Cuckoo For You

Hi stampers!  Happy Tuesday!  Today I'm sharing a card with a bundle in the new catalog that gave me ALL THE FEELS when I laid eyes on it.  It's the Cuckoo for You Bundle and it's super cute, fun, and even interactive.  I didn't use the moveable pieces this time but that'll be coming.  SU has a great instructional video on their YouTube channel if you want to see it in action and see that it's not complicated at all!

Anyway, when I saw this in the catalog it immediately reminded me that my Grandma Bingamon had a little cuckoo clock on the wall and I used to LOVE helping her wind it up.  I'd stand on the arm of the love seat and use the little key and then get the little lady on the swing going (it was one of those that had the lady on the swing, google it if you don't know what I'm talking about).  Anyway, I had kind of forgotten about that and I wish I knew were the clock was!  It was one of my favorite things about going to her house!

I didn't do a true cuckoo clock but I was in a time crunch this weekend so I just did one little pinecone instead of two plus the pendulum.  That's the great thing about stamping, creative liberties! ;-)

I did emboss my clock in white and color it in for a more whitewashed effect.  The clocks are usually pretty brightly colored but again, creative liberty ;-)

I used our Watercolor Pencils to color and then stamped a few accents with Early Espresso when it was thoroughly dry.  I don't love the way it turned out but I invested too much time in it to not use it :-)  The next one will be a bit brighter!

Happy stamping!

Cockadoodledoo

Hi stampers! Happy Wednesday!  I guess I have ample time to blog today as my little buddy has a fever and feels puny.  Hopefully we won't add anymore symptoms into the mix.

February AND Sale A Bration are flying by so I figured I'd better get this stamp set inky before it was too late!  My mom grew up on a farm and now lives there although she doesn't have any animals now.  But her very favorite is chickens so I grabbed this one with her in mind!  It was perfect that it had a missing you sentiment because I'm pretty much always missing my momma!  I hope we can live closer to her one day!  They are actually coming to visit today IF the roads are ok.  They got some bad weather overnight.  I'm hoping to surprise Ian so I really hope he feels better this evening!

Anyway, I colored him in with my Blends and I thought that the Wood Textures DSP was a perfect match!    Some copper and lace accents were the finishing touches!

Happy stamping!

Succulents...Again

Hi stampers!  So I have yet another card with the succulents.  Sorry if you're tired of them but I just love them!  This one's pretty simple but may be my favorite yet!  I also love the globe set and the sentiments in that set.  One of them worked perfectly for my little scene here.

Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Live love grow, the places you'll go
Paper:  Whisper white, basic black, crumb cake, always artichoke
Ink:  Basic black, perfect plum, always artichoke, mint macaron

Perfect plum and always artichoke makes one check of a succulent, doesn't it?  I did the rock and roll technique although I think a sponge dauber may work better.

I'm still kind of mourning the loss of my hard drive (I KNOW I should have had it backed up on time machine....but anyway) and I need to download some new fonts and different things to get up and running like before.

Happy stamping!

Mailable Monday

Hi stampers!  I wanted to have this post all ready to auto-post but the hard drive on my Mac decided to up and die yesterday so I had to spend a good portion of my day driving to and from the Apple store and I spent most of the rest of the time being annoyed that I had to do that (on our 6th anniversary no less), ha!

I did get some good stamping time in on Saturday though, so at least there's that!  I made a number of cards with the succulents so better get used to seeing those ;-)

This one is super cute, super easy, and super easy to mail!

Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps: Live love grow
Paper:  Whisper white, mint macaron, watercolor
Ink:  Basic black, crumb cake, old olive, always artichoke, mint macaron
Accessories:  Linen thread

I did a quick water color wash on the background although it doesn't show up well in the photo (I'm on my hubby's computer and not quite sure how to use his editing software).  I'm also having a hard time getting that taller stamp to stamp well, I may have to get it replaced so please don't look too hard at that one ;-)

Hopefully I'll be able to go get my computer soon and be back to normal!

Happy stamping!

Succulent Obsessed!

Hi stampers!  I haven't been posting much on the weekends (or at all the past few weeks...we've been busy) but I just couldn't wait to share this card.  I LOVE the live, love, grow set and I'm kind of obsessed with succulents.  While I haven't gotten any to grow yet (I'm not sure where to put them where little hands couldn't make a mess of them) I've been looking at them on Instagram.  They come in so many varieties and PRETTY color combinations!

This set came the other day and I sat down pretty quick just to play around with colors.  I stayed pretty basic with greens but I can't wait to try other more colorful combos.  Seriously, search for images of succulents!  Some are so pretty they don't even look real!

This card is super simple and I couldn't love it more!  And the set makes it super simple since it's clear and you can see right through it!
Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Live, love, grow
Paper:  Whisper white, basic black
Ink:  Basic black, always artichoke, garden green, mint macaron

So far, my favorite combo is mint macaron outlined in always artichoke which is the left most plant here.  The middle plant is always artichoke but the more solid image was stamped off once.  I can't remember exactly what I did for the right plant but I THINK it's garden green stamped off and then the outline is cucumber.

Are you into the succulent craze?  Did you get this set?  Is it on your list?

Happy stamping!

Resistance is Futile

Hi stampers!  So I tried, I tried really hard to resist this stamp set and I just couldn't!  I mean, I don't know why anyone would really want to, it's so cute, but I was TRYING to keep my list short...hahahaha!  Any who, somehow it made it onto my order and I'm not sorry!  Globes are pretty trendy right now, I just picked one up at Target to go on my entryway table.  And I keep seeing CUTE hand embellished ones on Etsy!

So, it was one of the first sets I just had to use when my order came.  I made a pretty simple card but I like the small details.  I embossed the stand in the copper powder.  That stuff is so pretty!  And I used my aqua painter to spread the ink from the lines on the globe just a little.  Remember, a little goes a long way here.

Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Places you'll go
Paper:  Whisper white, basic black, 2016-2018 in color DSP stack
Ink:  Versamark, dapper denim, emerald envy
Accessories:  Affectionately yours washi tape, copper embossing powder

I also really love that dapper denim DSP, this diagonal print especially!
