Fab Friday 191

Hi stampers!  Time is getting away from me!  I meant to post yesterday, start off the new catalog strong, and I forgot lol!  I have been busy cleaning out old things though to make money for the new ;-)

Anyway, I'm here today with a new challenge from Fab Friday!

And here's my card:

I used the A Little Lace stamp and die to make a simple card.  I really like how it turned out though.  And I really like the gold accents!  I'm short on current embellishments right now and these were perfect!  I didn't get all the little pieces out of my background panel and I kind of like how it looks like that.

Hope you're enjoying browsing the new catalog!  Play along with us!

Fab Friday 181

Hi stampers!  Happy Friday!  This week has NOT gone as planned!  Poor Ian came down with a fever on Saturday night.  Thankfully it was low grade but it lasted over four days and you could tell the poor guy just didn't feel good.  I didn't get much stamping or much of anything done, he needed a lot of cuddles.  He's out of school two days next week for the holiday and conferences so they are letting me send him today when he doesn't normally go on Fridays!  We are both pretty excited about it :-)

I'm also excited I actually have something to share today!  It's time for Fab Friday!  We have a sketch this round.

I had to bust out the Bonanza Buddies for this one, it's just so fun!

This one is for all of my friends down under!  I hope you're all doing ok with all the fires!  I just wanted to say HI and I've been thinking about you!  I love how the washi tape coordinates with this suite so well!  And this little guy just looks like he's waving hi, doesn't he?

Make sure to check out what the rest of the team made and play along with us, this is such a fun sketch!

Fab Friday 176

Hi stampers!  Happy Friday!  Sorry I've been MIA!  It's been a crazy few weeks.  Ian got sick, we went to Illinois, came home for three days and then few to Disneyland and San Diego (Jon had a work event).  We came home just before Halloween and the time change and I just haven't caught up with my life yet :-)  I'm kind of always behind though, ha!

Anyway, I'm hoping to get back into the groove and Fab Friday is helping me out today, forcing me to stamp and share!

It's kind of a fall combo I think.  My apple has blushing bride in it, although you can't see as much of it as I'd like.

I have to laugh and tell you a bit of a funny story!  I went to make this card early Thursday morning (thinking look at me go of course)  because Jon had a medical appointment later in the day that would take most of my time (he's fine).  I stamped an "apple" and used my daubers to color it in and just wasn't happy with it.  I kept looking at it and could NOT figure it out.  It finally dawned on me.... :-)

Make sure to check out what the rest of the team did and play along!  If you're looking for the supply list, make sure you follow me in my FB group as that's where those live now!

Bookworm

Hi stampers!  Happy Hump Day!  I have a simple little card to share today using the Check You Out Stamp Set which is the one I used on World Card Making Day!  This one just uses stamps, ink, and paper again but you can set it apart just a bit with some fussy cutting!

My WCMD cards were kind of girly and I think this one is a little more masculine.  My dad recently had a small surgery so I think I'll send him this one!

You can find the supplies in my FB group.  Make sure to join if you haven't!

WCMD Part 1

Hi stampers!  Saturday was World Card Making Day!  I spent a good portion of the afternoon stamping away and I couldn't be happier!  Since having Ian, I have a hard time staying focused and stamping for long periods of time as well as coming up with ideas!  Even when he's in Daddy-Day-Care (aka sno-cones, bike riding, and video games hahahaha)!  You'll hear me yell at him to go hang out with dad in the video LOL!  The kid is with me ALLLLLLL day and only sees Jon in the evenings yet he still wants to bug me.  I mean, at the end of the day, I don't even want to hang out with ME! ;-)  Anyway, you can find the video here in my FB Group.

In the video, I just kind of thought you could hang out with me while I stamped and see a bit of my creative process!  I started out with a simple card using Stamps, Ink, and notecards and then I did a slightly stepped up version.  Props to Erica Cerwin because I cased the general idea and colors from her <3 p="">

The color is slightly off since it's so dark here in the mornings!  But how cute are these cards?  For the stepped up version, I just cut out the middle book and added a heart on dimensionals.  A couple of glitter dots finished it up, keeping it still pretty simple and mailable!

Stay tuned for something a little unexpected with this little guy (or gal).  You can sneak a peek of that if you join the group and watch the video!    That's also where you can find the supply list!

I  hope you got to stamp on WCMD and had a great one!

An Apple A Day

Hi stampers!  We're halfway to the weekend!  Will you be stamping over the weekend?  Saturday is World Card Making Day so I'm going to try to get in my stamp room!

Here's a fun fall card you could send to anyone!  I love the Harvest Hellos stamp set!  Ian had a little taste test of different varieties of apples last week and keeps talking about it.  That totally reminds me of this card, ha!  His favorite was the pink lady!

Our DPS stacks sure make cute apples!  I used the Brights Collection here with Poppy Parade, Daffodil Delight, and Granny Apple Green (fitting, no?).

I used some post it notes and masked off the comma and the rest of this sentiment from the set and just used the Hey There.  Don't forget you can usually use your sentiment in any way you want!

I did some pattern mixing yesterday and today should we call this pattern coordinating?  Ha!  I paired the Buffalo Check Background Stamp with the gingham.  I wasn't sure it would work, but it totally does, or at least I think so.  What do you think?

In keeping with our new and improved website, the supply list can now be found on my FB group which you can get to HERE.  Make sure to click and join so you don't miss anything!

Wherever We Roam

Hi stampers!  Happy Tuesday!  I'm sharing a sweet card today that I made over the weekend decor the Stampin' Through the Catalog Challenge.  They are focusing on the Holiday Catalog at the moment and I've tried to play along!

I made this card specifically for my bestie who lives in Iowa.  We don't see each other very much but whenever we do, it's like no time or distance has passed!  <3 p="">

First off, I love these colors together!

  • Crushed Curry
  • Terracotta Tile
  • Rococoa Rose
  • Seaside Spray
  • Pretty Peacock

Second, while this set may be in the Holiday Catalog it is NOT just for Holidays.  I cut this sentiment apart and left the part about Christmas off.  The inside says, "Our hearts are next door" and I just love that!  I also love the font mixing in this set!

My houses are also stamped and then cut out and popped up on dimensionals.

Make sure to play along with #STTCchallenge if you have this set!  They will feature you on Instagram!  Tag them with that hashtag up there!

In keeping with the new platform from SU, my supplies are now linked on the images in my FB group.  Please ask to follow along by clicking right HERE!

Hey There, Pumpkin

Hi stampers!  Happy Monday!  Technology is NOT my friend!  Anyone else?  I'm sharing a cute card today but my photo editing app wasn't working so I did the best I could, I hope I do it justice since it's JUST SO CUTE!

How fun is the pattern mixing on this card???  Don't be afraid to mix them up!  And don't forget about our Decorative Masks!  This set from the Holiday Catalog are super cute and to be honest, I forgot these simple dots were in there!  I inked them up with a sponge and made sure I went heavier with the ink in some places and lighter in the other and I LOVE it!

One of my oldest and best friends always greets me with, "Hey, Pumpkin", so this card will be on the way to her!

Fab Friday 173

Hi stampers!  Happy Friday!  It's time for another challenge over at Fab Friday!  It's a sketch this time around and I really love it!

I grabbed From Our House To Yours off of my shelf!  This is an adorable little set and I thought it would be so cute here, and it was!  Again, you can find the supplies linked on my FB group!  If you don't follow, please do so!

I wouldn't normally use all of these colors together but I think they work!  The picture doesn't do it justice!  It won't stop raining long enough to get a good photo!

This card is destined to my best friend who I miss daily!  The inside says "our hearts are next door."  I love that!!!! <3 p="">
Made sure yo check out what the rest of the team did and play along!

Fab Friday 171

Hi stampers!  Happy Friday!  It's a happy day around here as Jon comes home from being in Belgium all week!  Yay!  And followed by a long weekend!  It's also time for a new Fab Friday challenge!  We have a sketch this time!

I've had this background just waiting to be made into a card!  I'll link the video I did a few weeks ago for the masks and Pigment Sprinkles below!  It's such a fun technique!  This sketch was perfect for this background because it doesn't need much to make it stand out!  For my letters, I just stamped them and cut them out with the dies, then you can just trim off the layering parts leaving just the letters.

I stuck pretty true to the sketch and didn't need much to finish this one off!  Hope you like it!  And I hope you play along with us and check out what the rest of the team did!

Here's the video which works for any of our masks, this is just the one I chose to use!

Fab Friday 170

Hi stampers!  Happy Friday!  Quick post today, long story :-)  It's time for a new challenge at Fab Friday!  Check it out!

Here's what I did and I kinda love it! (I'll come back and add the supply list soon)

This die is just the bees knees and it looks really cool layered in different colors like this!  I think Petal Pink over grapefruit could also be really cool looking!  A little circle of vellum kind of softened the whole thing up and I love the pop of the blue!

Make sure to check out what the rest of the team did over on the blog, they are so great!

Tie Dye Tuesday

Hi stampers, happy Tuesday!  I have a fun card to share today and it may be my most favorite card I've made, ever!  I used our new Pigment Sprinkles and they are SO FUN!  Messy!  But fun!  Make sure to cover your work surface and your clothes!  I'll have a tip on that later on.  I'll try to do a video of these for you soon!

The colors are so amazing and I thought they would look great with the medallion mask from the Party Pattern Decorative Masks!  I wasn't wrong!

I taped my Watercolor Paper down with some retired washi tape on a old clipboard I use for watercoloring.  Then, I taped my mask down.  I spritzed it a little and then shook just a little of each color on where I wanted it.  The key to this stuff is to start light and add more IF you need to.  Finally, I added a little more water to get it to blend well. I then really carefully dabbed a paper towel to soak up the excess water and gently peeled the mask away and left the paper to dry.  The paper towel is also a piece of art, lol!

The colors of these sprinkles are just SO vibrant!  This card didn't need anything else but a sentiment!
Even if you're not a great watercolor artist, these things make it easy to look like it!!!!!  And they are just so fun!  They come out different each time!

Have you tried the Pigment Sprinkles yet?  If not, grab them NOW and earn a bonus coupon to use next month which is FAST approaching!!!!

And here's a little clean up tip!  Disclaimer:  I TRY to limit my plastic use and make as little waste as possible but I already had these AND I'm going to try to use this thing until I can't anymore!  I had some medical chux pads from when Ian was a baby (I used them to cover gross changing tables and for puking/sick babies, that kind of thing) and I thought it would be great for catching any excess powder and over-spray!  I wasn't wrong.  They are basically like puppy pads (although I wouldn't use those because they have chemicals added) but for people.  I think this one will last me a long time!  I just thought I'd pass it along in case you have any lying around.

It was also easy to just cover everything on my work surface and then pick the whole thing up to set aside to dry!

Edited:  I created a video for this technique!  Hope you find it helpful!

More Magnolia

Hi stampers!  I kept meaning to post yesterday but it didn't happen.  Monday's are busy with the gym, Ian's therapy, and then getting groceries for the week!  Anyone else busy on Monday????  Instead of stamping in the evening after dinner which I do occasionally so the boys can have some time together, I went for a walk.  It was nice and cool and cloudy out.  I enjoyed it since we have a heat advisory coming!

Anyway, I did make this simple but (I think) really pretty card over the weekend!

This set makes really pretty cards really easy!  Just stamp and color and done!
