Last Day of Our Current Catalogs

Hi stampers!  Today is it, the last day of the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog and the 2018 Occasions Catalog!  While I'm SUPER excited to get my hands on some new stuff (I am still revising my list...I better get it together today for real), I'm super sad to see so many of my favorite things retire!

I was visiting my dad this week and him and my step mom were talking a little bit about my SU business with me and I was talking about retirement.  They asked why I don't keep using my retired sets much and I told them that I TRY to only use current items so I can promote those items and hopefully (lol) sell them.  And then also, I want to inspire both customers and demos alike, to USE their current items.  That being said, I keep a lot of items and stamp sets because you just never know when you may need them for a special card and this is one of those sets, I'll probably never part with!

The inspiration for this card came from some unicorn cupcakes over on Instagram!  They were exactly Gorgeous Grape and Highland Heather with some gold thrown in.  I did the embossed splatter  by using a little bit of a versa mark re-inker and an aquapainter.  The key is to not use too much water.  Splatter it on then add your powder and emboss.

I really mixed and matched stamp sets on this one.  Don't forget to do that!  We get stuck in using our sets as a whole but I used the Magical Day set with the Banners For You set and my sentiment is from World's Best Trophy.  That's also a great retiring set to grab while you can!  If you want the banners bundle at the discounted price, you gotta grab that today as well!  Our bundle pricing isn't carried forward into other catalogs so while the items are available separately, you can't order the bundle and save your 10%.

Hard to see in the photo, but there's sparkly Wink Of Stella on my unicorn.  And the glimmer paper really picks up the purple tones, so pretty!  Speaking of retired products, I MAY have used the retired gold Wink of Stella to do my unicorn horn.  I just couldn't resist :-)

Make sure to grab anything you want out of either of our catalogs TODAY!  The new items will be available around 12 noon Mountain time, tomorrow!

Happy stamping!

Rainbows and Unicorns

Hi stampers!  What goes together better than rainbows and unicorns?  I'm still so shocked this set didn't make it into the new catalog!  It's so on trend and so cute!  Better grab this bundle while you can!  This is probably one I won't part with!

Anyway, I was thinking the other day that I should use it with a sort of rainbow and I tried some watercolor techniques using the silicone mat and kind of the smoosh technique with the cloud decorative mask.  I basically made watercolor wash on my mat and used the mask to pick it up then lay that down on my paper.  It didn't turn out exactly as planned but I think it was pretty cool anyway!    I actually made this before I was able to get my hands on all the new inks so I used some of our returning in colors and our current colors!

I watercolored by unicorn to match and added some Wink of Stella.  My sentiment is from Thoughtful Banners.  That great set is carrying over!  You need that one, too!  It's so versatile!

You've got until Thursday which is tomorrow to grab this one out of the Occasions Catalog!

Fab Friday 136

Hi stampers!  Happy Friday.  And Friday could not come soon enough!  It IS Friday, right?  I'm so off with Jon being gone last week and then again this week and for even longer.  Ian napped ZERO days so I got nothing, or at least next to nothing, stamped or blogged as you probably noticed.

Anyway, I did get a card done for Fab Friday because we have a new challenge for you over there!

I kind of love this one!  And I kind of love the resulting card!

I had to make two dragons because Ian wanted one when he saw me making this one :-)  He was so excited to have such a beautiful dragon or so he said :-)

I used my silicone craft sheet and re-inkers to do the background and I added some of the sparkly embossing paste once it was dry.  I did the same thing for my dragon except I stamped him and cut him out when it was dry.  I think he looks fantastic and obviously so did Ian :-)  These colors are great together!

Make sure to check out what the design team did and play along with us!

Mermaid Monday

Hi stampers!  Happy Monday, the start of a new week.  It's kind of a wacky one here, we just have a few things going on out of the norm and I kind of hate that.  I'm not sure if I'll get much time in the stamp studio, but we shall see.  I did clean a bit and reorganize my inks and papers over the weekend...instead of actually stamping...sigh.  But it feels good to have that done and I'm slowly and I mean SLOWLY getting used to the color changes.  I can't wait to fill the holes in my ink pad storage with our new colors!

Speaking of colors, I was SO, so happy to see Coastal Cabana and Mint Macaron returning!  I immediately thought they would look great on a mermaid card and I wasn't wrong!  I still kind of can't believe this adorable set isn't going to be in the new catalog. So, if you want it, better grab it!

I watercolored my mermaid with both Coastal Cabana and Mint Macaron.  Her scales have a little Wink Of Stella for sparkle.  The background is also those two colors.  I took my silicon sheet and scribbled on it in various places with the markers then spritzed it and squished my paper on it.  Once it was dry, I took an aqua painter and added some drops with Coastal Cabana.  I also stamped a few bubbles form the stamp set.

Those Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate Sheets are also retiring and this print is perfect for mermaid cards!  A few well placed gold flakes completed my card!  I hope you like her!
