Playing with starter kit stamps finally!

So my starter kit arrived on Friday, woo-hoo....except I had to work a softball game that night (silly job), then go out with my BFF who was in town (yippie!), and then went to St. Louis for the weekend with my boy friend (had a ton of fun!)...so I didn't get to even look at my goodies until last night. So I made up for it and stamped until 11 last night! Wanted to stamp some more today but after workout, buying doggie food and the post office I found out I had a continuing ed thing at work, blah. So needless to say I havn't got to stamp today. But I thought I'd post what I did last night. I'm working on making cards to display and have on hand for workshops and such. It's hard for me to not use anything retired!!! I have set a date for my first workshop! It's going to be May 16th so I'm trying to figure out what card(s) to demo as well. Last night I used the Priceless set. Can't beleive I waited so long to get it! Very versitile and cute! Here is what I came up with (all ideas came from Splitcoast, I have to say).

So Kind Thanks:
Paper: Kiwi kiss, baja breeze, NQN
Ink: NQN
Punched out circle and scallops and popped up with dimensionals also uses Define your life with NQN ink sponged around the definition.

Priceless Turquois birthday
Paper: WW, Tempting turq, kiwi kiss
Ink: same
Flower is cut out also uses Top Note die

Purple Priceless Birthday:
Paper: Perfect plum, WW, Kiwi kiss, Rose red
Ink: Rose red and elegant eggplant
Circle punches

Thanks for looking! Hopefully I get more time to play soon! I have about 5 different cards started laying on my desk at the moment!

SU! Papers are da best!

So, being the daughter of a "tight-wad" as she calls herself....and so do we, haha...I try to save money when and where I can...sometimes anyway (I may have a shopping problem...but it's only a problem if you admit it, right???? Hahaha).

So in the past, I've gone to Hobby Lobby for my basic cardstock in black and white. I've been noticing lately that when I cut it, it does not cut near as cleanly as SU! papers do and is WAAAAYYYY flimsy. I wanted to make a wedding card with a white base but there is no way I'm using that flimsy paper. Guess I'll have to wait for my demo kit to arrive. I really used to think what's the difference, it's just paper (even thought I've used SU! colored CS forever since I luv thier colors!). Well I'm sold on SU! exclusivley now and will definately be letting my customers know this. I'm going to save my "crappy" paper to show them the difference. So just like I won't buy generic peanut butter (Jif baby!) I won't be buying generic cardstock anymore...some things you just can't go cheap on!

PS: Promise to start posting pics soon:-)

So I DID IT!

I signed up on Friday to be a SU! Demo. Kit is on the way. Tried to stamp over the weekend but didn't get anything done by the time I looked around the SU! demo website and the SCS demo website, haha. Had a continuing ed class all day today so didn't get anything done today either. Maybe tomorrow night! Trying to come up with ways to get some customers now and figure out what I want to put on my first order. I can tell you it's gonna be a big one! If anyone reading this is in need of a demo, letta girl know:-) Well I'm not feeling the greatest and had to be up early so I had better cut my web surfing time short tonight! Hopefully I can get some pics uploaded tomorrow!

Testing the waters

So with SAB in full swing (and almost over!) I'm thinking about signing up to be a Stampin' Up! demonstrator,so I thought I'd make a blog, at least for fun in the mean time, or at least see what this is all about. I have no problem parting with my money usually but this scares me for some reason. I've wanted to do it for years so why not now while the economy is in the tank, haha. I'll just consider it my own personal stimulus package because I will be stimulating the economy single-handedly, hahaha! So here goes nothing....
