our travels, I haven't had a chance to check out the last few hops! Make sure to go back if you missed any, too!

I have my last two projects today and then it's back to full on Christmas mode!  We put up the tree today so I'm more than ready!

I love the combo of tranquil tide, berry burst, fresh fig, and lemon lime twist with this stamp set!

I kept this one super simple, almost too simple, but I still love it!  It would make a great beginner card since you don't need many supplies!  And it's always great to show how to doodle around an edge.  It's super simple and easy touch!

Sorry about the two black dots (if you can see them)!  I took my pictures after the event and forgot to take the velcro dots off of the back and they showed through a little.

That's it for me so now it's time to check out what Charlet did.

Thanks so much for hopping with us.  And to my fellow display stampers, I have so loved seeing what you made, you're all SO talented <3 p="">

<3 p="">Happy stamping!
