Fab Friday 118

Edited:  For some reason my post was not live and wasn't linking from the Fab Friday site or showing on my blog.  I'm so sorry if you came looking for it.  Technology hates me sometimes!

Hi stampers!  Happy Friday!  Summer is flying by!  I feel like I missed it with my broken foot but hopefully it's getting better.  My x-ray didn't look great but it's feeling ok-ish (lol) so here's to hoping!    And Ian turns THREE tomorrow!  He's also starting preschool two days a week at the end of the month and I'm equal parts excited, nervous, and sad about it :-)  Anyway, let's keep summer going with a bright and summery color challenge over at Fab Friday!

I made a pretty simple card because I was busy getting ready for my momma to come visit for Ian's birthday!  I grabbed the sunshine saying stamp set and sunshine wishes framelits because I've seriously neglected them!  I thought they would work great with these colors and they did not disappoint!

I tried mounting my melon mambo panel behind the stitched square and it didn't look right.  I put it on the diagonal and bingo!  I cut a few of the mini dimensionals to adhere my die cut.  I love how small they are but they aren't THAT small :-)  And because I know people will ask, (lol) the little black accents are from the oh so eclectic stamp set.

I hope you like it and I hope you'll play along with us!  We'd love to have you!

Fab Friday 117

Hi stampers!  Happy Friday!  After a couple days alone with Ian this week, I'm ready for the weekend!  I mean I'm always exhausted but this broken toe is adding a whole new level.  It was doing really well or so I thought until last week after my follow up appointment and some this week.  Four weeks feels like 40...but I'd think it would be better, especially after feeling good recently.  I guess I'll insist on another x-ray if it's not getting better by next week.

Anyway, hooray for Friday, specifically when Jon gets home from work :-)  At least it's time for a new Fab Friday challenge!  We have a sketch for you this time.

I used celebration thinlits and the sunshine sayings stamp set and a whole bunch of embellishments!  I browse a lot on Instagram and Pinterest and have been seeing a lot of inspiration there in the form of cakes so I wanted to do a sort of ombre layer cake here. It didn't all turn out exactly as I pictured but it's ok.  I don't care for the way my ribbon ended up but what can you do after you stick it all down? ;-)

I added a "cascade" of flowers with the in color glitter acrylic shapes...and true confession time.  I sort of forgot about these and forgot that I had them!  WHAT is wrong with me, they are so fun!  I also added a variety of sequins from both packs that we have.  Some sliver metallic thread and a bitty bow finish off my cake.  I WISH I could decorate cakes this well in real life but I better stick to paper!

I embossed my sentiment with white and if you visit here often, you've seen that a lot lately.  I'm kind of stuck on it and I'm ok with that ;-)  I added a gold cake stand as well.  I like mixing my metallics!

Edited to add:  I've had some questions on how I adhered everything, I really should get better at the details :-)  I used glue dots for the flowers and for the largest sequins.  I used the fine tip glue pen for the two smaller sequins.

I hope you liked my cake and I hope you'll check out the Fab Friday site and play along with us!

Fab Friday 91

Hi stampers and happy Friday!  This week sure was quick with the holiday!  It's time for a new challenge at Fab Friday and this week is a sketch.

The challenge graphics may look a little different for a while as my hard drive crashed.  I was stupid and didn't have thing backed up so I need to find some new fonts and see if I can get my hands on some of the downloads I once had.  My watermarks may look a bit different as I try to figure out one I like as well.

At least I have all of my cards and projects documented on my blog!  I watercolored the label shape and I embossed the "hello".

Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Sunshine sayings, labeler alphabet
Paper:  Whisper white, basic black, pool party, dapper denim, flirty flamingo, watercolor paper
Ink:  Basic black, pool party, dapper denim, versamark
Accessories:  White perfect accents, white EP, lots of labels framelits, sunshine wishes framelits, sparkle embossing folder

Make sure to check out all of the samples from the design team and we'd love to have you play along!

Happy stamping!
