Hi stampers! So while I'm super excited about Baby Backes's arrival I'm also pretty sad since his due date was so close to convention I'm grounded from travel. And I totally want to go as it would be a great way to pass the last week or so when I'm just waiting, waiting, waiting....don't think I didn't seriously consider it :-) BUT I'm barely comfortable in the car driving 5 minutes to the docs office or grocery store so a 3-4 hour plane ride is probably out of the question, lol! But you can bet I'm making plans (and so is Grandma) for convention next year! ;-) The worst thing might be that since I'm pregnant I'm pretty much hungry 24/7 (which isn't all that odd for me at any time lol) and SLC has some AMAZING food that I'm missing lol! As well as all the fun, the excitement, and most of all my friends! I'll miss you all and I'll be glued to the computer and social media trying to keep up with the happenings.
Anyway, if I couldn't be there the next best thing would be blog hopping with the Control Freaks, right? You should have just come from Melissa Davies blog. Weren't her projects awesome? If you got here by chance, don't worry as we make a big loop! Just keep clicking!
While I can't be there to swap with them I can see what they are swapping anyway! I'll just pretend I'm swapping with them :-) And it means I can do anything for my cards, I get a "free for all" :-) So, I pretty much played around and came up with these beauties! I'm still struggling to be inspired but this was fun and even though it takes me a lot longer to come up with an idea and a card I like, it's still fun! For some reason I don't think they are showing up well so please click on the pictures to enlarge them for a closer look!
First up, I really love the hello love hostess set (and I don't normally go for those...can't say that this year) and the combination of lost lagoon and hello honey! Isn't that ribbon just yummy????
Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps: Hello love
Paper: Whisper white, hello honey, lost lagoon
Ink: Hello honey, lost lagoon
Accessories: Lost lagoon stitched satin ribbon, linen thread, woodgrain embossing folder, dotted scalloped punch
Next up, I've also been obsessed with the color combo of calypso coral, blushing bride, and hello honey. Thank you color coach! Add in some crumb cake and kraft and wow! The little banner die cut is the kraft cardstock stamped in crumb cake ink. Now, I kind of wish I'd embossed it with clear, that would have looked neat!
Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps: Choose happiness
Paper: Very vanilla, crumb cake, kraft card stock
Ink: Blushing bride, calypso coral, hello honey
Accessories: Linen thread, gold sequin trim, hello honey stitched satin ribbon, banner framelits
And finally after the first two cards a bit vintage this one is more clean and modern. I actually stamped this one during one of the convention live feeds so it's sort of like I was there and it was cool to actually stamp during a stamping presentation!
Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps: Something to say
Paper: Whisper white, sahara sand, blackberry bliss, moonlight DSP stack
Ink: Blackberry bliss
Accessories: Artisan label punch, itty bitty accents punch pack
And there you have it. I hope that any of my freaky friends would have loved to gotten one of these as a swap. And I hope they know I sure did miss them! I'm really hoping I can see them next year! And I'm really hoping Baby B stays put until after the 25th as they just announced the convention dates. If not, he may have to get used to having his birthday in SLC :-)
Now, you can click here or on the graphic to see Debbie Henderson's amazing projects and keep hopping along!
Thanks for visiting! Happy stamping!

HSS 186
Hi stampers and happy Tuesday! It's time for a new challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments! And if you're here looking for the May Control Freaks Blog Hop keep scrolling down (although we officially hop on the 20th we go live the night of the 19th) and you'll find it!
This week is a fun sketch challenge!
And I used some more of the kaleidoscope DSP since I didn't show it enough love during the Occasions Mini period! However, I won't miss figuring out how to SPELL kaleidoscope, ha! I can't believe it's almost over at the end of the month....let alone that means there's only TWO months until my little stamper is here! Gah!!!! I promise I'll get around to posting some bump updates soon!
Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps: Perfect pennants, something to say (new 2014-2015 catalog)
Paper: Whisper white, basic black, kaleidoscope DSP
Ink: Bermuda bay, strawberry slush, crushed curry
Accessories: Ovals framelits, itty bitty accents punch pack
Ack, I kind of like it! My banners didn't turn out just like the sketch but when do they really? I'm kind of a not measure at all and cut once kind of stamper, lol! Oh well, it tends to work out! And you'll notice the little stars! They are from a new cute punch pack. I totally got suckered into it even though I have the old itty bitty punch pack. The something to say set has a cute little star, heart, and flower that match it so I HAD to have it, right? Also, you'll see perfect pennants in the new catalog carrying forward from the mini, yay!
Ok, make sure to check out all the other design team samples and play along with us!

Freaky Time
Hi stampers! It's time for the monthly Control Freaks blog hop!
I haven't participated in a while with out move and stuff so I was excited to be able to this month and it was with fun new goodies!!!!! The theme for this month is the new catalog pre-order!!!!!
We make an endless loop so if you keep clicking along you'll see ALL the freaky fabulousness! You may have just come from Heidi's blog, weren't her projects awesome? We just all love the new catalog and the stuff in it!
The first project uses the stamp set we got at the catalog party SU threw for us at various movie theaters! I have to say I may not have gotten this one if left to my own devices (maybe) but I really like it! And I realized I hadn't really introduced you to the five new in colors! So here they all are together with the Work Of Art stamp set! Blackberry bliss is my fave and closely followed by lost lagoon! They work great together and in other combos! The stamp set makes great super simple cards!
Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps: Work of art
Paper: Whisper white, blackberry bliss
Ink: Blackberry bliss, lost lagoon, mossy meadow, hello honey, tangelo twist
Next up is a card I used a recent sketch challenge for but of course didn't get around to posting it in time...story of my life! BUT I really love the cute little paper stack this one uses called moonlight! I was happy to see a few of the small stacks in the new catalog. And anything that has the blackberry color in it is ok with me :-) Just look at all those fun patterns! I also didn't get a lot of stamps in my pre-order like I usually do (I'm trying to be more discerning and money conscious) but I LOVE the little greeting set called something to say. It has fun fonts which I love and of course cute sayings that can be mixed and matched or used together!
Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps: Something to say
Paper: Whisper white, sahara sand, moonlight DSP stack
Ink: Blackberry bliss
Accessories: Circle punch, honeycomb EF
And finally how could I NOT get the new baby bundle???? :-) It was one of the prizes at the catalog event and I was so hoping I would win it and could stand up and wave my baby belly around lol! But alas I didn't. But like I said, I did get it and the matching framelits (they are at a discount together) and the cute baby DSP which can be used for either a boy or a girl!!!! The greeting is another one from something to say and just goes to show how well you can mix and match our sets to suit your needs! You'll also notice the new thicker baker's twine in last year's set of in colors! Fun stuff!
And here's another sketch challenge that I may have time to enter still but will I? Probably not, lol! But this card is earmarked for a former co-worker of mine back home who just had an adorable little baby boy and I'm a bad friend and still haven't sent a card!
Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps: Something for baby, something to say
Paper: Whisper white, coastal cabana, lullaby DSP
Ink: Coastal cabana, pistachio pudding, baked brown sugar, crisp cantaloupe, hello honey (markers)
Accessories: Coastal cabana baker's twine, baby's first framelits
So, there you have it! A nice little sneak peek of just a small portion of the fabulousness that's in the new catalog coming June 2!
Make sure you keep going and hop on over to Debbie's blog to see even more of it. I know she's got some adorable projects for you!
Thanks for joining us this month and make sure to come back on the 20th of every month for more freaky fun!!!!

Fab Friday 41
Hi stampers and happy Friday! I've had a bad baby brain week and am exhausted as I'm anemic as well as uncomfortable with a foot or toe or something jammed in my back/ribs so this post will be quick!
It's time for a new challenge over at Fab Friday which I JUST managed to eek out today after my pre-order came and before we ventured out into rush hour traffic to meet friends and their 8-week old little girl for dinner!
Here's the sketch:
And here's the card:
Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps: Something to say
Paper: Whisper white, blackberry bliss (so yummy), sahara sand, moonlight DSP stack
Ink: Blackberry bliss, hello honey
Accessories: Speech bubble framelits, itty bitty accents punch pack
Loving the new stuff but no time to really sit down with it yet! This may be the quickest card I've ever made. I literally had 20 minutes before I had to leave when my stuff came and I realized it was Thursday and Fab Friday was live at midnight. And the fact that I needed a card for baby girl K! My stamp room is a mess and I was literally ripping packages open and throwing stuff around! The stamp set is adorable and kind of the "new" and fresh petite pairs! Hope you like the small peek of a few new colors and items. Hope to have more soon if me and this little one can get our acts together and off the couch!!!!
Make sure to check out all the DT samples and play along.
