Fab Friday 139

Hi stampers!  Happy Friday!  What a weird week over here!  Anyway it's time for another Fab Friday challenge.   We have a sketch this time!

Jon took me on a surprise date so I'm getting a late start posting this so I'll keep it short!  It's way past my bedtime :-)  I kind of went with Christmas in June theme!

I offset a couple of the elements just a bit and I totally meant to stamp or emboss the background and before I knew it, I'd glued my doily down, lol!  I'm loving Shaded Spruce, it's so pretty!  And these colors are perfect for Christmas Pines.  Don't forget all the wonderful sets that have been around for a while, even with all the new stuff!

I'll try to come back and add the supplies but I gotta head to bed!

Make sure to check out what the team did and play along!

Happy stamping!

Pretty Pines

Hi stampers!  So, there was some discussion on some Stampin' Up forums that I'm a part of about using black on a Christmas card.  Some people just couldn't see using black on a Christmas card, ever!  Personally, I think it works great!  I suggested just trying black as an accent and challenged myself to make a card and this is what I came up with!  I think it's perfectly festive and the black adds a nice pop!

I'm also really in love with real red, emerald envy, and lemon lime twist for Christmas!  I wasn't sure about lemon lime for Christmas but I think I'm sold!  You can also mix metallics!  I used copper for my bow and gold for my pinecone!

I also think black and white Christmas cards could be quite elegant!

Which camp are you in?  Will you be using black on Christmas cards?  If not, I hope you'll be inspired to try!

Tidings of Procrastination

Hi stampers!  So I've been sitting on this card for a couple of months.  Whoops!  I'm sure none of you are surprised, are you? :-)

This is another card I cased from the catalog but the project in the catalog wasn't a card.  But it totally works, right? I just love the colors of this DSP!  I would have never thought mint as a Christmas color but it totally works!

Christmas in August

Hi stampers!  It's Christmas in August around here because my holiday catalog preorder got here earlier this week!  This catalog is seriously amazing!  And you all know I have a thing for the holidays so I'm totally in trouble! What's more is that so many of the products not only work in their respective bundles or suites, but work so well outside of them as well.  The holly bundle I used in this card also works with the tin of tags set and that's just one example!  So many products work with not only other holiday items but with items found in the annual catalog as well.  I did a live video of all my stuff on FB and talked about this some.  Make sure you follow me on FB to see those kinds of things!  And let me know if you need a catalog, ok?

I always have trouble creating when I get new stuff because I can't decide what you use so I kept my cards simple at first!  Here's the first one I made.

Stamps:  Christmas pines, holly berry happiness
Paper:  Whisper white, cherry cobbler, garden green
Ink:  Cherry cobbler, garden green
Accessories:  Gold metallic thread, holly berry builder punch

I LOVE that sentiment.  There are a number of sets I got mostly for the sentiments and this is one of them!  I also love that holly!  You can't get more Christmasy than holly!  I actually kind of forgot I got the holly bundle until I opened my order, lol!  I got quite a bit of free stuff with my hostess benefits and also some other demo perks!!!!  So, I got this bundle for FREE!  Don't forget about all of those awesome perks and free stuff if you're interested in becoming a demo!

Anyway, while summer is winding down for most people, we are getting super busy at the tail end!  I'll try my hardest to create and share a little bit when I can!

Happy stamping!
