Fall Favor

Hi stampers!  Happy Tuesday....that means it's time for another challenge over at Hand Stamped Sentiments.  And sorry for being MIA this weekend but I was down at my mom's on my first weekend off in what seems like forever helping her celebrate her birthday!  We were able to spend a lot of quality time together and get some things for her new house although it seems like there never is enough time for everything!  I was excited to go down there since I thought the leaves would be really pretty about now.  Sadly, I was disappointed as they are really pretty here but not so much at her place.  Funny how 80 some miles can make such a difference!  I was hoping to see some pretty colors like in this week's inspiration photo:

Isn't that a pretty tablescape?  I sure do wish I had seen all those colors in the woods at the farm but I pretty much just saw brown.  Oh well, maybe next year.  So, my project for this week is a cute little favor I can use for Thanksgiving dinner.  Aside from cutting the leaves, it went together pretty fast.

 Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Gently falling, falling leaves
Paper:  crumb cake, very vanilla, soft suede
Ink:  more mustard, cajun craze, soft suede
Accessories:  Circle punches, linen thread, more mustard dotted scalloped ribbon

I took my inspiration from the gold and rust tones in the picture.  I really loved them.  This favor came together quickly with the pillow box die and it fits three hershey miniatures perfectly....although no one will get the dark chocolate ones in their favor as they disappear in my office;-)  Now, click on over to HSS and see what the other DT members have to show you and play along!

Happy stamping!

Clean and simple challenge

Hi stampers!  It's Tuesday which means it's time for a new challenge over at Hand Stamped Sentiments.  The challenge this week is to make a clean and simple card.

I really like CAS cards but I find that making them is often a challenge for me....I tend to think that more is more on a card and just keep heaping things on:-)  BUT often times, less really can be more and CAS cards can be stunning!  I have to remember to keep that in mind while I'm stamping!  This is the reason I love challenges though, they push me out of my comfort zone and then it's easier for me to come up with something pretty, like this:

Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Falling leaves, woodgrain
Paper:  Lucky limeade, very vanilla, rich razzleberry
Ink:  Lucky limeade, rich razzleberry, pumpkin pie
Accessories:  circle punch, dotted scallop border punch

I used a color combo for this card that I used last week and really liked for fall.  Normally, I like softer combos for autumn but I really liked this one, it's fun.  I think it also works well since the card design is so simple the colors can be a bit more bold without being overwhelming!  I also used a card I made with this same set a few weeks back as inspiration too.  This one is just a bit more simple.  I didn't even need a sentiment since one of the leaves already says "grateful".

Now click on over and see what else the DT came up with and then play along and make a CAS card!

And just a touch of mustard

Hi stampers!  I have needed to post this card for the longest time!!!  It's my entry for The Color Lab's #53 challenge where we are supposed to use just a touch of more mustard along with these colors:

Ohhhh!  Isn't it pretty and doesn't it just scream fall????  Not to mention that the colors are in the ever so pretty spice cake DSP from the upcoming Holiday Mini!  So, obviously I had to do a fall themed card.  I made two and this is the one I decided to enter (I'll share the other one later of course):

Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Falling leaves
Paper:  Very vanilla, soft suede, pool party, pear pizazz, more mustard, spice cake DSP
Ink:  Pear pizazz, soft suede, more mustard
Accessories:  Modern label punch, basic pearls

I chose this one because it was more clean and simple looking and because it had more of a "touch" of mustard than my other one.  I like how the pool party stands out on this one too!  I just love that DSP and falling leaves is one of my all time favorite sets!

Now I'm hungry for a hot dog with all this mustard talk!  I love mustard on my hot dogs but keep the ketchup far away, blech!  Ketchup on fries and eggs is all good but keep it away from my frankfurter!!!  Hahah!  And now you know a random fact about me....probably means it's time for me to go:-)

Happy stamping!
