Old and New

Hi stamper!  I think I've mentioned before that one of the great benefits to being a demonstrator is the pre-orders for our catalogs.  You get to order items a full month ahead of time which gives you more time to play (or sit and stare at your stuff if you're me, LOL)!  Seriously though, I love getting another month out of everything and I LOVE combining "old" stuff with the new stuff like I did here in this card.

This card uses the circle stamp from pieces & patterns.  I combined it with the little plus element from the hello lovely PL accessory pack along with the new lime in color which is quickly becoming my favorite color.  It's so vibrant and looks so great with so many of our colors!  I also used tranquil tide and I'm loving the combo of the two new in colors plus emerald envy!

This stamp set is part of a suite with DSP so I wanted to make sure to create something without using the colors in the suite.  I think sometimes we get stuck ONLY using the colors in a suite, at least I know I do.  But the options are really endless!

Soft Sayings

Hi stampers!  Quick post today.  Can I just say I love the soft sayings card kit?  I think I mentioned it already but I love it, the stamp set, and the colors!  I whipped one up quick the other day!

I made it just like the kit and it's so simple and so cute!  Sorry for the yellow cast...still working on that.  Sigh...

Happy stamping!

Mailable Monday Pre-Order Edition

Hi stampers!  I'm back...I hope :-)  I got a little stamping done over the weekend even with our rummage sale.  The sale was a total flop and we maybe made 30 dollars, lol!  Jon ran out to get change and said he could barely get in or our of the neighborhood BUT I guess hardly anyone came back to our street.  We didn't think to get signs and only one other house on our street (way far down) had a sale.  At least we know to get signs for next time and I might advertise in the paper.  And it helped motivated me to unpack and organize more.  Now, I'll have things pretty ready to go next year too (as well as have things set out to donate) so all in all it wasn't terrible and we got rid of a few things at least!  I need to work this week on some more organization and unpacking and finding a place to store it all for next time.  Oh, and since we were out in the garage anyway, we got some more boxes broken down so that's good too!

Anyway, I made a really simple card with stamp set from the soft sayings card kits.  I LOVE the set in the kit and I love that you can use the stamp set for anything you want, NOT just the kit itself!  I think we forget that sometimes!  I also really love the new in colors so I hope you don't get sick of them.

Don't look too close at my coloring (as I show you a close up, ha)!  I kind of decided to color the flowers in at the last minute and smudged my sentiment.  If I did it over, I'd color it in first then stamp in black.  I thought it would look cool with just the outlines but it was missing something.

I'm not doing a supply list as the supplies don't seem to be in the database yet.  Sorry!  The colors are berry burst, powder pink and lemon lime twist.

Happy stamping!

Eastern Palace Cards - Global Artisan Design Team Blog Hop

Hi stampers!  I swear I'm going to get around to stamping and blogging regularly...as soon as this weekend and our rummage sale passes :-)  I've been working away in the attic trying to get organized and completely unpacked, but more about that in another post!

Today, it's time for another ADT blog hop!  Take a trip around the world with us and check out some more inspiration for the Eastern Palace bundle which you can get your hands on NOW, a month before the new catalog goes live!  Do yourself a favor and experience Eastern-inspired opulence—plus get a free gift and three of the new 2017-2019 In Colors included in one of your exclusive bundles!

You may have come from Mercedes' blog, she's just fabulous, but just keep clicking if you didn't and you'll fly around the world in no time.  Feel free to use google translate to catch all the details as well.

For this hop, I went super simple.  So many people are doing so much fabulous stuff with this set and it's really terrific...but honestly, it can feel overwhelming I think.  While you can do some really nifty stuff with these stamps and dies and all the coordinating accessories, you can also do some really great simple stuff too and I wanted to showcase that!  I also wanted to focus more on the circle images which I feel are getting overlooked as well.  I love a good circle!

For this card, I simply did a watercolor wash in the three new in colors and then embossed the biggest circle by inking in versamark first and then into my archival pad.  Then, I stamped the dots and little diamond in the respective in color.  I'm sort of in love with the way it turned out!  And I think I mentioned it last time but that card base there, the very vanilla one, it's THICK cardstock!  Woot, woot!!!!!!  You NEED to get you some of this stuff!  The pearls are really hard to see since they are so tiny, but there are pearls on each diamond too, in our smallest size.

For my next card, I tried to incorporate a different color scheme while keeping it super simple.  I know I get caught up in only sticking to the color combo in a particular suite.  I wanted to show that just by changing one color here, using Bermuda bay in place of tranquil tide, you can change the whole look of a card!  The stickers still coordinate and look great!  Sorry the top one is washed out in the photo!  I'm still trying to get the hang of photos in our new house.

And just for fun, I'll throw in one more card that uses the circles.  If I'm being honest, I had this done for the last hop and just totally forgot it :-)  Not like I didn't show you 3000 cards there, lol!  But, I'm glad I "saved it" because it works perfectly for again showing how simple this set can be.  I simply created a little background and then threw the fun die cut on there!  Pretty and easy....pretty easy!

Thanks so much for joining us!  I hope that I showed you how fabulous yet simple this set can be!  When you're ready, take a trip over to the Netherlands with Miriam and check out her pretty project!

Here's a handy little blog roll as well in case you want to jump around!
