Mailable Monday

Hi stampers!  Happy Monday!  I have a simple card for you today with very little stamping!  I used my washi tape to make a little background and then placed the cut out panel over.  Viola, festive deer!

A simple stamped sentiment is all it needed. I mounted it on the Festive Farmhouse DSP.  When I use DSP as a card front, I always just adhere the panel to a Thick Whisper White Card base, I don't use the DSP itself for the card base.  While it does use the big shot, I think it's still a pretty simple card!

It was a bit hard to photograph due to the metallic strips of washi but it's simple and kind of stunning, I think!

Happy stamping!

Winter Rainbows

Hi stampers!  So, looking at other people's creations lately there have been rainbows everywhere it seems!  Or maybe it just seems that way since I made this card the other day?  Maybe everyone is over the holidays now and anxiously awaiting spring?  I am...except for the severe weather that accompanies it!  Now that we don't have a basement...and Ian sleeps on a different floor than us.  I get anxiety just thinking about it, lol!  Better look at my card again to take my mind off of it!

This one went together super fast with our adorable washi tapes!  I didn't fit quite all of them on my card front so I'll have to try another one ;-)  I trimmed off just a tad of my label just to add a little interest by changing the shape.  That's a great punch that's still available from the Holiday Catalog!  Hooray!

Mailable Monday - Love You

Hi stampers!  I have a quick and simple card for Valentine's day or any day! I combined with scenic sayings set with some washi tape and few metallic elements for a cute little card!
My color combo is flirty flamingo, sweet sugarplum, blushing bride, and basic black. The black washi tape is my favorite ever, and from the hello lovely PL accessory pack.

Let's Party....

....a virtual party, that is!  Hi stampers!  The holiday catalog is quickly approaching, it goes live on September 1st.  Let's not talk about how it's almost September already!  I really am going to miss summer but I'm getting really excited for fall and winter and all the holidays that come along!

Do you follow me on FaceBook?  You really should as it's easier to post there so I tend to post there more than I blog!  You can find me HERE.  I had an online "party" when the annual catalog came out and it was really fun!  I showed projects and tips and new products and everyone had a great time!  Starting on September 1st, I'll be hosting another one for the holiday catalog!  There may even be a few giveaways!  I hope to see you there!  You can find the party HERE.  And make sure to let me know if you need a copy of the catalog as well!

I have a very simple and quick project for you today using my absolute number one go to sketch and I know you've seen it before but you can NOT go wrong with this one.  It helps me to keep my projects super simple when I get new stuff because I get overwhelmed with too many new choices!  If I get washi tape you can pretty much bet I'm going to make a version of this card!

Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Stitched with cheer
Paper:  Crumb cake
Ink:  Crumb cake
Accessories:  Baker's twine trio, warmth and cheer washi tape

I really, really love the stitched with cheer stamp set and it's sentiments!  It's actually made to coordinate with the stitched project kit but it's perfect on it's own as well!  That gold twine in the trio set is so pretty too!  It's not too metallic but has a nice shine.  One thing I wished maybe I had done here was to use some white ink around the main panel but it's still good like this.

Don't forget to join my party and kick off the new catalog and the holidays!

Washi Wednesday

Hi stampers!  We've made it half way through the week, yay!  I got the pop of pink stuff long ago but have yet to use it so I pulled it out the other day.  It looks great with the stamps from the oh happy day kit.

Stamps:  Oh happy day kit
Paper:  Whisper white, basic black
Ink:  Basic black, versamark
Accessories:  Pop of pink washi tape, sequins metallic assortment, gold embossing powder

The friend sentiment it embossed with gold and I kind of love it!  I especially love the two fonts here as well.  Simple card but so cute, right?

Mailable Monday...on Friday

Hi stampers.  I'm struggling to create again this week which is why mums been the word around here.  Ian is going to bed later now, as in 7:30 (ha...he's been an old man as far as bedtime since he was born) and by the time we get him in bed I'm tired and can't seem to get down and make much.  I've got all this new stuff and just feel blah!  UGH!  I also have a swap due soon so I've struggled to design that and then of course I made one with 7 million pieces and steps, lol!  I've got to get down and finish them tonight.  I meant to last night but my parents are visiting and we went to Six Flags with Ian yesterday.  It was so much fun but I was exhausted!  We got a season pass though so I guess I better get used to it :-)

Anyway, I did manage this card over the weekend.  I love the labeler alphabet set!  It's got over one HUNDRED tiny stamps!  My dad had a little hand held labeler when I was little and this so reminds me of that.  There are so many ideas I have for it!

Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Labeler alphabet
Paper:  Whisper white, basic black, peekaboo peach
Ink:  Basic black
Accessories:  Playful palette washi tape

My sentiment isn't lined up just perfectly but that's ok...that's the beauty of a hand made card, right?  :-)

I have a few tips for this set.

  • One:  As with any photopolymer set, they work best with a pad underneath.  I use a peircing mat I got just for this purpose and keep it handy when stamping.  You can also use a magazine or our catalog in a pinch!
  • Two:  Even if you have something pretty simple to spell out, try writing it down and then stamp it backwards starting on the right so that you don't run out of room.  Even though "hi there" is pretty simple, I wouldn't put it past me to spell it wrong without a visual to double check myself ;-)

Don't mind my E...I didn't get a great image with it but went with it anyway.  An easy fix for this would have been to just stamp the sentiment on another scrap and cut it out but I couldn't be bothered to do that this time, ha!

I'll try to get some stamping done soon and have more to share!

Happy stamping!

Love and Affection for Washi Tape

Hi stampers!  Have you placed your order from the new catalog yet?  My goodies will be here tomorrow!  For today, I have a card I made with pre order items.  It's simple and quick and one of my favorite sketches.  You've seen it before from me and will likely see it again and I'm not sorry.  It's just a great sketch and something I go to when I'm feeling less than creative.  Sometimes making a simple card will get the creative mojo flowing and it's one reason I love washi tape!

Washi tape is an inexpensive embellishment and a little goes a long way!  The fact that SU makes it in part of a suite makes it super easy to pair with other items as well!  Did you know you can carefully pull it up if you don't adhere it straight?  It's pretty forgiving!  Have you tried washi tape?  Do you need to get yourself some on your first order?  Probably ;-)  Look what you can do.....

Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps: Love and affection
Paper: Crumb cake
Ink:  Night of navy
Accessories:  Affectionately yours washi tape, decorative label punch, linen thread

So simple but so cute!  Right?  It's hard to see in the photo but the tape with the dots is actually metallic copper and gives just a bit of glitz!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Happy stamping!

Mailable Monday - Washi Tape

Hi stampers!  Quick post and quick card today!  I featured this card on my FB page in a live post a few weeks ago.  You really should follow me over there.  I try to post often and you may find things that you don't see here ;-)  I'm having a virtual workshop this week as well and there's still time to join in the fun if you want!  RSVP on my FB page, send me a message, or email me!

Here's the card which is super simple, super cute, and uses some fun new stuff!

I really like the combo of sugarplum and black!  That's some of the new washi tape and the CUTE sentiment is from the new oh happy day kit and I love it!  Don't forget you don't have to use the stamp sets in the kits with just the kit!

And I hope to see you at my workshop!

Hey There Friends!

Hi stampers!  It's been a while, I know!  I accidentally had to peeve out of the last Fab Friday challenge.  I kind of forgot about it.  I mean, I went to stamp two nights…and actually made a few things I liked…which made me get all excited to keep stamping although it made me forget what I went to stamp in the first place…the Fab Friday challenge, lol!!!  And then I was at my mom's last week taking Ian and I's first solo trip there so I didn't have any of my stamp stuff.  But I'm happy that I made some things I liked.  I'm hopeful the trend will continue now that I'm back home.

Here's one of the simple cards that got me going.  I had the washi tape down on paper for a while just sitting on my desk.  Seems I'm making parts of cards here and there these days and waiting for them to inspire me :-)  I also pulled out my very favorite Paper Pumpkin stamp for the sentiment as I couldn't find anything I was liking.  I LOVE this stamp and will use it for-ev-er!!!!  Sorry if you get sick of it :-)

This is a take on one of my all time favorite layouts.  I'm just going to try to rely on things I've found to be tried and true while I work through my feelings of less than creative-ness :-)  I think this could also make a cute baby card.

Tis the season…almost

Hi stampers!  I generally don't like Christmas before Thanksgiving but I make an exception for cards….and I made an exception for our tree since I don't have as much time to put it up now :-)  And we have a lot of things going on for the holidays so I wanted to be able to enjoy it.  It was worth putting it up because Ian "talked" the entire time we did it :-)  Anyway, I managed to get some cards made of late and of course they are Christmas cards.  The theme lately has been clean in and simple as well!

Here is a quick, easy and simple card I made based off some cards I've made in the past that were inspired by my friend Marla.  I'm so happy this set it back in the holiday catalog!  Paired with washi tape it makes a super cute yet quick card!

I'm hoping to post most days this week, we'll see what happens :-)  And speaking of the season…SU has started your Black Friday shopping early!  Sale prices are only while supplies last so make sure to check out my store over there to the right!

The Golden Age

Hi stampers!  So I have a super simple card for you today and sadly the photo does NOT do it justice!  I tried and tried to make it look as good as it does in person but it wasn't working!  But gold is IN now and I'm kind of surprised I've embraced it in both stamping and fashion!  A few years ago you would not have caught me in gold and now it's almost all I wear :-)  Sadly, one day I'll probably hate it all again (lol) but I hope that takes a while...I may have quite an earring collection ;-)  And SU has a ton of fun gold toned products!!!!

Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Hip notes
Paper:  Whisper white, brushed gold
Ink:  Encore gold
Accessories:  Decorative label punch, linen thread, watercolor wonder washi tape

I used one of my favorite sketches and the watercolor wonder washi tape which is very pretty in person!  I also used the brushed gold cardstock which has been around for ages and I tend to pass over it but it's GOR-JUS!!!!   Looking back I probably should have cut the main panel down a bit more to show more of the gold!  And I was going to emboss the sentiment which would look great as well but...well...I'm lazy and instead of pulling all the supplies out for that I remembered the gold ink we have in the mini!  It also looks much better in person!

Have you embraced the gold trend?  If not, give it a try!  It's a perfect time to stock up on the gold stuff too with SAB!

Wishy Washi Wednesday

Hi stampers!  Ok, I have GOT to get my act together and not only start stamping but blogging too!  I guess I'm not too good at time management when I'm not crazy busy and when I know I have "time" to put things off until later, lol!  Not that I ever actually DO those things....dah!!!!!!

Anyway, I'm going to TRY to get my you know what together this week and stamp and blog!  Of course about the time I think I have a plan a wrench gets thrown in, like today!  I had kind of forgotten my mom was going to be in town while my step-dad had some things to do and she needed to borrow my car.  Which that's all fine and dandy and so is the fact that she bought me an impromptu Panera lunch but it means I haven't gotten much done by the time Ronnie met up with us and ate his lunch and then they came back to play with my little doggie!  It was very nice especially on a dark and dreary day and especially since we've been cutting back and I don't even remember the last time I had Panera which if you know me at all is a big deal, lol!  Anyway, you see what I mean....it's always something, right? :-)  But I gotta get it together!!!!!  Anyone else feel that way especially with the holidays coming? :-)

So anyway here's a quick little card I made a while back.  This would be super easy to mass produce for your holiday cards, it's cheap supply wise and it's super mailable!

Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Many merry messages
Paper:  Whisper white, chocolate chip, real red, old olive
Ink:  Real red
Accessories:  Merry minis punch pack, season of style washi tape

See how simple but cute it is!?!?  There are so many things to do with washi tape!

Ok, maybe I can get some stamping and blogging done during the CMA's tonight.  I'm in a bit of a depression about Nashville (which ranks near the very top of my favorite TV show list) not being on tonight!  I've said it before, I just love that show!  Jon just laughed at me last week as I was yelling at the TV, lol!  I love me some TV!!!!!  But hopefully stamping can get me through my withdrawal tonight!

Thank You Thursday

Hi stampers!  Well it may not be the weekend YET but I have some exciting news to get you through your Thursday!  Every Thursday in October Stampin' Up will be offering an item for a ONE day sale to say thank you for making their blog a success.  Have you checked it out?  It's pretty cool!  They post fun pins from Pinterest (they made my year by pinning a card of yours truly!) and feature lots of neat projects!  You can find the blog HERE.  Just make sure to mark me as your demonstrator if you order!  The post about the washi tape has a cute Halloween treat!

And it just so happens I have a little project featuring washi tape to share today!  These were super easy to put together if you're short on time and need a card real quick like I did!  Seriously, these took minutes!  And you don't even need the little "extras" I stamped on them with the splatters and diamond design!

Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  A dozen thoughts, oh hello, my paper pumpkin welcome kit
Paper:  Whisper white, smokey slate, daffodil delight
Ink:  Smokey slate, melon mambo
Accessories:  Gingham garden and epic day this & that washi tape

These are great cards since they are flat and mailable and I wanted to show a "manly" version and a girly version.  The a dozen thoughts stamp set is a great one as it has sentiments for about any occasion!    If you're new to stamping or don't have a large budget this set and some washi tape is a GREAT way to get started as you can do a million things with them!

Now, you can get these two washi tapes plus the witches brew set for only $3.71 each for TODAY only  and while supplies last!  That's over a dollar off!  If you'd like to order as part of my workshop use the hostess code AVXFHNK3 when ordering!  Your name will go in the hat and you could win a FREE 2013-2015 in color ink pad of your choice!

Washi Wednesday

Hi stampers!  Happy Wednesday!  How can the week be half over yet?  And how did I ever have time for my job?  LOL!  Seriously, I was worried about the days dragging after quitting my job (and I'm sure that some of them will) but the past few days have been busy busy!  Of course it helps that Monday I had to get the grocery shopping done and kind of clean up around here and get things in order after the wedding and being out of town and then yesterday was all sorts of crazy with my mom being in town on a whim (if you call getting a filling that fell out at my friends wedding a whim, lol) and Jon having a flat tire in the morning!  Geesh!  So by the time I ran around with my mom which was totally nice to be able to do that on the fly and got Jon's tire fixed I ran out of time and energy to stamp :-)

Geesh!  Good thing I'm not working now...Jon said the same thing last night, hahaha!  I will be glad when this week is over though because for my first two evenings of being a "housewife" I've had to eat dinner alone! :(  There is a big farm show here this week so Jon's been working a TON!!!  We've kind of traded places, haha!

Anyway let's have some fun with washi tape today!!  I wasn't as super excited about the tape as some people I know when SU came out with it but I have to say it's pretty fun stuff!  Did you know that it's repositionable?????  To me, that's pretty cool since I can't seem to get things to line up straight all the time.  Don't like what you did?  You can carefully unstick it and try again!  You can also make super simple but super cute cards like these two which were inspired by my friend and convention roomie, Marla!

I did this one first for Christmas (and I totally love it):
Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Wishing you
Paper:  Whisper white, crumb cake, real red
Ink:  Real red, old olive
Accessories:  Decorative label and extra-large oval punches, linen thread, season of style wash tape

I love the layering of those two punches.  I did clip off the top and bottom little points otherwise they stick out a bit funky.  And it's so cute you don't notice I used real red instead of cherry cobbler which is the actual color of the washi tape :-)

And then I thought a Halloween one would be cute too!
Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Halloween hello
Paper:  Very vanilla, basic gray, pumpkin pie
Ink:  Basic gray
Accessories:  Decorative label and extra-large oval punches, linen thread, brights candy dots, witches brew washi tape

This one looked a little naked so I added the candy dots!  Done!

These cards would look great with any combination of punches used that would fit your sentiment!  To order some of this fabulous washi tape just click the shop 24/7 button over to the right!!!!!  And you too can have a Washi Wednesday!

Happy stamping!

Mailable Monday - Washi Style

Hi stampers!  Super quick post today to go with a super fast card!

I used the new washi tape and clear alphabet set to make a quick birthday card.  I got the design idea from a card I saw on Pinterest that used some other products...and of course, I thought "I can do that with SU"!

Stamps:  Designer typeset
Paper:  Confetti white, daffodil delight
Ink:  Basic gray
Accessories:  Washi tape, calypso coral baker's twine

I hand cut the flame and easy peasy it was done!

I gotta skee-daddle!

Happy stamping!
