Finally Friday!

Hi stampers!  This has been the slowest week ever since I'm so looking forward to closing on our house!  It stinks that we can't move in until Monday but at least we can go there and just sit there lol! Well, Jon can over the weekend.  I'm taking off for a 7+ hour drive to pick my mom up and bring her back on Sunday for the movers on Monday.  She is refusing to drive in or around St. Louis which is on the way OR fly by herself for the first time lol!  She thinks she can't do either but I know she could...but she's stubborn ;-)  My step dad is on a fishing trip so he can't come...we always have SUCH good timing, ha!  Oh well, no stamping time this weekend and no OnStage for me, just a lot of time in the car!

I've got a super simple card to share because that's all I've been able to muster lol!

I think it's pretty cute though!

Speaking of cute, make sure you check out the ADT blog hop from yesterday if you missed it!  It's a sneak peek of a bundle from the new catalog and I LOVE it!  It also has three of the five new in colors!   I saw a little talk of people being PO'd there were no longer 5 colors, LOL!  Fear not, they are only teasing us with three of the five!!!!!

Happy stamping!

Fab Friday 108

Hi stampers!  I never knew selling a house in a much more urban area would be so stressful!  We had a few showings a week back home and here we have multiple ones a day!  I can't figure out when to stamp so there isn't a giant mess or I'm kicked out of my house in the middle or when do do my hang dry laundry lol!!!!

I did manage to whip up a quick card for this week's Fab Friday challenge at least!

I'm sort of in love with these colors and have MANY ideas for them even though I'm short on time!  Of course, succulents were the first thing that came to mind.  I also really like the addition of black with the softer colors.

This post will be short as I'm currently writing it at Panera while we show our house again...at dinner time.  I'm not liking all the money and calories we are wasting by having to eat out.  And we're trying to entertain Ian until we can go home lol!  The showings this morning already cost me lunch at Chick Fil A and a new Thomas train at the bookstore lol!  And turns out it was all for not...the people who were supposed to have an appointment from 4:45-6 rang our bell at 7:15!!!!!  No call or no notice.  We are not happy.  Almost every showing has been a now show, super late, or just super difficult to schedule.  Send help!

Make sure to come play with us at Fab Friday!!!  We've had so many participants, it's awesome!

Happy stamping!

Moving Succs!

Hi stampers!  Is it only Wednesday?  :-)  They finally got our house on the market.  Have I mentioned I hate moving?  I've been trying to get some artisan stuff done and turned in so I haven't stamped at much as I'd like, I mean for fun anyway :-)  But now, I didn't get much done yesterday with the cleaning people here and someone wanted to see the house at dinner time with like 2 hours notice.  I'd already started dinner so I had to clean that up and then cut out.  So no stamping.  And now people keep wanting to see it at Ian's nap time.  The kid loves and NEEDS naps and takes a solid three hour nap in the afternoon and will NOT sleep anywhere but his crib really.   I hate to say no to showing but I hate him being crabby and miserable too!  I gave people an alternate time and then never heard back.  Sigh...it's so stressful and I'm finding it difficult to stamp.  We are officially leaving next Saturday though so hopefully I won't have to worry about it long.  Then I'll be worried about trying to figure out how to stamp in an apartment for a few weeks, ha!

Anyway, I feel like it should be Thursday or Friday by now already!  Having another raging sinus infection/headache isn't helping matters either.  I thought I was over it but it seems to have returned.  I guess I may have to go to the doctor.  Something else I try to avoid!

I guess these cards are pretty fitting for my mood right now :-)  I love the little puns you can make with the succulent set and our labeler alphabet.  I hope these don't offend any of my readers but I thought they were clever.   And sometimes you just need "that" kind of card.  Sometimes there isn't much else to say except something sucks.  Like moving ;-)  We really try not to say the S word with Ian repeating everything but like I said, occasionally there isn't a suitable alternative, at least in adult conversation!

I like that these cards are kind of elegant with the succulents but then a little snarky with the font and sentiment.  I pulled my colors from the succulent DSP.  The outline of each succulent is stamped full strength and each solid part is stamped off once.

Seriously, you just need this card right here sometimes!

And then there a lot of people I could send this to! I have some of the best friends, ever!

Anyway, that's the post for today.  I'll try to post when I can, wish us luck...on everything, ha!

Happy stamping!

Flashback Friday

Hi stampers!  Ok, so I totally dropped the ball on sharing Ian's little Valentine treats for school.  Probably because I was making them up to the last minute lol!  Then I was going to shoot a video for them but I messed it up of course.  So, no video but I took a few more photos so hopefully they will suffice.

I am pretty proud of actually coming up with my own little idea for these...you guys know I don't do many 3D items and that I'm usually too lazy to come up with templates on my own, lol! ;-)  Ian loves these Annie's fruit snacks and I love the little bunny from the basket bunch set, so that's how I came up with my idea.  If he'd needed more than 10 of these I would have lost my mind though, lol!

My bunny is embossed and then colored in on watercolor paper.  I used a little bit of blushing bride on his cheeks too, to make them rosy.  And you may notice that some of my sentiments in the first photo aren't as crisp...that's because I totally cheated and photocopied them on our cardstock.  I mean, did 10 two year olds care?  No, they probably just ripped them open immediately lol!  And while I love that labeler set, stamping all of them just wasn't happening!  So that's a little hack if you don't really care if they are "perfect".  Your copier/printer is your friend!

They are basically a matchbook and I just measured one of the packages to get my dimensions.  If you use a different type of fruit snacks, you'll have to measure to adjust.  And I feel I should mention that somehow, after I made my prototype, I cut and scored ALL TEN WRONG and had to start over.  UGH!   I used our mini stapler because I have it (and I'm super sad it's gone) but you could easily use any desk stapler.

I used some WW here so you can see my measurements.

To make my closure flap, I used one of the smaller circles in the layering framelits.  You want to place it about 2/3 of the way above the score line and then only partially run it through the big shot.  You'll probably have to play around with it to get it right.  I found that once mine just disappeared, I was good and I could back it out.

You don't want to cut to or past that score line, but just above it (you can however make it work if you mess it up...just staple it like normal and it will work but just not look as cute...you know I did this at least once).  It should end up looking like this.  And if you didn't cut as much as you need to, you can line it back up and try again, the die should stick down into the groove that you cut if you just gently run it over the area.

I hope that all made sense!  And sorry it's taken me so long to share these!  They would also make really cute Easter treats though!

Happy stamping!
